So nowhere then. Thank youGod has told us what he will do and what he will not do. Do you take him seriously or don't you? He said he resists the proud but gives his grace to the humble (or those who choose to walk in humility) James 4:6 You have it in reverse to accommodate your wrong beliefs. You have it that God does something for the proud outside of resisting them.
Nope not possible according to the word of God. Go back and think about this a lot more than you have.
That's like saying he knows exactly what it would take to lie and for it to be OK. Or he knows exactly what it would take to create a square circle.
Thanks for confessing that you have no answer for your Do Nothing religion.Translation: I have no answer
Do nothing religion? LOLThanks for confessing that you have no answer for your Do Nothing religion.
So then do you agree with 2 Th 2:13 that you do have a belief part to play (underlined below) in your election onto salvation? Or are we back to your Do Nothing religion?Do nothing religion? LOL
Do you have a verse which states any such thing?Irrelevant to my point. God can determine you humble yourself and when you do He gives you grace.
Nope. Our omnipotent God can determine anything He likes.Do you have a verse which states any such thing?
So you have no proof for the idea God determined all that humbled themselves.Nope. Our omnipotent God can determine anything He likes.
You have no proof He doesn't.So you have no proof for the idea God determined all that humbled themselves.
and nowhere do we read God caused them to be humbled
Since the Bible does not support you, what you're in fact saying is that your god is subordinate to the decrees and stipulations of TULIP.Nope. Our omnipotent God can determine anything He likes.
So you have no proof for the idea God determined all that humbled themselves.
and nowhere do we read God caused them to be humbled
So God is not omnipotent?Since the Bible does not support you, what you're in fact saying is that your god is subordinate to the decrees and stipulations of TULIP.
Your god being subordinate to the decrees and whims of TULIP is how you define omnipotence, I see.So God is not omnipotent?
Never claimed any such thing. I will leave you to discuss this with your boogeyman.Your god being subordinate to the decrees and whims of TULIP is how you define omnipotence, I see.
Run away once more from having to support your ideas with Bible verses. That's typical behavior of calvinists.Never claimed any such thing. I will leave you to discuss this with your boogeyman.
Why would I to back up something I never said? LOLRun away once more from having to support your ideas with Bible verses. That's typical behavior of calvinists.
Well saidNo he can't. Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE. In the same way it's impossible for God to lie or to create a square circle. Of course you've got the door slammed shut and nailed in so as not to give up your way of thinking but to readers......The Bible says, God resist the proud but gives his grace to the humble, or to those who show humility! It doesn't say he implants humility within anyone.
IMPOSSIBLE.
He can create circumstances to create a humbling effect like difficult circumstances they may go through to appeal to them to yield to humility but he's done that many times and many times they did not take the next step to walk in humility! Deut 8:3 They still walked in pride and were at times judged and destroyed. God does one thing to the proud....He resists them and does not do a work around and shows them his grace. If they choose to retain PRIDE he can't break through that and implant humility! It doesn't matter how much you claim he does this he does not. God resists the pride but gives his grace to the humble. Jm 4:7
God forced people into circumstances so that they would humble themselves. There's no one who was zapped with humility. These verses demonstrate instances where God directly caused individuals or nations to be humbled as a consequence of their actions or attitudes.
- Exodus 10:1-2 (Pharaoh): "Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these signs of mine among them that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.'"
- Daniel 4:28-33 (King Nebuchadnezzar): "All this happened to King Nebuchadnezzar. Twelve months later, as the king was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, he said, 'Is not this the great Babylon I have built as the royal residence, by my mighty power and for the glory of my majesty?' Even as the words were on his lips, a voice came from heaven, 'This is what is decreed for you, King Nebuchadnezzar: Your royal authority has been taken from you. You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes.' Immediately what had been said about Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled. He was driven away from people and ate grass like the ox. His body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair grew like the feathers of an eagle and his nails like the claws of a bird."
- 2 Chronicles 33:11-13 (King Manasseh): "So the Lord brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon. In his distress, he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors. And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God."
- Psalm 107:39-41 (Various): "Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste. But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks."
- Daniel 5:18-23 (King Belshazzar): "Your Majesty, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor. Because of the high position he gave him, all the nations and peoples of every language dreaded and feared him. Those the king wanted to put to death, he put to death; those he wanted to spare, he spared; those he wanted to promote, he promoted; and those he wanted to humble, he humbled. But when his heart became arrogant and hardened with pride, he was deposed from his royal throne and stripped of his glory. He was driven away from people and given the mind of an animal; he lived with the wild donkeys and ate grass like the ox; and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he acknowledged that the Most High God is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and sets over them anyone he wishes. But you, Belshazzar, his son, have not humbled yourself, though you knew all this."
- Jeremiah 13:15-17 (Judah): "Hear and pay attention, do not be arrogant, for the Lord has spoken. Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings the darkness, before your feet stumble on the darkening hills. You hope for light, but he will turn it to utter darkness and change it to deep gloom. If you do not listen, I will weep in secret because of your pride; my eyes will weep bitterly, overflowing with tears, because the Lord’s flock will be taken captive."
- Isaiah 2:11-12 (Various Nations): "The eyes of the arrogant will be humbled and human pride brought low; the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. The Lord Almighty has a day in store for all the proud and lofty, for all that is exalted (and they will be humbled)."
- Hosea 5:15 (Israel): "Then I will return to my lair until they have borne their guilt and seek my face-- in their misery they will earnestly seek me."
- 1 Samuel 2:6-7 (Hannah's Song): "The Lord brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up. The Lord sends poverty and wealth; he humbles and he exalts."
- Psalm 60:1-3 (David): "You have rejected us, God, and burst upon us; you have been angry—now restore us! You have shaken the land and torn it open; mend its fractures, for it is quaking. You have shown your people desperate times; you have given us wine that makes us stagger."
A faith apart from Gods word .Do you have a verse which states any such thing?
Ditto just like with faith.God forced people into circumstances so that they would humble themselves. There's no one who was zapped with humility.
