There is a contradiction because believing DOES NOT INDICATE LIFE HAS BEEN GIVEN.There's no contradiction, believing indicates life has been given. A Sheep believes in Christ because Jesus has already saved him and given him everlasting life.
Belief is the acceptance that something is true, while faith involves trust and confidence that leads to action based on that belief. Essentially, belief is about what you think, and faith is about what you do with with that belief.
Now how does this apply to us.....,? Scripturally...?
Scripturally we are told
Romans 10:17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
2 Cor 5:7 for we walk by faith, not by sight—
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him
