Deliverance from Calvinism

I'd say that God doesn't know my sin. He told us that He would remove them from us and forget them. I believe that God is powerful enough to do just that. Forget them.

If you can grasp this fact, it will change what anyone believes about "knowing everything".
Good point. This is from one of my devotions books I read.

Short-Term Memory

Read Hebrews 8:7–12

I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.
Hebrews 8:12

What does it mean that God remembers our sins no more? Does it mean that our all-knowing God can actually forget what we have done? The phrase “remember [our] sins no more” means “hold our sins against us no more.” God recalls what we have done, but He does not hold it against us (2 Cor. 5:18–19). He deals with us on the basis of grace and mercy, not law and merit. Once sin has been forgiven, it is never brought before us again. The matter is settled eternally.

As a pastor in counseling ministry, I have often heard people say, “Well, I can forgive—but I cannot forget!”

“Of course you can’t forget,” I usually reply. “The more you try to put this thing out of your mind, the more you will remember it. But that isn’t what it means to forget.” Then I go on to explain that “to forget” means “not to hold it against the person who has wronged us.” We may remember what others have done, but we treat them as though they never did it.

This is only possible because of the cross, for there God treated His Son as though He had done it! Our experience of forgiveness from God makes it possible for us to forgive others.

Something to Ponder
What steps do you take to keep from taking God’s forgiveness for granted?

I say that when God said “If you do well,” shows me Cain was able to respond positively in spite of his depravity, and that the biblical account makes the best sense in this light.

Of course it make sense. God created man in His image and likeness.

Like God, man has a choice to serve what is right, or what is evil.

And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
Joshua 24:15

No that's a works salvation.

How is confessing with your mouth the Lord Jesus a work?

Paul says it’s faith: an expression of faith.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:8-9

We are saved by grace THROUGH FAITH.

Man believes to know he has eternal life 1 Jn 5 13

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
The regenerated elect has eternal life b4 he knows it. The elect dont believe to get life, but to have it more abundantly Jn 10

Typical Calvinistic character assassination

  1. Definition: Character assassination refers to damaging someone's reputation through false or misleading statements.
  2. Calvinistic Perspective: It often involves theological arguments that question a person's faith or moral standing.
  3. Predestination Argument: Critics may use predestination to imply that someone's failures are evidence of their lack of salvation.
  4. Moral Judgment: Calvinists may assert that a person's actions reflect their inherent sinful nature, leading to character attacks.
  5. Scriptural Misinterpretation: Misusing scripture to discredit someone's character can be a tactic in these discussions.
  6. Community Impact: Such attacks can create divisions within congregations and harm communal relationships.

Sigh. If this is true.... then why does the Bible indicates that all believers will stand before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of their lives (Romans 14:10-12; 2 Corinthians 5:10.)?

Billy Graham wrote,"Someday we each will die and stand before God to give an account of our lives"

So I posted the following question "If God does not remember our sins then why must we face judgement"

Ai ~ Believers are judged not for salvation, but to assess their works and determine eternal rewards. While God does not hold sins against them, their actions during life will still be evaluated at the Judgment Seat of Christ.

Understanding God's Judgment and Forgiveness

God's Promise of Forgiveness

God promises in the Bible that He will "remember our sins no more" (Jeremiah 31:34). This means that He chooses not to hold our sins against us in terms of punishment. Believers are justified through faith in Jesus Christ, which grants them forgiveness and freedom from the penalty of sin.

The Nature of Judgment

While believers are forgiven, they will still face a judgment known as the Judgment Seat of Christ. This judgment is not about salvation but rather about assessing the lives of believers based on their actions and faithfulness.

Types of Judgment

There are two main types of judgment for believers:

  • Great White Throne Judgment: This is for the unsaved and determines eternal separation from God.
  • Judgment Seat of Christ: This evaluates the works of believers to determine their eternal rewards. It considers both good and bad actions, as stated in 2 Corinthians 5:10.

Purpose of Judgment

The purpose of this judgment is to assess how believers have lived out their faith and to reward them accordingly. It emphasizes accountability and encourages believers to serve God faithfully.

In summary, God's promise to forget our sins relates to salvation and punishment, while the judgment believers face is about rewards and the quality of their service to Him.

I understand this is the typical/traditional teaching from such verses as this, However, the issue is more complex than just trying to take what Paul said here at "face value". There are more things to consider instead of simply believing everything we've ever done throughout our entire lives will be reconsidered. Some men's sin are open before hand. Some men's follow. Some are already judged. Some await judgment.

Lets witness what the verses you reference do not say......

1. They do not reference the entirety of our sinfulness.
2. They do not reference the times of our ignorance. Like when we are a children or unable to understand the simplest of things.
3. They do not reference our sins relative to dementia or physical impairments that make it impossible for us to live without the assistance of others. Sin is much deeper than most people think.
4. They do not reference the sins of others that put us in impossible situations. (I can elaborate but be prepared to be offended. I avoid the details because of the shocking circumstances they include )

As you rightfully witnessed, there is complexity here. That is why God personally is going to judge us. He understands the complexity of these situations better than anyone else. Including ourselves.

I stand by what I said. I'll expand why.

Most people believe they can't forget something entirely. Living proves otherwise. While some may insist that God actually remembers yet doesn't consider their actions, there are Scriptures to consider that say otherwise.

Psa 103:12 as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

In Micah 7:19 God speaks of casting sins into the deeps of the sea. Basically "into the abyss".

In the very thing that destroyed this world.

I'll can go on but Iet know where you believe I'm wrong.

Tulip Truths are elements of the Gospel of Gods Grace
Again shown to be contrary to scripture

John 20:31 (KJV 1900) — 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Based upon what has been written, one might believe that Jesus is the Christ.

Romans 10:17 (LEB) — 17 Consequently, faith comes by hearing, and hearing through the word about Christ.

Faith comes from hearing the word.

Sorry but

John 20:31 (LEB) — 31 but these things are recorded in order that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

Scripture states that by believing, you may have life.
