Calvinism’s Misrepresentation of God

I discovered 4 truths taught by LIFE and SCRIPTURE that I embraced:
  1. People are no darn good.
  2. God does not save us because we deserve it.
  3. God does not try; God simply does.
  4. God finishes what God starts.
Do you think that Wesleyans don’t believe these things? All true Christians believe these things.
My personal salvation was radically monergistic, so claiming “free will synergism” for MY salvation is delusional.
No it wasn’t: God used the Catholics to share the gospel with you! He used the Wesleyans to encourage you and teach you.

You may stand before Jesus and thank him for recognizing your efforts towards faith and salvation, but I cannot make any such claims … God chose me, I did not choose Him.
I did nothing but believe in him, and that’s all I’ve done since June of 1977. All I have is from the Father of heavenly lights, and I am undeserving of it all.

You believed in him too! The gospel was presented to you, and you were given the grace to believe or reject what God has revealed as truth. God doesn’t make you believe; you have to do that yourself. That’s what your testimony above illustrates.

Do “all true Christians believe these things”? Really?

1. People are no darn good.

Romans 7:18-19 [ESV] For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.
  • Does everyone believe that “nothing good dwells in me” and evil is “what I keep on doing” every time I exercise my FREE WILL? What does that say about people CHOOSING to believe in Jesus vs the need for the Father to (irresistibly) DRAW us to the Son?

John 3:18 [ESV] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
  • Before each person believes, didn’t all men “not believe” … which made them “already condemned”?
John 3:19-20 [ESV] And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
  • Here is the JUDGEMENT that all stand “already condemned” of before they believed. Does everyone really believe that PEOPLE (all unsaved people) “loved darkness”, perform “evil works”, does “wicked things”, HATES the light (Jesus) and “does not come to the light” (Jesus)?
  • Does “every true Christian” really believe that the FREE WILL of every unsaved person is to flee FROM God rather than trust and believe IN God?
That is the opposite of the Wesleyan synergistic salvation that the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana) taught. That is the (T) of Particular Baptist monergistic salvation as found in scripture and in my personal salvation experience.

I am not familiar with the CoG, but as a Nazarene and a lifelong Wesleyan/Arminian I have never heard anything to the contrary to this, and I have never preached or taught anything other than these precepts.
