Calvinism is Gospel !

Calvinism is impossible, it cannot be true. Because logic matters. Internal inconsistency, contradiction, in a system of belief is a sure sign of error. A logically inconsistent system of ideas cannot be true.

Critiquing Calvinism’s assertion that salvation is solely God’s unilateral decision involves analyzing key scriptural texts and theological principles. Here are the key issues and their scriptural counterpoints:

Free Will and Human Responsibility

Calvinism’s doctrine of Unconditional Election posits that God’s choice is independent of human action, implying humans lack agency in their salvation. However, the Bible repeatedly emphasizes human responsibility in responding to God’s grace.

John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” This verse clearly conditions eternal life on individual belief.

Acts 16:31: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.” This directive underscores the necessity of human choice in salvation.

God’s Desire for All to Be Saved

Calvinism asserts that God decrees some to salvation and others to reprobation. This is problematic when measured against verses that show God’s universal salvific will:

1 Timothy 2:4: “[God] desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

2 Peter 3:9: “[God is] not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”

Foreknowledge vs. Predestination

Calvinists often argue that God’s foreknowledge necessitates predestination, but the Bible presents foreknowledge as God’s knowing in advance who will choose Him, not causing them to believe:

Romans 8:29: “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” The sequence suggests that predestination follows foreknowledge.

1 Peter 1:2: “…elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father.” Election is grounded in foreknowledge, not arbitrary decree.

Universal Offer of Salvation

The New Testament teaches that the gospel is offered to all, not only to a predetermined group of elect individuals:

Matthew 11:28: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Revelation 22:17: “Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

God’s Justice and Impartiality

Calvinism’s concept of unconditional election raises questions about God’s justice and impartiality:

Acts 10:34-35: “God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”

Ezekiel 18:23: “Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? … and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”

The Role of Grace

While Calvinism emphasizes irresistible grace (that God’s grace cannot be resisted by the elect), Scripture illustrates that grace can be resisted:

Acts 7:51: “You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit.”

Matthew 23:37: “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem… How often I wanted to gather your children together… but you were not willing!”

The scriptural problems with Calvinism’s interpretation of salvation center on the denial of human agency and the misrepresentation of God’s character as impartial and loving. The biblical narrative consistently portrays salvation as a cooperative process: God initiates through grace, and humans respond through faith. This balance ensures that God’s sovereignty and human responsibility are harmonized, honoring the scriptural testimony that God foreknows who will choose Him, and based on this knowledge, He elects them for eternal life.

Calvinists suffer from delusion because they shun, trample underfoot, despise, spurn and deride God’s Gospel which is forever entrenched in His words, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Paul announces God’s judgment on all those who dare to misrepresent his Gospel of salvation in 2 Thessalonians 2:8-12.

These things will be made clear on the day of judgment

Can the flesh please God?

No born again Christians who walk according to the flesh do not please God.

They are opposed to the Spirit.

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. Galatians 5:16-17

Christians who practice the works of the flesh do not inherit the kingdom of God.

Please explain how someone who is unsaved, becomes saved.

The flesh cant please God Rom 8:8

8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
That’s right, but don’t stop there; read on …

Romans 8:9-10 (NKJV) 9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ [is] in you, the body [is] dead because of sin, but the Spirit [is] life because of righteousness.

I would love to debate the man personally instead of you, since you quoted Robert Clifton Robinson, verbatim, which is against this own site copyright laws which he has posted where all can see, since he's more interesting in $$$$ than truth.

But, I would debate you on his points if you desire to do so. His points are weak and nothing more then no good soldier of the cross has not seen, which points have been exposed as false many times over, since the days of Augustine

Let me know, my time is precious at the moment. But let me add this ~I'm not here to defend Calvinism but the truth, we agree with those who hold to Calvinism of some of their teachings, but with not one point of those who hold to Armenianism, which is what RCR is, and most false religions of this world teaches.

It is the height of idolatry to say, as some Calvinists do, that “Calvinism is the gospel.
Neither Calvinism or Armenianism is the truth per se. Let me ask you a question: What is the gospel according to Paul from Romans 1:16,17; 3:21-26; Galatians 1:6-12; Galatians 2:16-5:4; 1st Corinthians 1:17-31; etc.?
It is the height of idolatry to say, as some Calvinists do, that “Calvinism is the gospel.
This works both ways for both groups!

God does indeed pronounces a curse upon all who preach another gospel. So, I ask you what I asked Overcomer above:

You tell me what is the gospel according to your understanding? Let us see who are embracing another gospel, which truly is not another, since there's only one gospel of Jesus Christ.

Let us see who is living under a strong delusion, for sure many are. Give me your best effort, for I'm sure you will need to do so, and most likely will need help from some of your friends.

You think you understand the true biblical sense of John 3:16, then prove it, I'm convinced you do not..

Reading on is not going to make what he says in Romans 8:8 any different, those in the flesh cannot please God they don't have the Spirit

That does not mean that they cannot do what is right. It means that some things that they do are not right and are not forgiven for them. It does not mean that they cannot obey the gospel and be saved.

Trusting in Christ's suffering as the punishment for your sins, does not necessarily entail divine determinism.

To equate believing determinism with salvific belief is completely false.

Ergo, Calvinism is NOT the Gospel.

It means they can't please God is doing what is right pleasing to God?
