Jesus took the punishment our sins deserved on our behalf.

He was punished by evil men, persecuted by evil men, tortured by evil men, killed by evil men, not God.

Your sins caused spiritual death. That's why you need to be born again

Physical death is a result of sin. not the punishment. Not everyone will die physically

Justification is a judicial term.

God is a just God. He is our righteous Judge.

I do not see how you can remove judicial aspect of Gods essence from the equation.

God told adam, in the day you eat. you will die..

The command or law was do not eat.

the punishment or penalty according to the judge who gave the command, is if you do you will die

Adam died spiritually the moment he ate. we can see this by how he reacted and what he did..

We also see the judge COVER the nakedness of adam as an example of what Christ would do. An innocent died. to cover the nakedness (sin ) of adam.

100 % its what led me out of Calvinism. See this thread , its my story. I only ask one thing. Read though it with an open mind. :)

This is a thesis paper I wrote and I'm still working on expanding it with more references and material. I have given it to several pastors and theologians I know who are encouraging me to continue with my study and research on this topic. They all have liked the premise of the paper. The Nature of God in the Atonement.

How can it make a mockery of Gods love. God loved so much HE GAVE HIS LIFE.. PSA is the perfect example of love and justice working together

All that is removed is the idea God's motive here is simply one of retribution. Christ is considered the one who sinned, and God pours out his wrath against him, gaining his retribution against the sinners.

I do not see it as God pouring out his wrath.

I see it as God turning his back. and Jesus dyeing the death Adam died the moment he sinned, and the death we are all born into. so we can be born again.

Imagine an eternal god. who had an eternal relationship all of a sudden losing that presence..

It is what Caused Christ to scream

then you should probably back out of the conversation.

Your hatred of Calvinism will keep you unable to see things and you would not be a good witness.

If you refuse to read the link I wrote on the topic with several years of study then we have nothing to discuss.

you like most have bought into the pulpits that learned the doctrine form the reformation.

I already debunked your theory that PSA does not show the love of God.

so please.. Again,, Your heart is against calvin. so you can not see or believe anythign they say.

PSA is all about the love of God..

Jesus could have jumped off that cross and said he changed hi8s mind, it is his love for you and I he allowed himself to be captured. allowed himself to be tortured and hung on that cross. and allowed the cup that the father asked him to take to be done to him.

to say Jesus atoning death mocks or degrades the love of God is nonsense
