If we say, we are saved or God saved us because I believed, then thats a work based Salvation
This is a fallacy.
Its conditional grace salvation not works based salvation.
Gods grace has always been conditional.
Gods grace instructs us in what God wants us to do.
If we fail to meet Gods conditions then we receive no grace from Him.
Grace instructs, teaches,
Titus 2:11-12,
- for the
grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
teaching us that denying ungodliness and worldly lusts we should live soberly righteously and godly in this present world
So ask ourselves, am I accepted of God, for my doing well, or by His Grace,"To the praise of the glory of his grace"
Gods grace instructs us to "do well"(more on this later).
brightfame52 is trying to separate Grace from doing Gods will.
No grace given if Gods will is not done!!! Grace is conditional.
Notice Noah,
Genesis 6:8,
- but Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord
Genesis 6:22,
- Thus Noah did according to all that God commanded him, so he did
Gods grace instructed Noah to build the ark.
If Noah had refused to obey Gods instructions, Noah would have died with the rest of the world in the flood.
Gods grace was conditioned upon Noah following Gods commands.
Why did God have mercy and grace on Noah?
Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord because he obeyed God. Noah trusted God.
What was Noahs obedience to God, by building the ark, trusting God would save him by Grace if he met Gods conditions. What does the Bible call this?
Answer: Hebrews 11:7,
- by
faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet
moved with godly fear
prepared an ark to the saving of his house by the which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is by
faith
Noah building the ark by obeying Gods instruction is called faith!!!
The only faith that saves in the entire Bible is an obedient faith.
Obeying Gods instructions is the only way to be covered by Gods grace.
The building, working Gods commandments is NOT called works.
It's called faith. That is true Biblical saving faith.
The only
kind of faith that recieves grace.
for by grace Noah was saved when by his faith he built the ark to the saving of his household.
Noah wasn't saved by works based salvation.
Noah was saved by grace though obedient faith salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9; 10
If we say, we are saved or God saved us because I believed, then thats a work based Salvation, of you doing well ! James wrote James 2:8,19
Fallacy.
19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
See how the Holy Spirit here equates believing in God as doing well ? Christ is God isnt He ? So believing in Christ is doing well
It's good to believe in God. James teaches this.
7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.
God was dealing with cain here not in Grace but in law,
Gods people are and always have been accepted in the Beloved, not by doing well Eph 1:6
brightfame52 is teaching that Gods people are accepted into His grace not by doing well.
This is the conclusion he draws from James chapter 2:19,
- thou believest that there is one God
thou doest well the devils also believe and tremble
James is teaching belief in God is good but if your belief is without obedient works it is worthless.
James 2:19-20,
- thou believest that there is one God thou doest well the devils also believe(faith alone) and tremble
- but wilt thou know O, foolish man that
faith without works is dead
James never taught what brightfame52 is teaching.
brightfame is taking James out of context.
James teaches that your faith does make you accepted by God when you obey His instruction.
Read the next verse,
James 2:19-21,22
- was not Abraham our father
justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar,
- seest thou how by
faith wrought with works(obedience to Gods commands) and by works faith is made perfect
- ye see then how that by works a man is justified and not by faith alone(like the devils in James 2:19)
That is true Biblical grace(conditional) by faith(obedience by meeting Gods conditions) we are saved.
Gods people are and always have been accepted in the Beloved, not by doing well Eph 1:6
Said another way,
Salvation by Gods unconditional grace by nothing we do not even faith.
That's the calvinist gospel.
Galatians 1:8,
- but though we or an angel from heaven preach
another gospel unto you, than that we have not preached
let him be accursed
Believing in Christ is absolutely required, it is essential to receiving Gods grace.
Titus 2:11; Hebrews 11:6,
- for the
grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to ALL men
- but
without faith it is impossible to please God for he that cometh to God MUST believe..
