Paul teaches us we are justified in new testament baptism where the old sinful self is crucified with Christ, buried with Christ and raised(ressurected) with Christ born again in newness of life i.e. when we are justified in Christ.
Baptism is where we contact the blood of Christ.

Paul teaches we obeyed this doctrine(gospel baptism)and saved by it,

Yes but more specifically works of the law of Moses. Paul referred to these works that do not save as works where by if men could be saved by them, they would boast. There are works in the gospel of Jesus Christ that are required by God, belief, repentance, public confession, water baptism, faithful living. But these works do not save by meriting salvation so doing these works, one has nothing to boast about.
