God said let their be light, and there was light.

I think people want to try to make to much out of creation. Just take God at his word.

He created the heavens and the earth, for mankind. Everything was put in place for that reason

let he who is wise in this world become a fool that he may be wise . Man my friend

The way I understand it...
The Big Bang would be when God said: Let There Be Light.
I don't state this as fact...it's just an idea.
What we know for sure is that whatever happened, or however it got started...
God did it.

At least your wise enough to admit you do not state that as fact .
but go and read what eternally greatful wrote . THAT is exactly the best way to do it . Just take GOD at HIS WORD

No, not everything is literal. There is a vast amount of figurative language in Scripture. Jesus is not a rock or stone, but there are many passages that call Him the chief cornerstone, or the rock cut out without hands, etc.

But unless there is a valid, compelling reason to read something as figurative, it should be first read as literal.

Sure that's the basics. But the reason we have to be careful here is that there are many who refuse to believe in God because there are those, like yourself, who make exceptions to what and how you believe the Bible. It is your lack of complete trust in what it says that opens doors for them to flee through. I would have those doors closed.

One compelling reason is that what we read must be compatible with reason
Our reason digests knowledge obtained from logic, from science, from the historical and literary context of what we are reading, and from the basic ethics God has taught us through our parents.

i know dear sister . we are in a war for the souls of man and that war has raged throughout the centuries .
And now in the last and final hour a trogan horse in the name of peace has come within christendom .
But the churches know not that death is within it and that as men sleep they will and have taken captive CHRISTENDOM to a lie .
The CHRIST has ascended
and as MOSES ascened into the moutain and was gone for a time the peoples began to say
What has become of this moses , let us go to and build us a bull to dance too .
SO too JESUS has been gone a long time and the peoples now have prepared unto them a many path diverse
and strange golden bull of inclusive diversive interfaith .
AS moses was in the moutain HE made intercession for them and said DESTROY not this people
but upon return he came as wrath and had the most ungodly destoryed .
SO TOO DOES CHRIST SIT to make intercession , BUT SOON SHALL ARISE and DELIVER the the wrath upon
all WHO danced to that BULL and believe you me it is BULL , bull of interfaith . Time be running out too .

men have always loved to look into things and discover things .
No doubt about that .
I noticed you wrote that men used to think the sun went around the earth .
they did .
Men used to think the earth was flat . BUT DID YOU KNOW that in the bible
LONG before man even realized it was round
IT is written and recorded
That it is HE who sitteth over THE CIRCLE OF THE EARTH . OH YES that is well written long long ago .
GOD never said the earth was flat
MEN conceieved it was through ignorance.
Now while tis true that sometimes science can prove some things right
SISTER it often will and does contradict GOD . i suggest
we simply become a fool to the wisdom of this world .

amen. and when we think many in the church also used to think the world was flat.. inspite of the scripture speaking of the contrary.

I recently changed my view on the creation story. Sometimes the simplicity in Gods word just needs to be taken into account..

While that is true , beware for evolution itself is a lie , teaching such a contradiction
is deadly dangerous . to presume man came from king kong is a fat lie
that would actually CALL GOD a liar who in the scripture shows us HE created man a fully created being
and then later would take woman out of man . in other words
beware the philosphies of men . Evilution is deadly . But as far as knowing
exactly HOW old the earth is , I was not there in the beginning nor was any other man that has walked this earth
WELL EXCEPT JESUS OF COURSE , but then we both know HE was not just a man . BEFORE ABRAHAM WAS I AM .

As far as this that you speak about , in case you have not yet realized
i dont really focus on this stuff . ME Mission
