"Works Salvation"

God cares about what we do. Our actions matter. Many become so afraid of legalism that they reject any need to live righteously as anti-Gospel, as if we save ourselves.

Yet Christ taught a Gospel of God’s singular deliverance that included—and was not separate from—a life reflecting God’s character and doing what was right.

In which codex? I looked up practices in all its forms, i.e., practice etc., in Strong's and it does not have any verse that John wrote. John never wrote that word, only "commit."

Its in the present tense.

meaning it is not past tense. or future tense. but happening right now. anytime you read it

Try reading the word and make it fit your belief system, not the other way around
EG, verses 5-10 is a contrast between Light vs. Darkness. 8 and 10 are both verses of darkness just like 6. The Christian is verse 7 because he did 9.
NO!!!!!!

IF WE SAY WE HAVE NO SIN WE DECIEVE OURSELVES, and there is no truth in us

Sin is in the same present tense.. It means right here right now. and he included himself.

You can not deny you have sin.. if you think you are sinless. You have no room to grow. you have made and achieved what even Paul could not do

I doubt a child of God. who was not given the spirit of fear, but of a sound mind, would be afraid of legalism. and want to live in sin.

God changes a person.

@Titus
Irrelevant what we believe as to election.
Nothing man believes or does affects his eternal destiny.
It is very important what we believe and teach, it must be according the the truth of the word of God.

Isaiah 8:20

“To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.”

Titus, it is very relevant what we teach, and the spirit in which we do so. If our words are not according to the scriptures, then it is because on that particular subject we have little or no light.
It doesn't matter if I'm wrong in my beliefs. I cannot affect what God has already determined.
Your beliefs about your standing with God is also irrelevant.
These are not words of a man with a concrete spirit before God, you are making mockery out of God 's determinate counsel and foreknowledge, of His knowledge of what he would do in time. A true child of God would strongly desire to be believing just as the scriptures teach on any given subject, and would fear if his understanding was even questionable against the scriptures but would spend his days laboring to speaking according to the scriptures. Titus, it would matter greatly if we were wrong, by that, I am not saying that we have it all right on every given subject that may come up, but, before God, we do labor night and day to make sure we are correct. We have corrected some of our understanding over the years, even going from where you are to where we are now. Maybe not quite as far as you are, but, we did believe in a some of your position.
I believe I'm saved.
You believe you're saved.
Titus, there's are huge difference between the two, You believe you are saved based on your obedience and faithfulness, of not only getting you saved from sin and condemnation, but keeping you saved by the same means.

I believe in Jesus Christ as my surety before the law of God. I firmly believe in Jesus Christ fulfilling the demands of God's law perfectly for me by his obedience and faith, not mine. I refuse to trust in any works of the law, the law being any commandment that said in essence THIS DO and LIVE sin and die! I hold to a salvation that Christ "secured" for his people, not a salvation that is available upon me doing certain works of a law man may put before upon me to do.

Now if you want to discussion this last paragraph with me, let us do so, in the spirit of trying to reasoning out of the scriptures for the truth. If not, then I'll move no from you.

Primitive baptists dont teach.
They don't contradict their own beliefs by trying to evangelize which is the WORK you are doing with me.
They know man plays no part in another mans election by doing works.
You are violating your own beliefs by trying to convince me of your idea or "Truth"
TUILP T, total depravity.
The totally depraved has no ability to believe the truth.
All the preaching in the world by man cannot change this.

Since Red Baker cannot know if I am created for destruction.
It is possible he is going against Gods will by trying to help me believe in reformed theology if I am one of the lost.

Too many contradictions in calvinism to be from heaven.
It is full of logical fallacies therefore must be a man made doctrine.

I'm not questioning God, I'm questioning Red Bakers doctrine,
1John 4:1,
- beloved do not believe every Spirit, but test the spirits whether they be of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world

My same question to you has been, what evidence do you have as proof you are saved?
Yet you still have given me no evidence for your supposed election.
Why are you not telling me what proof you have for your election?

We both already believe only Gods grace can save.
But how do you prove you have recieved Gods grace?

1John 4:1

Yes, no doubt about it. The New Testament clearly rejects the idea of earning salvation by works. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

To see this principle, we simply read the next verse after Ephesians 2:8-9, following the clear verses about salvation by grace and not by works. “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” We can’t be saved by good works, and weren’t, but God intentionally and purposefully saved us for good works. He set us free from the power and penalty of sin so we can live righteous, with love for all, and on mission with the Father. His command to sin no more called them to live out their new freedom.

Jesus saves us not because we earned it or could be good enough. He loved us even while we were broken and sinners. Yet he had compassion on our situation. He doesn’t want us to suffer, nor does he want us to be condemned to eternal destruction for our sins. The Father forgives us, removing our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.

We can now live right in the power of the Spirit, which is also a gift to us upon our repentance. Jesus invites us to intimacy with him, freedom, purpose, and a life glorifying God.

And when we do fall short we have an Advocate, Jesus Christ. for believers, particularly in the context of 1 John 2:1, where it states, "And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." This means Jesus acts as a defense attorney, pleading the case of believers before God the Father, especially when they stumble and sin. He is seen as a mediator, intercessor, and comforter, constantly advocating for humanity's reconciliation with God.
