"Works Salvation"

THREE most Important Truths from John 17 concerning who JESUS was/is praying for

#1 - HE was praying for the 11 disciples who would become apostles on Pentecost

#2 - HE was praying for all whom the Father gave Him = 120 were waiting for Penetcost

#3 - HE is praying for all whom the FATHER continues to give to JESUS

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), = 120 disciples of JESUS CHRIST

Dare any one of us place our words upon CHRIST's Prayer for HIS disciples!!! = i hope not

@charismaticlady @Selah @WHOEVER
Amen. Jesus was praying for all of His believers (the Elect chosen before the foundation of the world).

These:
Romans 8:28-33 (NKJV) 28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to [His] purpose. 29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined [to be] conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. 30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God [is] for us, who [can be] against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? 33 Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? [It is] God who justifies.

When you see that the Father gave someone to Jesus it is only referring to the 12 disciples including Paul. "Father gave" are key words to know it is only regarding the apostles. John 6 has these words which a whole false doctrine has come out of. Here is an example that Jesus is only speaking of His apostles and not all those at that time who believed in Him. Read all of this and tell me who did Jesus lose and who Jesus did not lose.

John 6
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

53 Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. 54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 55For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down from heaven—not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.”

59 These things He said in the synagogue as He taught in Capernaum.

60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”

61 When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? 63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life. 64 But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. 65 And He said, “Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”

66 From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”

68 But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

lol I am done my friend

You want to put yourself under a command not even the OT people had to follow feel free

You want to be saved by a baptism by hand of man and not God feel free

Your first line. Read that to yourself. Don’t be a hypocrite.
I pray that the Lord open your mind to the truth. Satan has hidden it from you, and clouded your thinking as he has done to so many who claim to be part of the Lord's Church.

religion on the mind causes the heart to be blind
to the TRUTH that is for all His "Sons"
YES, they are Mine Says the Holy ONE
Psalms 87:5-6 (NKJV) 5 And of Zion it will be said, “This [one] and that [one] were born in her; And the Most High Himself shall establish her.” 6 The LORD will record, When He registers the peoples: “This [one] was born there.” Selah

You're talking about hell fire after we die,
Thats when jesus will immerse (baptize) the lost into the lake of fire. the fire that shall never be quenched

12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but

The chaff is the lost
but the fire of the Holy Spirit is what takes you from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant? The righteousness that comes from keeping the 10 Commandments is as filthy rags. To be actually righteous the sin in the sin nature must be cleansed. That is the fire of the Holy Spirit. See the difference? We aren't talking about hell, but what makes a born again Christian that cannot commit sins against God. 1 John 3:9 So don't say you don't want the fire from Jesus. He said we MUST be born again. If you don't want that you will be lost.
No. that is caused by the baptism of the spirit.. Not fire..

@Red Baker @Eternally-Grateful

The HOLY SPIRIT Fire that God desires to Baptize us with is from the ALTAR in Heaven - Leviticus 16:11-14

“And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull as the sin offering which is for himself.
Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the Lord, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil.
And he shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die.
He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.

Leviticus 16:12-13 Fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost = Acts ch2

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all [a]with one accord in one place. 2And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them.
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
I do not see Holy Spirit fire here

I pray that the Lord open your mind to the truth.
He has
Satan has hidden it from you, and clouded your thinking as he has done to so many who claim to be part of the Lord's Church.
lol.

Keep believing this, remember, you think a work of a man immersing you in water saved you.. and not the cross itself.

Jesus said as moses lifted the serpent. so must he be risen, that whoever believes will never perish but live forever.

no water baptism required in Moses day when he lifted the serpent. or today when we look to the cross in faith

@Red Baker

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.

Correct, that means he was already Justified b4 God. You remember when God told Peter in so many words, he was cleansed Acs 10:15

15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common

That word cleansed katharizó:

cleanse, purge, purify.
From katharos; to cleanse (literally or figuratively) -- (make) clean(-se), purge, purify.

to free from the guilt of sin, to purify

Same word used in Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Cornelius was redeemed by Christ and purified unto good works, we know his works were accepted, and then he was lead to be baptized, a good work at that time

@Jim @DavidTree @Doug Brents @brightfame52 @Eternally-Grateful

Jim, just as I said, it can be easily proven that Cornelius was a born again child of God before he ever heard a word from Peter ~ Jim, he first heard heard the voice of Jesus Christ in essence saying, Cornelius come forth and live!

John 5:25

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.”

Jim, most Bible professors assume the new birth occurs when a person believes the gospel and with you..... are baptized. But the Bible does not support either of these assumptions.

In Acts chapter 10, Cornelius is a great example of a man who was born again BEFORE he ever heard the gospel, or even met Peter.

First, notice that before he met Peter or heard the gospel, Cornelius “feared God with all his house” (v.2). And from the Bible we know that those who fear the Lord possess God’s salvation (Ps. 85:9), enjoy God’s mercy (Ps. 103:17), and please God (Ps. 147:11). Unsaved men do not fear God (Rom 3:18; Ps 36:1).
Cornelius was a saved believer in God before Jesus' death. But the requirements for salvation changed from the OT to the NT, and so Cornelius needed to come to belief in Jesus under the NT. There may have been a grace period (my thought, not mentioned in Scripture at all) for those who lived during the first few years of transition from the OT to the NT. But either way, those who lived after Jesus' death and resurrection were required to come to belief in Jesus to be saved.
Second, see that Cornelius’ prayers were “come up for a memorial before God” (v.4), before he heard or believed the gospel through Peter. And Proverbs 15:29 teaches us plainly that God only hears the prayers of the righteous.
Again, you are using circumstantial evidence to contradict clear Biblical truth. We cannot be saved unless we believe in Jesus (Rom 10:9-14), and we cannot believe in Jesus unless we have heard the Gospel.
Third, observe that Peter acknowledged in verses 34-35 that God had already accepted Cornelius before Peter ever met him.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
The point of Peter's statement is not that Cornelius is already saved, but that it doesn't matter who your parents are, or from which nation you hale, or in what city you live that determines if you are acceptable to God. What makes you acceptable to God is that you fear Him and obey Him.

@brightfame52
15And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common
Brother, I could have said much more than I did, but kept it as short as possible and still get my point across. Thanks for adding to it.

Keep believing this, remember, you think a work of a man immersing you in water saved you.. and not the cross itself.
If you believe this, then you haven't understood a thing I have written, just as you don't understand Scripture. But I am tired of trying to get you to treat as valuable the pearls of God.
Jesus said as moses lifted the serpent. so must he be risen, that whoever believes will never perish but live forever.
And so you would have us believe that just because Moses lifted the serpent up, that the people bitten by serpents just had to believe that they would be healed and they were? No. They had to look at the serpent lifted up to be healed. They had to perform a physical act of getting to where they could see it, and looking at it to be healed by God (not by the bronze serpent).
no water baptism required in Moses day when he lifted the serpent. or today when we look to the cross in faith
Carry on denying the truth of God's Word. I wash my hands of you.
