What is the New Covenant?

The Old Covenant:
The Jews were like a caterpillar restricted and protected by the Cocoon of the Law.

On the Cross that Cocoon was torn in half. (
Matthew 27:51)

And out from it? Emerged a Butterfly.
That Butterfly is what we now call the Church.

The First Covenant was for instructing the "Cocoon life" of Jews.
A life to be lived while on earth in time.

The New Covenant is now offered for all who want it.
That being, anyone whom God makes "airborne" being able to be flying in the Spirit after tasting the Lord is good..

Why, to the Jew first? Only during the beginning of the Church that was applicable.

Why?

The Jews as a people were taught Scripture from childhood, and already knowing a great deal
of Scripture that applied to the promises for the church.
Because of that? Concerning the Jew? The Spirit borne life Paul was given to make the mystery
known, was to be first presented to the Jew... For, Jews having known much OT Scripture?
They would learn the quickest from Paul and be able to make application.

But, that did not last for long. For the gentile church spread rapidly throughout Rome
while many Jews resisted.

To the Jew first? Only then to the Gentile?
To first teach the Jewish convert insight about what Jews already knew from the Torah.

But, it is no longer needing to be that way as it was in the very beginning.
For, later on, all had been given Scripture via the epistles, as well as learning
from the Torah from those who could teach it.

'And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.
These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.'

(Exo 19:6)

'Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power,
but they shall be priests of God and of Christ,
and shall reign with Him a thousand years.'

(Rev 20:6)

Hello @GeneZ,

The Jew had a prior position in God's purposes, and were always placed first. Yet, it was necessary that the gospel message be preached to the Jew first because of the role they were intended to fulfil, as Priests of God among the nations. This continued throughout the Acts period. Their unbelief has caused that role to be deferred to a yet future day, but it will yet come to pass.

Thank you

I was talking about the Covenant under the Law. Not, the Jews per se.
They will continue as a chosen people of the Lord. But, they are not the church.

But, Revelation 20:6 speaks not of the Jewish Levitcal priesthood. It speaks of the Church!

'Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests
of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.'

For we as the Church are now called Royal Family of God.
Jews were not royalty. Not, the bride of the King of kings.

Here is our (the church) priesthood mentioned by Peter.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession,
that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."
1Peter 2:9
The differences?

The Jews were awaiting for the Messiah who would reign *over* them.

In contrast...
The Church is awaiting the Resurrection so we can reign *with* Him!

Two different priesthoods....

Only the little flock=the anointed bride of Christ=144,000 are apart of the first resurrection.

I meant to say the point i made, thanks.

Well its confusing then...

For you said...

Only the little flock=the anointed bride of Christ=144,000 are apart of the first resurrection.

You mean that the Church is not to be in the first resurrection? Only the 144,000 are?

How could that take place when the Marriage Supper of the Lamb will take place in Heaven when the 144,000 will still be on earth?

The 144,000 will be sitting on thrones in heaven by Jesus' side during his 1000 year reign. They remaining on earth go sometime during the tribulation( changed in the twinkling of an eye) Thats rev 20:6)--the other resurrection to earth of all those who died through all the centuries occurs here-Rev 20:13-during the 1000 year reign.
Most do not understand the judgement mentioned. God judged those who sin to pay the penalty of DEATH. Thus once dead have paid in full the wages of their past sins and are acquitted of them( Rom 6:7)-Thus Gods love is so immeasurable he will give the resurrected another chance during the 1000 year reign with no satan influences. To learn and apply his will, but as Rev 20 shows satan will be loosed for a little while to test the resurrected ones faith( the others( great crowd of other sheep) were already tested and passed into Gods kingdom on earth)-It shows some will fail and still follow satan and be destroyed. Some get their names written in Gods book of life. It would make no sense to bring the( unrepented) dead back to life just to judge them to death since they are already dead. God is LOVE, MERCIFUL.

Keiw? Does your guiding spirit have a nick name?
I am taught by those who Jesus brings into all truth via holy spirit=his real teachers on earth that he appointed=Matt 24:45, i am a mere domestic. One must be taught by these-Matt 24:45 or they remain in darkness. The food mentioned= spiritual food= Gods truth, all of Gods 1truth.
We have 1Cor 1:10-Unity of thought( all of Gods 1 truth) no division.=1 single religion has Jesus. There are hundreds claiming to be christian.
