Your point?Concerning those who were baptized - What occured FIRST?
a.) The hearing of the Word of Truth

In Acts 2:29-38 concerning those who were baptized - What occured FIRST?Your point?
They heard the word and obeyed it by obeying Acts 2:38. Have you obeyed Acts 2:38 after hearing the word?In Acts 2:29-38 concerning those who were baptized - What occured FIRST?

Yes those of Acts 2:38 were new born babes seeking spiritual guidanceThese folks were previously regenerated?...
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
I think not.
Therefore Grace is always present at the preaching of the Word and this Grace guides our hearts thru faith which leads to obedience. They heard the word and obeyed it by obeying Acts 2:38. Have you obeyed Acts 2:38 after hearing the word?
...after obeying Acts 2:38.Yes those of Acts 2:38 were new born babes seeking spiritual guidance
Before obeying, the obeyed through/by the Spirit. The Spirit causes obedience 1 Pet 1:2...after obeying Acts 2:38.
ALWAYS as you posted = ALWAYSBefore obeying, the obeyed through/by the Spirit. The Spirit causes obedience 1 Pet 1:2
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Obedience follows the Sanctification of the Spirit or regeneration
...after the initial Acts 2:38 salvation. Before obeying, the obeyed through/by the Spirit. The Spirit causes obedience 1 Pet 1:2

Acts 2 38 those were newborn babes seeking spiritual guidance....after the initial Acts 2:38 salvation.
You quoted an epistle to the saints, not sinners.
Learn the difference.
No, to the murderers of Jesus in order to obtain remission of their sins.Acts 2 38 those were newborn babes seeking spiritual guidance.
Jesus blood took care of their sins causing them to be forgiven, He gave them new life, a New Heart, now they seek spiritual guidance. No, to the murderers of Jesus in order to obtain remission of their sins.
....after they were baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins.Jesus blood took care of their sins causing them to be forgiven, He gave them new life, a New Heart, now they seek spiritual guidance.
its called bait and switch avoiding the text and the context of the verse in question and running to a proof text....after the initial Acts 2:38 salvation.

Jesus blood was shed for them before they were water baptized, remission of sins by His Blood isnt suspended until someone gets water baptized. When Christ rose from the dead after dying for the sins of the elect, He rose for their Justification, they are Justified, sins paid for and put away. If you denyy this you deny the resurrection of Christs testification Rom 4:25....after they were baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of their sins.
You propose this...
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Really means this...
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent(THOUGH YOU ARE ALREADY SAVED), and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins(THOUGH YOU ARE ALREADY SAVED), and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost(THOUGH YOU ARE ALREADY SAVED).
And that my friend, is modern theology.
If Jesus saved them before Acts 2:38 then everybody on earth is automatically saved.Jesus blood was shed for them before they were water baptized, remission of sins by His Blood isnt suspended until someone gets water baptized. When Christ rose from the dead after dying for the sins of the elect, He rose for their Justification, they are Justified, sins paid for and put away. If you denyy this you deny the resurrection of Christs testification Rom 4:25
25 Who was delivered for[because of] our offences, and was raised again for[because of] our justification.
The word Justification here dikaiōsis:
- the act of God declaring men free from guilt and acceptable to him
- abjuring to be righteous, justification
Not only were they free from guilt, forgiven, they declared righteous. Those of Acts 2:38 were righteous in the sight of God
Negative Jesus saved only His Church Eph 5:25-26If Jesus saved them before Acts 2:38 then everybody on earth is automatically saved.
Instead of per vs 37, asking "what shall we do", we need to say, "what was already done".
The church that Jesus saved obeyed Acts 2:38 starting at Pentecost.Negative Jesus saved only His Church Eph 5:25-26
