He preached the same words to the gentiles Vs 42
42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.

We are chosen to to salvation “through” , which with the dative (ἁγιασμῷ and
πίστει) indicates the means through which salvation comes is “sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:”
God, has chosen, from the beginning of time, that salvation will be by means of sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth. In other words, God chose the means of salvation, not the people who would be saved.

He chose who would be saved, therefore He chose who would believe. Believing is the evidence of the Spirits work in Salvation, in behalf of Christ.
All Three Beings in the Trinity, had a part in saving the elect. The Father chose who would be saved, the Son redeemed the same, and the Spirit spiritually sanctifies them to believe the Truth.
Jesus prayed that the ones given to Him by the Father, and He would die for, that they be sanctified in the Truth Jn 17:17-20
17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.
19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;
So the Holy Spirit provides the sanctification in the Truth 2 Thess 2:13

It doesn’t follow that the whole world is saved because Christ died for the whole world! We must believe in what Christ has done, and that alone, biblically speaking, determines who is saved.

no one is saved until they hear the gospel, believe the gospel, receive the gospel, confess Jesus is Lord- see Romans 10:9-14 for Paul's detailed explanation of the above mentioned popints.
