The continued spread of the Arian Heresy (that Jesus is not God) in JW and Unitarian Churches.

It's really frustrating that the Arian heresy (that Jesus is not God) is alive and spreading in many churches today. Arianism was exterminated many years ago. Saint Athanasius of Alexandria spearheaded the anti-Arian cause. In fact, most of the Church was Arian leaning at that time. It's only by the Grace of God, through warriors like Saint Athanasius and ratified by Church Councils, that the Church was not totally overcome by Arianism. Again, it's really frustrating that people do not consult history but instead are content to reopen viral-laden blasphemous old heresies like Arianism. If anyone is interested in this topic please tell me and I can forward more information on Saint Athanasius' victory against the Arians.

Maybe believing Jesus will help you--John 17:3-This means eternal life, their knowing you( Father) THE ONLY TRUE GOD and the one whom you sent forth Jesus Christ----You see 2 major truths taught by Jesus-1) The Father is THE ONLY TRUE GOD-2) The ONLY TRUE GOD sent another, he did not come down here=Jesus Christ was sent
Paul named only the Father as the true God-1Cor 8:6
I understand the confusion, Catholicism translated errors in centuries ago to cause the mass of confusion known as trinity religionssssssss--They absolutely fail this true mark of Jesus' 1 religion 100%-1Cor 1:10--Unity of thought( all of Gods 1 truth) no division.. What cant they understand about that simple bible milk=no division?

According to Jude 4 the only Master (despotēs) that applies to each Christian is the Lord Jesus (Jude 4).

Do you agree?

Yes, and we should say the same thing about Arminianism.
Both need to be addressed.
But I fear that Arminianism will continue and will even be a part of the apostasy that will overtake the world before Christ returns.

1.5 billion Muslims can be included within the Arian heresy.

Can you elaborate about Arminianism? I'm not an Arminian. A Bible-based Trinitarian Synergist is how I best describe myself.

The theology of James Arminius of whom the Remonstrants (his students) slightly modified his theology that was given opportunity at the Synod of the Dutch Church in 1609, and which over 150 sessions were held to determine the soundness of their submissions (the Five Points of Arminius) and in 1619 the Church rejected as heresy.
But that was not enough. The Synod addressed each point in counterargument in accordance with the prevailing creeds of the time, the orthodox Belgic and Heidelberg Confessions. Later, the Westminster Confession was drawn up (1648) that became the standard of true orthodox theology derived from Scripture.
By the way, the five-point response of the Dutch Church was eventually called the five points of Calvinism although Calvin had been dead for several decades.

So is it the the Five Points of Arminius that you take exception to? What about the Five Points of Calvinism? What would you call yourself?

calvinism did not exist until the reformation and calvin got most of his teachings from augustine who brought paganism, greek philosophy and gnosctism into the church and married it with christianity.

hope this helps !!!

Except for the Gospel of John and all those Letters from the Apostle Paul that teach the Doctrines of Grace!

Like John 6:44 “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day."
  • "No one can come to Me" = [Total Inability] - People need God to make the first move.
  • "unless the Father who sent Me" = [Unconditional Election] - God, not man.
  • " draws him;" = [Irresistible Grace] - "draw" is compel, like drawing fish in a net or a sword from its sheath ... the fish and sword have no choice.
  • "and I will raise him up on the last day." = [Preservation of the Saints] - the "him" drawn is the "him" raised in this verse ... it depends on Jesus' faithfulness, not mans.
... Are the Red Letter words from the lips of Jesus not even good enough to break through to your heart of synergistic lies about the Doctrines of Grace?

True about Augustine.
But Calvin was able to sort those things out and left us in accordance with light of God upon his studies a very good representation of the Gospel of God.
There is still a lot of false teachings in the minds of believers today.
But in the end we will all see the same Jesus.
We will all say the same thing as God.
At least true born of God believers will.

He is talking to the 12- He chose them and elected them, drawing them to Him. See my thread on Ephesians 1.

No Jesus isn't.
Reread John 6 and the events leading up to verse 44.

However, using your argument, The verse should have been excluded from the Gospel. If the statement does not apply to the Readers, then why should John bother to include it. Remember, John stated his reason for what he chose to include: it would benefit US.

Subject Heading:- 'The continued spread of the Arian Heresy (that Jesus is not God) in JW and Unitarian Churches'

'Whosoever transgresseth,
and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ,
hath not God.
He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ,
he hath both the Father and the Son.
If there come any unto you,
and bring not this doctrine,
receive him not into your house,
neither bid him God speed:
For he that biddeth him God speed
is partaker of his evil deeds.'

(2 John 1:8-11)

Not everything in John applies to us but the gospel applies to all.

2 of Jesus promises below.

1-Do you heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead ? If not why not since it applies to you.

2-Do you know all truth and remember everything Jesus taught ? If not why not since it applies to you.

I can provide dozens more examples showing what Jesus promised His disciples does not apply to everyone who is saved.

Individually, no.
Collectively (as the Body of Christ), yes. [to both].

However, you missed the point about John 6:44 NOT being addressed to the Apostles, but to the unbelieving crowd that was complaining in the paragraphs above. It STILL applies to unbelieving crowds as an explanation for why SOME believe and others DO NOT. [which is why Paul teaches the same thing ... but Jesus is pithy and Paul is verbose.]

Hello @atpollard,

When and to whom were these words addressed? :)

* During the earthly ministry of Christ and the ministry of, 'them that heard Him' (the Apostles during the Acts period) only a believing remnant were to be saved, as we read in the epistle to the Romans (9 & 11). During that period those words applied. Since then salvation has been sent to the Gentiles (Acts 28:28): it is no longer, 'of the Jews' only (John 4:22), as previously, and the church which is the Body of Christ has been created,( by revelation of God through Paul, 'The Lord's Prisoner'), of which Christ is the Head. In this company, all who believe, whatever their nationality, may come to God through faith in Christ Jesus their risen Lord individually. (see Romans 5:12-8:39 & Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, 1&2 Timothy, Titus and Philemon), and are a united company, on an equal footing, in Christ: being identified with Christ in His death, burial, quickening, resurrection and ascension to God's right hand (in spirit). They now, in newness of life before the Father, live in thanksgiving and praise as one body in Christ, 'looking for His appearing', when they will appear with Him in glory. Though oceans and distance divide them now, they are 'one' in Him.

Praise God!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
