The History of Road Salt

For as long as many of us can remember, we’ve been using salt to treat our roads and keep them safer during winter weather. However, when did we start using road salt, and how did it come to be?

It can definitely make the road safe during winter weather.

  • According to a study performed by Marquette University, road salt reduces car crashes by 88 percent, injuries by 85 percent, and accident costs by 85 percent.
  • Deicing with road salt pays for itself in just 25 minutes after the salt is spread.
  • During the first four hours after salt is applied, the direct road users’ benefits are $6.50 for every $1.00 spend on direct maintenance costs for the operation.
  • The use of road salt reduces crashes by 93 percent on 4-lane roads and by 42 percent on smaller, 2-lane roads.

- And the side effects?

Road salt can contaminate drinking water, kill or endanger wildlife, increase soil erosion, and damage private and public property. Alternative methods are needed to mitigate these drawbacks.

- It reminds me of the situation in Australia!

- Every year farmland is lost because of agricultural methods meaning farmland is contaminated by salt!

Chapter 2:11

For, what son of man knows that which is in a son of man, except only the rukha {the spirit} of a son of man that is in him? Thus also, that which is in Alaha {God}, man doesn't know, except only The Rukheh d'Alaha {The Spirit of God}.

Why Salt Is Essential for Health

While there is no healthiest salt, the mineral sustains human life and optimal bodily function. There is plenty of research on salt and how it affects your health, but rigorous studies comparing different types of salts are still lacking. Without enough evidence, it’s important to take marketing claims about specialty salts with a grain of salt.

According to Rahaf Al Bochi, RDN, LD of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and founder of Olive Tree Nutrition, salt is salt, meaning that by weight, any type of salt contains the same amount of sodium.

Both sodium and chlorine are important elements that maintain cellular balance, circulation, and blood sugar levels. Sodium is both a mineral and an electrolyte. Common electrolytes also include potassium, calcium, and bicarbonate. Without adequate sodium, your brain would not be able to send necessary electrical impulses to the rest of your body to function properly.
Just as the body requires the right amount of sodium, consuming too much salt can be unhealthy. Higher salt intake in salt-sensitive people can increase blood pressure, so doctors usually recommend that people with hypertension reduce their sodium intake or follow a low-sodium diet.

Elevated sodium levels can also cause water retention. This is considered a protective response as the body works to regulate levels of serum sodium concentration in the blood and maintain balance.

When these levels are too high, a condition known as hypernatremia can develop, which may cause excessive thirst, vomiting, infrequent urination, and diarrhea. By contrast, when sodium levels are too low, it can lead to hyponatremia, which can cause fatigue, weakness, and confusion. A blood test will determine whether your serum sodium concentration is high, low, or normal.4

One teaspoon of salt contains around 2,360mg of sodium.5 Though there are many different types of salt, they all contain roughly the same amount of sodium. This means that no salt is actually healthier than another.

- Good!

- Moreover, the food industry puts too much salt in its ready meals!

The main reason food companies add salt to their meals is to improve taste. While salt brings out the flavour in food, it also hides unpleasant tastes that remain as a result of the manufacturing process. Fat helps to give processed foods a longer shelf life.
- Think about people who can't eat food with salt!
- It has no taste!
- Jesus also speaks about salt:

Matthew 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

- Just one identical word for such an incredible language!

- Impossible to misunderstand!

- What a verse! So simple yet so full of meaning!

- They have eyes but they don’t see or better said they don’t want to see!

- They have ears but they don’t hear or better said they don’t want to hear!

1) Acts one

- After his death Jesus appeared many times to the disciples for a period of 40 days!

- And he kept speaking about the Kingdom of God!

- And he told them to stay in Jerusalem to be baptized with holy spirit!

- And they would spread the good news of the Kingdom all around the world!

- When he was telling them these things he was lifted up and he disappeared in a cloud!

- Then two men in white appeared to them and told them that they would see Jesus appearing as he left them!

- And the apostles were together with disciples for a total of 120 people!

- And Peter spoke in front of all saying that it was necessary for the scripture to be fulfilled!

- They had to choose a disciple who had been with Jesus and the apostles from the beginning to replace Judas!

- And Matthias was chosen!
But was it the Lord’s choice? Some propose that Paul, not Matthias, was God’s choice for the 12th apostle. They argue that Jesus had told the apostles to wait for the coming of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8) and that casting lots is not how the disciples should have made the decision.

- A rupture was necessary to get away with Jewish tradition!

- Human tradition is always there and as usual it is necessary to get weapons to fight it!

- And Paul was the best weapon!

- He used to be in favor and inside tradition!

- but when he was told to go against, he went straight away!

- And he never went back to it!

- So exceptional!

- When we think of 1 Corinthians, we must remember the deep connection between Alaha (Yah.weh / God) and Meshikha (the Messiah / the anointed one by Yah.weh / God)!

- It also tells about the gap between Yah.weh’s wisdom and the wisdom of the world!

- We must look for the first one if we want to get closer to Yah.weh!

- If we look for the second one we can forget it!

- With the first one, we can get our ticket for the next promised land!

- With the second one, we can only get a dead end!

- Adam and Eve chose the second one and Satan’s promise which was and still is a lie and leads to death!

- It is a proclamation of The Khayla d'Alaha {The Power of Yah.weh / God} and the Wisdom of Alaha (Yah.weh / God)!

- Yes, Wisdom from Alaha {God}, and Righteousness, and Holiness, and Redemption!

- Yes, the Demonstration of The Rukha {The Spirit of Yah.weh / God)}, and of His Power!

- Yes, 1 Corinthians 2:11 tells us about one word rukha (Aramaic) or pneuma (Greek)

For, what son of man knows that which is in a son of man, except only the rukha {the spirit} of a son of man that is in him? Thus also, that which is in Alaha {God}, man doesn't know, except only The Rukheh d'Alaha {The Spirit of God}.

- Yes, 1 Corinthians 2:12 tells us about the same word (pneuma) speaking about the spirit of the world!

God promised to bless “all the families of the earth” through Abraham (Genesis 12:3). Gentiles would be blessed along with Jews; the Messiah would be “a light to the Gentiles” (Isaiah 49:6). And when the Jewish elder Simeon saw the baby Jesus, he recognized Him as “a light to bring revelation to the Gentiles” (Luke 2:32). So when Jesus described Himself as “the light of the world” (John 8:12), it should have been immediately understood by Jewish leaders. But it was not. The Jews did not see the Gentiles as fellow heirs of God’s blessings promised to Abraham.

But by the grace given to Paul, he made this mystery known: Gentiles are fellow heirs and partakers of God’s blessing through Christ (Ephesians 3:2-6). There were clues to this revelation in the Old Testament, but Jewish leaders did not have eyes to see what God purposed to do through Christ and His Gospel. Thanks be to God; this truth is no longer a mystery—the Gospel is for everyone!

Through faith in Christ, all men and women are united in one Body. Let nothing obstruct that unity and shared blessings!

The mystery is] that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, of the same body, and partakers of His promise in Christ through the gospel.
