Regeneration is the beginning of the new heart that continues to develop in the image of Christ through sanctification.

Either you have a new heart or you do not. The Bible does not use the phrase "the beginning the new heart". It simply states the heart of stone is replaced with a heart of flesh.

It’s new, but not mature. It is able to relate to and commune with God. It is alive and teachable. It couldn’t do that before. It’s amazing what you can do when you’re reconciled with God.

Restored to a relationship with God I would not say.

Are you just trying to be difficult? The moment we receive a new heart, it is the beginning of a new life. The new heart will grow from immature to mature, from weak to strong.
