One still needs tho listen to that still small voice.
The "still small voice" scripture is found in 1 Kings 19:11-12, describing how the prophet Elijah heard the voice of the Lord after a great wind, earthquake, and fire. The passage states that God was not in the powerful phenomena but in the quiet voice that followed, which is often interpreted as God speaking gently to those who listen in stillness
You must check it against the Holy Spirit’s witness in your spirit and against the Bible to verify that the advice you have heard is the right advice for you in your given circumstance.
Only the Holy Spirit knows what is fully good and right for you on a daily basis. Any other opinion can be only a part of the full truth, which is known by the Holy Spirit.
In John 14–16, Jesus refers to the Holy Spirit repeatedly as the Spirit of truth and tells us he will lead us into all truth.We need the Holy Spirit in our lives just as much as we need a relationship with our heavenly Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.
The Holy Spirit is part of the holy Trinity—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.You need Him just as much as you need Father and Son. In fact, the Holy Spirit makes possible your ongoing Christian life and enables you both to experience Christ and to have a relationship with the Father. The Holy Spirit enables you to have a sense of victory in your Christian walk. You need Him at work in you and through you if you are to fulfill your earthly destiny in Christ and become the person that the Father created you to be. He is the voice of God.
And you also have "walking in the Spirit" That means to live a life guided by the Holy Spirit, which involves yielding to its control, obeying God's will, and not giving in to fleshly desires. It implies a consistent, daily life of spiritual progress, transformation, and obedience, rather than being ruled by sinful impulses.
There seems to be much confusion concerning the Comforter...
The spirit that all Christians have was first called the comforter by Jesus. It helps us if we are plugged into walking by the spirit.John 14:16-17
And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
Almost every English version translates John 14:17 similarly to “even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him.” Translators capitalize “Spirit” and use “he” and “him” because of their theology. The Greek word “spirit” is neuter and the text could also be translated as “the spirit of truth” and paired with “which” and “it.” The New American Bible reads “which the world cannot accept, because it neither sees nor knows it.”
