It’s a common English expression that means “ invites an obvious question.”
Don't beg the question when you already know the logic is broke.

The logic is precise.
Gene Z states anyone quoting scripture may be suspect.
Gene Z quotes scripture.
So Gene Z may be…. Suspect! By his own Rule… QED
Well, since you said it-point out those who are near habitually contrary--I was talking about those who are near-habitually contrary....
Not simply having a different view on one topic.
Gene Z I’m just quoting your first post - you accuse ( unspecified ) other of being heretics ( the thread title) , they are not “fooling anyone “despite citing scripture. You might enlighten us as to who you accuse?Just wanted some here to be aware that they are not fooling anyone just because they cite Scripture.
Not going to mention names here.Well, since you said it-point out those who are near habitually contrary--
No problem. Not going to mention names here.
And, one person since then has seemed to change his tact.
It might have been a case of playing the devil's advocate gone too far..

But it was a serious and very fair question, begged by your post and not childish at all. How can you be sure it is not you, “ fooling others” since you cite scripture too. Who made you the arbiter?
Its the protestant problem. No arbiter of disputes, but All disagree citing scripture, all accuse others of heresy, when only one version can be truth.
in other threads I’ve stated why Catholics use the arbiters they do, quoting relevant scriptire
Whats your “ arbitration”? How can you be certain of not fooling others?
I would rather "plaster" scripture over the screen KNOWING I am right-not to earn brownie points-but for Jesus glory and honor. How come I had one person in mind?
And, so many assumed it was directed to them?
Why?
I figured others would readily discern whom I was speaking about.
But, it turned out to not be the case.
I just realized that Jesus did the same thing and caused a somewhat similar reaction ....
Mark 14:17-19And when it was evening, he came with the twelve. And as they were reclining at table and eating, Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, one of you will betray me, one who is eating with me.” They began to be sorrowful and to say to him one after another, “Is it I?”
In my case, they were not sorrowful, but angry, because they failed to see to whom it was directed.
I figured that some here would have gotten my drift concerning the one I had by that time labelled "Mr. Contrary."
Everything said was wrong and he would plaster Scripture over the screen to make it look like he had to be right.
I still think he knows who I was getting at.
all of the (current presented) "bible"It always made me wonder. How?
How those who push false teachings are ready to construct Scriptural rationales using chapters and verse.
Obviously.. It does not take the Holy Spirit to memorize Scripture to create false doctrines.
It does not take regeneration! They do not have to be Spirit led.
Look how this man does it without God ... ..
