God requires man to HUMBLE THEMSELVES

So you don’t go to church and fellowship with believers correct?

I'm on this forum almost every day Civic, speaking to believers. How is it you would say that I don't fellowship with believers? And what is a Church according to Scriptures?

Church = 1577 ekklēsía(from 1537 /ek, "out from and to" and 2564 /kaléō, "to call") – properly, people called out from the world and to God, the outcome being the Church (the mystical body of Christ) – i.e. the universal (total) body of believers whom God calls out from the world and into His eternal kingdom.

I don't believe God exists in manmade temples made of wood and stone placed on earth by religious businesses who compete for contributing members by promoting doctrines and traditions of men which cause those who adopt them to transgress God's commandments. These religions existed in Jesus Time, and HE warned me that they would also exist in my time. And I believe in Him.

Matt. 6: 1 Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. 5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. 7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

The purpose of Scriptures, according to Paul, is "for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works".

The purpose of this world's religions is to convert others to the religious philosophy of one man over another, as they compete for butts to fill the seats of their manmade shrines of worship, without which their religious business could not survive.

Where two or more are gathered in Christ's Name, there is God's church.

The Scriptures do not promote the religious structure which exists in this world you are I were born into. The entire Bible warns against it. I do go to church, and I do fellowship with believers. I just don't believe God resides in the chaos and deception that is this world's religions.

What kind of church do you go to?

Doug

You have a substitute?

I believe God does provide an alternative to the chaos and confusion of this world's many different, ever changing religious sects and businesses. It's called, "The Way of the Lord". You might have heard of it. The Jesus of the Bible walked in it and instructed others to do the same.

So no brick and mortar church

I know building manmade shrines of worship is a long held religious tradition of this world's religious sects and businesses, but what I'm advocating is being learned of the Father, not this world's religions.

Acts 7: 47 But Solomon built him an house. 48 Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, 49 Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? 50 Hath not my hand made all these things? 51 Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye.

with real people you meet with face to face on a regular basis.

I meet people face to face every day, on a regular basis. Real people.

Consider your philosophy here that somehow I am lacking as a believer because I don't pick one of the religious sects and businesses which exist in the world God placed me in. Religions that the entire Bible warns me to "Beware and Take heed" of over and over again.

No body with real parts and gifts to minister to one another.
Calvinists also claim to be a body with real parts, with gifts to minister to one another. JW's as well, and Catholics, and the LDS church, and no doubt those Christians in Matthew 7 also was a body with real parts and gifts ministering to one another. If fact, it was "real people" that Jesus met face to face that rejected Him and killed Him and His people, and the Prophets before Him. They too, promoted philosophies that transgressed God's commandments. They too, built manmade shrines of worship and prayed to God with their windows open.

But the Body of Christ as it appears in Scripture, never did any of these things. In fact, the Jesus "of the Bible" said not to be like those who do.

In your religion, wouldn't all of Christ's Words be a gift to minister to one another?

No body to build one another up, no elders etc….

LOL, you guys spend day after day slamming Calvinists for listening to their adopted "elders" and building one another up with their adopted philosophies in their manmade shrines of worship on their manmade sabbaths and manmade high days while they promote their own manmade judgments. How is the religious business you have adopted and are promoting any different?

I was just asking if you met weekly with other believers regardless if it’s a church building or in a home group.

Not sure why it’s so hard to answer a simple question with a yes or a no.

Sorry Civic, this didn't seem like a "Yes or no" question to me. Not even a question mark.

It was simple I asked if you met in person with believers weekly regardless if it’s a church building or a group in someone’s home.

It could be no not in a church building and yes in someone’s home.

I think that the nature of God’s existence is far beyond what we can explain fully. We cannot possibly understand what it means to be outside of time, but perhaps the lack of time for an omnipotent God is not an issue. After all, can the element of time, or the lack thereof, limit an omnipotent being?

And the idea of eternity past is meaningless outside of assuming time. It logically demands a simultaneous being of all reality, even existence and nonexistence would have to true simultaneously.

We cannot resolve these type of issues but then again, that is why we live by faith. What ever the explanation for these questions are, arguing right or wrong is unresolvable and grace is a means of keeping the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Yup. Good post

It seems to me God would simultaneously have to know and not know the future before the decree to create were God actually timeless unless God's decree were eternally simultaneous with himself which is problematic
So God is subject to the rules of time?
