Dichotomy or Trichotomy?

In any discussion of the construct or essence of man and God, I believe a choice must first be made in the various aspects of existence within both distinctions.

I believe it is essential every person make a decision relative to discussion of

Dichotomy vs Trichotomy?

What say you?

Paul talks about man being trichotomy. Body, soul and spirit. 1 Thess 5:23. We will have all 3 in the Resurrection.

Option 3- tetrachotomy . See Mark 12:30 :)

Is this your position? Just want to make sure that is why you posted it.

I posted it because of the conclusion : “Trichotomy vs. dichotomy of man - which view is correct? It would seem that it is unwise to be dogmatic. Both theories are biblically plausible. Neither interpretation is heretical.”

I feel differently on the importance. I agree on the fact it is not heretical.

I believe Trichotomy can assist with resistance to seeing/recognizing the "Spirit of God" as a distinct "Person" in the Holy Trinity.

I understand. I felt the same way as you do about it when I was a trinitarian.

All analogies for the Trinity are bad.
