1Ch 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

Notice how our resident "hyper-Calvinist" references "God" as Satan..... So kind and generous of him

2 Samuel 24:1. Who incited him to number Israel again????

Can you read 1Ch 21:1 And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

2 Samuel 24:1 was added by an enemy of God and you believe it. There are Greek OT manuscripts that agree between 1 Ch 21:1 and 2 Samuel 24:1.

Not that you know this. You obviously don't. So much for your vast knowledge.

You're equating God and Satan. God must really like this.... right?

Who incited David to number Israel in 2 Samuel 24?

Added by a enemy? LOL Who? Tin foul hat time?

Your Bible is contradictory. Mine is not. God doesn't contradicts Himself. Satan is not God. God is not Satan.

You obviously are not prepared for discussions such as this.

I mean seriously.... You're really immature in theology. Do you really not know there is such a theological system of study called "textual criticism"....

The people that translated your Bible do. So much for study on your part. You're just parroting Satan and his minions.

And someone has been schooled and refuses to deal with facts. Case in point.

In 2 Samuel 24 Who incites David to number Israel? A sin

2 Samuel wasn't written in English. There are many copies of 2 Samuel 24. Some of them disagree with one another.

You obvious prefer the ones that blame God for what Satan did. I know why. You're showing you're "Total Depraved."

From a Calvinist far more learned than @Presby02

John Gill....

and he moved David against them; not the Lord, but Satan, as may be supplied from 1Ch_21:1; or "it moved him"; the anger of the Lord, as the last mentioned writer interprets it; or the heart of David, as Ben Gersom; that is, the evil imagination of his heart,

Exactly. God, was angry and used Satan to incite David to number Israel. Just as He did in tempting Job. God being the primary cause, Satan the efficient cause. God simply removed His restraint of Satan and allowed Him to incite Him. Now your catching on.

I don't think you have a clue what your talking about. It's simply a lame attempt to get around the text.

Speaking of the text, ho incites David to number Israel in 2 Samuel 24??

Yes,
choosing to allow a sinner to do a particular expression of the evil desire in his heart is NOT the same as forcing a person to do a sin you have chosen for him to do by your will.

If GOD allowed Satan to sin the sin he wanted to do then it is Satan's sin, not GOD's...even if HE restrained him from other sins.

Exactly? You're a liar of epic proportions. God didn't use Satan at all.

YOU said it was the LORD....

Gill said it wasn't the Lord. I'll highlight it again....

not the Lord, but Satan, as may be supplied from 1Ch_21:1;

No matter what you "imagine" in your mind. What you've said and what Gill said are not even remotely the same. Like Satan, you have no problem lying over and over again. Everyone can see it.

God wasn't involved at all.

Gill said it was Satan.

In like manner, Adam Clarke comments

He moved David against them - God could not be angry with David for numbering the people if he moved him to do it; but in the parallel place (1Ch_21:1) it is expressly said, Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

Just a reminder: Satan cannot do anything without God's permission.

Example: And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.

Can't do anything? That is a very bold statement from someone that applies "anything" to a verse detailing what happened to Peter when he denied Christ.

Interesting that the Scriptures prove you wrong. Even from the same man.....

Can you read what Peter wrote below?

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

I'm curious why you choose now to respond indirectly to me when you've taken so long to respond to me at all?

Care to have a candid conversation about this? or will you continue to ignore me?

Doesn't God uphold and sustain all things? Did He have to have God's permission to tempt Job?

In 2 Samuel 24 who is it that moves David?

You think that anyone with even the smallest amount of experience in theology would understand the contradictions that take place in the historical narratives of the kings. There are several others. Satan has always worked among the "scribes".

Context it’s the universe not people that us being upheld . Nice try but another failure with your inability to exegete scripture without a bias - eisegesis is the result
