Confessing Christ

1 Corinthians 12:13 - Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except BY the Holy Spirit.
Um this is 1Cor 12:13

1 Corinthians 12:13 (ESV) — 13 For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

its

1 Corinthians 12:3 (ESV) — 3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.

I know. Thanks. :)

Confession is made UNTO Salvation. You can try to twist this all you want. Paul was right. You are not.
On a different Christian forum site, someone who attends the church of Christ tried to make the argument that the word 'UNTO' in Romans 10:10 - "believes UNTO righteousness" and "confession is made UNTO salvation" simply means 'towards' salvation, but not saved yet and salvation finally occurs after water baptism. o_O
What exactly did you believe about Jesus for many years? What was the content of your belief?

Its unbelievable that people actually believe the waters of baptism save. They place is above the actual living and abiding word of God- the gospel of our salvation- the power of God unto salvation. Romans 1:16-17. And they place the water above the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the actual One who saves/regenerates man, not the water.

Amen brother! Such people would walk around mountains of grace (Acts 15:7-11; Romans 5:1-2; Romans 5:15-18: Ephesians 2:8,9 etc..) in order to find water.

I never said that. Did you pray to God to get saved or were you just "boom" saved?

A prayer of salvation is confession of God.

How do I confess if I can't talk? Belief in the heart us not quite good enough?

Belief isn't enough. Confession is giving up any and all resistance.

I believed God for many many years. What I believed about Him changed. I finally realized that I didn't know Him. We I asked in confession for God to save me realizing that I didn't know Him. It changed my life.

You think you know God but you may well not know Him at all. Anyone can do what you're doing here.

Did you pray for God to save you?

Prior to placing my faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and becoming saved, I had previously prayed to the Lord to show me exactly what I needed to do in order to become saved. I had no assurance of salvation and was trusting in works for salvation prior to my conversion. The Lord convicted my heart (Romans 3:23; 6:23) and led me to faith in Christ. (Ephesians 2:8,9) Now I have assurance of salvation. (1 John 5:13) Praise the Lord! :)

Belief is not enough? Again, what I'd I unable to confess?

So you never prayed to God when you "got saved"?
