Christian and Catholic!

Justification is in effect us being given Gods righteousness..

So far you have no scripture that says Abraham was justified in Genesis 15.

He was justified in Genesis 12.

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 3:8

He was justified in Genesis 22.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
James 2:21

blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
Genesis 22:17-18

Justification is in effect us being given Gods righteousness..

That did not happen when Abraham offered his son.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
James 2:21

Who was justified when He offered His son on the altar?

Moses?
Ezekiel?
Noah?
Peter?
Abraham?

You get 5 guesses.

Here is Paul expounding on Genesis 12, saying God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand…

How did Abraham respond to God preaching the Gospel to him?

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8

Here is the writer of Hebrews expounding on Genesis 12…

Do you understand the term “obeying the Gospel”?

Do you understand the term “the obedience of faith”?
Sure I do. You're reference an event in the life of Abraham. However, you might not know that Stephen talked about Abraham in Acts 7. Which one of the greatest sermons recorded concerning Israel. Most people don't know it exists. Few people actually read the Bible they say they love.

Act 7:2 And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

Now pay attention to what you read. Pay attention to timing. Abraham was a man of faith. Which is why God appeared to Abraham.

Your timing is off.

Please share the scriptures that teach us this…

I already have.

Gen 18:17 And the LORD said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do;
Gen 18:18 Seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?
Gen 18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

It is one of the greatest statements that God ever made about any man in the Scriptures. God trusted Abraham.

Can you imagine what it was for God to trust a man?

Faith is generational. Abraham was influenced by the faith of Noah. Don't believe everything the faithless writers of the Midrashs said about Haran and Terah. .

Paul spoke of how the faith of Timothy began in His grandmother.

2Ti 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.

Ah. A searcher. God both.... Just and the Justifier of sinners.

You don't have it exactly right but you're changing. The Son was a willing sacrifice. Isaac was young. Stronger than Abraham. He could have overpowered Abraham. When Abraham drew back the sword to slay his son, Isaac turned his neck toward the blade.

There is beautiful picture of the Atonement to be found in this......

Can you read?

Please read this words.

Yes. and when did we see Abraham believed and was given Gods righteousness.

Gen 15..

moving on.

Fact is. He was not justified (saved) when he offered his son, he was saved decades before.

which is the origional argument, which you are running from..

James 2:21

Who was justified when He offered His son on the altar?
He was SAVED IN GEN 15 or GEN 12 however you want to determin it

So he was NOT SAVED when he offered his son

the term justified used by James, is not the same justified that saves Abraham was already saved..

What abraham did was PROVE HIS FAITH.

Yes. and when did we see Abraham believed and was given Gods righteousness.

Gen 15..

Genesis 12 is where Abraham was saved by obeying the Gospel. He was justified in which he was therefore declared to be righteous by God.

After salvation God indeed takes us through many more dealings and from faith to faith.

He was SAVED IN GEN 15 or GEN 12 however you want to determin it

He was saved in Genesis 12.

This is what scripture teaches.

Here is all three scriptures that pertain to Genesis 12, and are recognized as such.

Now the LORD had said to Abram:
“Get out of your country,
From your family
And from your father’s house,
To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him

Genesis 12:1-4

And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, “In you all the nations shall be blessed.” So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. Galatians 3:8

By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. Hebrews 11:8

Each of these 3 scriptures teaches us an important facet about the obedience of faith.

Abraham demonstrated the pattern by which we are saved by faith.

By faith literally means God spoke to a person and they did what He said.

No one is saved except by obeying the Gospel.
