A must see. Argue with this...

Ever read the introduction to the KJV from the translators?

The people that literally made the KJV don't even agree with KJVO, lol.
The video contributors celebrate the former versions to 1611 along with the 1611 translators celebrating them.

That's a lot of celebration!

Look at what they wrote:

"But we desire that the Scripture may speak like itself, as in the language of Canaan, that it may be understood even of the very vulgar."

I guarantee you a person on the street won't understand half of the KJV.

And also:

"Therefore as S. Augustine saith, that variety of Translations is profitable for the finding out of the sense of the Scriptures"

perhaps most famously 1 John 5:7. Click here for a list of KJV errors.

If you dont understand it, then yes.

But when we understand the verse....as .....John 1:10...... IS Colossians 1:16... IS......John 1 "and the Word became Flesh"...... IS... "The Word Was God"..

See, when we believe a real Bible,...... we read "I am from Above, and you are from below"... and THEN.... We understand that Jesus is referring to Himself here..

= "Let US.......make man in OUR.... image".

Us = Our.... that is 2..... God + Pre-Incarnate Word.

Add the Holy Spirit = 3

3<>1

A 5 yr old can understand this, but a "original greek" " bible scholar".... is "stumpt'd".

You are aware that Elizabethan English is different from and not the same as American English right ?

And that so many of those same words used in the KJV have changed meanings over time right ?

One must have a lexicon handy to rightly understand the KJV unless your primary language is Elizabethan English.

Condemnation of Previous Translations?

The Preface to the 1611 KJV is eleven pages in length. It gives glory to God for his Word, while at the same time defending its own translation of the Scripture. However, the 1611 KJV translators state that while there are "imperfections and blemishes" in other translations of the Bible that all previous English translations could rightly be called the Word of God. The 1611 Preface states:

No cause therefore why the word translated should be denied to be the word, or forbidden to be current, notwithstanding that some imperfections and blemishes may be noted in the setting forth of it.
Now to the latter we answer; that we do not deny, nay we affirm and avow, that the very meanest translation of the Bible in English, set forth by men of our profession, (for we have seen none of theirs of the whole Bible as yet) containeth the word of God, nay, is the word of God.
And to the same effect say we, that we are so far off from condemning any of their labours that travailed before us in this kind, either in this land, or beyond sea, either in King Henry's time, or King Edward's, (if there were any translation, or correction of a translation, in his time) or Queen Elizabeth's of ever renowned memory, that we acknowledge them to have been raised up of God for the building and furnishing of his Church, and that they deserve to be had of us and of posterity in everlasting remembrance.

The 1611 translators never outrightly condemned other good-faith translations of the Bible like KJO advocates do today, but understood that any translation could be improved upon — including their own. Note that renowned the Greek scholar, Daniel Wallace, said there have been multiple revisions [according to Thomas Nelson the NKJV is the fifth major revision] and some 100,000 changes to the 1611 KJV since its original printing (Why So Many Versions?, Biblical Studies Press, 1997). This is significant, and, of course, some changes were more drastic than others. If memory serves me correctly, around 421 were word changes and the remainder printing errors, spelling standardization, etc. Needless to say, the 1611 KJV has definitely been improved upon since its original production.

Fallible Translators?

Importantly, we're all sinners (Rom. 3:23) and are fallible, and so all translations are done by fallible men — even the 1611 KJV.The translators of the 1611 KJV Bible understood this. However, KJO advocates claim the Holy Spirit completely superintended the translators of the 1611 KJV and so it is without error. But if this is so, then why have there been so many revisions? Why has there been over 100,000 changes? Even the 1611 translators recognized the difference between their work and that of the apostles when they wrote: "For whatever was perfect under the sun, where Apostles or apostolick men, that is, men endued with an extraordinary measure of God's Spirit, and privileged with the privilege of infallibility, had not their hand?"

Okay, fine I will watch THE ENTIRE VIDEO and comment as I do...

Through the first 30 minutes... just basic translation history literally nothing I didn't already know.

Every quote and argument used about the common person understanding Scripture works against the KJV in modern society.

Getting to KJV history we see the motives for translated were all political power and corrupt.

Then we start listing how super smurt all the translators were, well so they should be—and it isn't amazing how all those super smurt guys decided not to change the majority of text from previous translations? Which shows they weren't that necessarily if they didn't make that huge amount of changes anyway.

At about 1 hour a bunch of baseless claims of determining ancient accuracy.

Then just "oh no, changes were made." Just like the KJV itself made changes. Verses "just taken out," oh, the paranoia is real, oooooh, "GONE, GONE, GONE." Except the majority of these verses are included in footnotes or reduplicated in other places in Scripture, which the video does not tell you, misleading you.

SCREAMING is not an argument.

More paranoia about certain textual variations and such, that can all be explained—but the video gives the opposing view no voice. Just more screaming about "THEY ARE RIPPING VERSES OUT BECAUSE THEY HATE GOD AND LOVE SATAN." It's ridiculous.

They give you ZERO understanding of why the choices were made, the video just INDOCTRINATES you and TELLS YOU WHAT TO BELIEVE, without giving you the actual information behind it, and letting you make your own decision.

I'm now at 1:30:00. Nowhere are the two quotes I gave from the translators "covered" yet, but I'm sure since you promised they will soon be "covered."

I can't wait...

More empty preaching about "corrupting" the Bible where they force their own idea of corrupt.

The difference between Matthew 7:14 in the KJV and NKJV at 1:40:00, is laughably minute, and they are going on and on and on about it.

If you care so much about minute accuracy, how can you advocate anything but studying the original languages themselves? It makes no sense.

At 1:45:00. Can't wait for my two quotes to be "covered"!!!

"All kinds of heresy in modern versions. KJV IS AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME." No arguments, just mindless declarations.

Now, "Don't be shy about being mindlessly indoctrinated! STAND STRONG FELLOW BRAINWASHED BROTHERS! IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE KJV IS THE PRESERVED BIBLE, YOU DON'T HAVE A BIBLE!"

At 1:50:00. Ten minutes to "cover" my quotations. I'm so excited.

* Dramatic music intensifies *

1:52:00, the credits are rolling it is over.

I'm so disappointed. My quotes were not "covered' at all.

Now consider what the quotes from the translators of the KJV mean:

1. The KJV translators expressly said they wanted the BIble in the most understandable common English—their old version is no longer this.
2. They expressly said they wanted the entirety of manuscipts and evidence to be studied—many new manuscripts have come to light.

Conclusion: They themselves would in a modern day context reject their old version.

Nothing in this video contradicated that.

I learned nothing new, and what you promised was false. Dramatic music does not redeem inane content.

You literally lied to me and I had to waste 45 minutes (x 2.5) of my life to prove that.

I mean do you offer a refund? Pay me for my wasted time?

Or at least offer an apology?

I don't recommend this documentary to anyone.

Are you of the group they mentioned that believes the pure word of God is still buried in the ground? as per Dr. White of CARM?

Hello there,

I have always used the KJV, I love it. It requires that I think carefully, and search deeply, and therefore has led me, by the grace of God, on wonderful journeys of discovery, that a surface reading would not have revealed: The Holy Spirit uses it to arrest the attention, and draw the mind to truths not necessarily visible to the eye. It saddens me that there are so many different versions today, for it is an obstacle to fellowship, at least I find it so. I refer to other versions sometimes, such as the Revised version, or MKJV, if I feel I need to, but the KJV is my Bible of choice.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus

Great post. The modern versions are only commentaries at best.

If there is a word in my KJV I don't know, I look it up in an old dictionary.

All children can read KJV Bibles.

Many adults seemingly cannot.

This is a phenomenon.
