Peter calls the Church, Body of Christ a Nation here 1 Pet 2:9

Paul is clear when he tells Titus in 3:5: "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy ... "

Yet Paul had previously told Titus in 2:14 that "Christ Jesus ...gave Himself for us ... to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, zealous for good deeds."

So we're not saved by good deeds, but we are saved to be "zealous for good deeds".

One really has to work hard (no pun intended) to misunderstand this.

Even all the good prayers and alms Cornelious did , STILL he had to hear the gospel and believe
TO be saved .
That is HOW GOD chose to save this world . HE sent the SON so that all who do Beleive Would not PERISH

OH indeed it is my friend . It is just that not all of israel IS OF ISRAEL .
The KINGDOM of GOD . The israel of GOD , the Jerusalem of GOD
wherein the temple is GOD and the lamb .
Wherein those who BELIEVE GOD , HIS TESTIMONY that HE gave of the SON
are of this KINGDOM that is ABOVE and by the SPIRIT is within the true sheep .
It consists ONLY of the believing jew and believing gentile .

God has NOT left national Israel. And just as the apostles were to go to the nation of Israel first with the gospel, Romans 11 shows us that when the last Gentile that will be saved has received and believed the gospel, then as 2 Thess. 2:8-12 says, the rest of the Gentiles will receive from God a strong delusion to believe and follow after the Antichrist. Then all national Israel will be saved. The antichrist has not yet been revealed, but when he does make himself known, we know that there will be only 7 years before our Savior comes again. Revelation 12 and 13.

the result is his death is applied to us and our sins are forgiven.

in other words. just as he died. we died with him.. we were united together (baptized) into his death

I think people know. His spirit testifies with our spirit that we are his.

I knew I was not the same immediately. But for years after. I still experience it. I have no doubt.

What on earth makes us even think This world has seven years left .

Putting off the sins of the body . Thar we may now live UNTO righteouness .
ITS MEANS THEY GONNA HAVE TO stop following this other sin accepting jesus
that has cliamed they live , AND YET THEY ARE DEAD IN SIN . many have not been born again

Its always been the Church, that received the Truth. The Saints Deut 33:3

Yea, he loved the people; all his saints are in thy hand: and they sat down at thy feet; every one shall receive of thy words.
The disciples were the Saints Jn 17 8-9

I know what you mean. When I was first baptized with His Spirit I felt a dark heaviness leave my body. It was the sin from my nature. I am now clean, John 15:3.

As a side note, the prayer of John 17 1-19 is for the apostles. They are the only ones the Father has "given" the Son.
