Why I Don’t Believe in Calvinism Anymore after 10 Years

I don't completely agree with this guy (a little too Flower-esque), but I still found it interesting.

Another interesting (still Flower-esque) testimony:
I have listened to her testimony before with her and her husband. She has some good things to say about her personal journey and experience with her faith.

Oh wait she was never a calvinist lol- she doesn't understand calvinism- yet she explained tulip and compatibism better than most calvinists.

The difference with her and I was I was the one questioning my beliefs and how they lined up with Gods character. That is where my journey out of Calvinism began . She had a good friend challenge her in Nov 2019.

Like she said can you imagine trying to tell and explain the gospel to your children and then wrestle with election and that one or some of your kids could be reprobates from the foundation of the world and are the non elect and that God ordained them to be children of wrath eternally and that the gospel cannot save them.

As Calvin said: its a horrific doctrine. It mocks the gospel which is why its horrific because God really doesn't love most He really hates them and created them for damnation.

Yikes

I actually respect sincere Calvinists who are willing to put doctrine above their personal preferences.

Although God is love, the combination of his holiness is something Christ assured us would bring possibilities of being offended at God.

So, although we should support the view of a maximally loving God, we should be careful to realize that it will not always be the way we personally want it.

She is right with philosophy and logic in Calvinism and church history with Augustine who influenced Calvin with Greek philosophy.

Of course as we all should. Not just to do with Calvinism but with all Bible subjects....it can be hard for people to change their belief systems.

Some of it can be due to age....all their lives they've held to certain position so what does that say about their intelligence or discernment? ? It's a bitter pill for some to swallow that they might have been wrong. Also how much time and money they've invested in it going to college or seminaries buying books and paying for education, or spending years on web sites defending their views. Is it possible they can admit they've wasted their time? I do believe some would rather die then admit they are wrong about something or anything.

Just remember it's important not to look down on people for their mistakes or assume the worst motivations to them.

I ate crow after 40 plus years it’s definitely humbled me as I was a very proud Calvinist who loved defending tulip

I must agree, It's a tough one. But that's why Jesus left us the Holy Spirit.

But now I am going back to the Father who sent Me, and none of you asks Me where I am going. You are very sad from hearing all of this. But I tell you that I am going to do what is best for you. That is why I am going away. The Holy Spirit cannot come to help You until I leave. But after I am gone, I will send the Spirit to you. - John 16:5-7

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. All that belongs to the Father is mine.

We must rent that was a direct promise to His disciples. They wrote scripture which is all truth . We are not His Apostles who have that promise . If that were the case there would be no denominations . No Arminians , no Calvinists etc
