You’ll discover, among others things, when you do that the avatar I use comes from that source.

Its a nice avatar.

It reminds me of Jesus looking for that one lost sheep., or that story about Jesus meeting the little boy who would become Stephen the Martyr.

Ever read it?

And it came to pass in the late spring of the year that a very young shepherd boy was looking for a lost sheep who had become separated from his family's flock.
And while searching near the base of Mt Tabor near lower Galilee, he found a Holy Man kneeling and praying alone near the sea.
The little boy turned quickly to leave, respectfully hoping not to disturb the Man's prayer, and the Holy man said...... Dont leave, i was waiting for you..

The little boy turned again to face the Holy Man and said... You were waiting for me? How did you know i would be here today?... And the Man said....Its because you and i are doing the same thing today...... And the little boy said... what is that?.... And the Holy Man said, smiling....we are both looking for lost sheep..

The little boy said..... ah, you too have lost some sheep? ... And the man said... Well, truly i tell you that many are lost and im looking for them all.
I was sent to bring them home to my Father.... And the boy said... Are your sheep hard to find also?... And the Man said... Sheep can be difficult.

The little boy said... you told me you knew i would be here today.. How did you know that?
And the Holy Man said.... Because i knew you before you knew me.. And the boy said... How can that be?.... And the Man said, .. Well, you see....With me, all things are known, and all things are possible.

The little boy said.... that is amazing !.. Can you tell me also about my family? And the Man said.. Yes, your mother is Ruth and your abba is Adam, and you have one sister whom you like to call Queen Esther because you say she always has to be the center of all the attention....
..... She loves you very much....Stephen.

At this the little boy blushed and smiled and felt suddenly that he loved this Holy Man, but didn't know why.
And then the little boy said.... Can you tell me what i will be when i grow up? And The Holy Man, now smiling stood up and opened His arms and took the little boy and hugged Him, and said.. Yes Stephen, i can tell you that you will be a mighty man of Valor, and you will be a faithful and good shepherd of The Truth, and at the end of your life you will see Me stand up in Glory and coming to get you...

The little boy started to cry, and the Holy Man continued to hug Stephen and smile......

Sometimes a new version can help process it again when we get too used to a certain wording.

I've found a lot of help in exploring different translations.
ditto my primary is the NASB but I also use the NIV and sometimes other dynamic equivalent translations and some thought for thought ones as well. our Thursdat night group has around 5 or 6 different translations used my the group.
for a moment there i thought you guys were talking about bibles in different languages.. .. my first language was spanish... but the bible i first started studying when i was still a child was a king james bible in english.....(a stolen gideons bible - but don;t worry i wasn;t the one who stole it)...... but we have multiple english versions of the bible in the house such as the kjv... both nasb20 and nasb95.... (the 3 i use the most).... .plus several others including the niv - (some of which might collect dust now and then... but not for long)..... plus we also have bibles in spanish.. latin.. french... and hawaiian -> (which is the one i use most on sundays and use in sunday school).... ..

2 of my room mates are from china and have bibles in chinese... which they keep in their room... we plan to obtain a larger one for the main book case.. but haven;t so far because only one other person in the household speaks chinese but she doesn;t read it...... ......i speak japanese ..(my official 3rd language).... but haven;t obtained a japanese bible either because i don;t read that languages characters .... ..

when i study the bible i always try to cross reference different versions and sometimes the same sections in different languages too.... ...it helps to get a broader understanding of what was being said... ....

Great to have several translations to help see how certain words/phrases are translated from Greek/Hebrew into English.
