The Virgin Birth

yes it is a miracle

did it happen at conception (did God enter the one celled organism)

or did it happen at birth, when the "breath of life: was given to the body bore by the mother?
at conception.

The Bible teaches the preexistence of the eternal Son of God. In Isaiah 9:6, the child who is “born” is also the son who is “given.” In like manner, Galatians 4:4 also teaches the preexistence and virgin birth of Christ: “God sent His Son, born of a woman.” The virgin birth is important because that was the means by which “the Word became flesh” (John 1:14). The incarnation is when the eternal Son of God took on human flesh; without losing any of His divine nature, He added a human nature. That miraculous, history-changing event took place in the Virgin Mary’s womb.

hope this helps !!!

lol..

It brings what happened to the lord of heaven into perspective

it actually broke me the first time I heard it. to think God did that for me.'

Have you ever seen the chosen.. it is sort of depicted in there. and in fact. the Christmas story shows that not only was the baby suckling. it was wrapped in swaddling clothes. He was also born in a stable,

talk about the God of heaven coming in humble means..
Amen

God FORMED the first man out of dirt .
He spoke all that is into existance .
It aint too hard for HIS WORD to then become flesh .
Now to the trenches one and all . In all that we do and say MAY IT HONOR the GLORIOUS LORD
Every man except adam was/is created in the womb. That is where human life begins. Not at birth. This is just a scientific fact which is why we call (as does the bible ) abortion - murder.

Exactly. Just one small correction. Every man except Adam AND woman Eve, was/is created in the womb

yes amen

a zygote is a one celled organism,

the cells then multiply and starts to form an embryo

the embryo keeps on forming and a fetus is developed

the fetus keeps growing and maturing until birth. Until then, it is fully dependent on its mother.
I agree that Jesus was birthed as a baby who seemingly grew in Mary.

But question.... I do not disagree with how you explained the cycle but seeing as it was the Holy Spirit who came upon Mary, is there not a more miraculous explanation of Jesus' conception. (Or one we have no need to know?)

Sperm fertilizes the egg. (A zygote)

Now being that it is doubtful the Holy Spirit himself had sperm.... I do not think the normal human experience from beginning to end applies here.

ok we will just agree to disagree

sorry bro. Jesus created the heaven and the earth. he created the body he would soon enter to become the son of God in human form.

he did not enter a zygote. he had no reason to. it would not do anything to add to his purpose.

He may have entered some time after the fetus was fully formed. or he may have entered after borth

But I see no reason God entered a one celled organism.

again, I agree to disagree. not worthy the division

Or God, who is omnipotent. Touched the seed of mary, and created a zygote

This is the more important concept in my view. then when Jesus entered, we all believe he did. just differ in time

the more important message is why the virgin birth.. why did God just not enter a body Mary And joseph created together?

Did God become man after he was born or was he God in Mary’s womb?

Yes, Jesus was the God-man while in the womb of Mary. In Hebrews 10:5, a passage that refers to Christ, we read, “So when he came into the world, he said, “Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you prepared for me.” The human body begins in the womb.

This also fits with the gospel accounts which attribute Mary’s conception and pregnancy to the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit. That which was in Mary’s womb was spoken of as the “holy offspring” who “shall be called the Son of God.” While the Greek text of this verse, Luke 1:35, is difficult to translate, it literally says, “that which is begotten or conceived, is holy, he shall be called the Son of God.”

Matthew adds to this truth when he wrote, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, because the child conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 1:20). This is immediately followed by the words, “She will give birth to a son and you will name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins”.

The child in the womb of Mary was called the Son of God. He would be true humanity and undiminished deity united together in one person by the miracle of the virgin birth. Without the virgin birth He would have a sinful nature like us and would not have been qualified to become our substitute for sin. As true humanity, he could be our representative; as sinless humanity, he was qualified to die for our sins. Without the conception in the womb, he would not have been true humanity.

There was a "Gnostic heresy" not too many years after the birth of Christ that taught that Christ only came on the person of Jesus after his birth. Such a Jesus could not save us and would be no different from any other so-called religious leader who had sins of his own.

Yes thanks that is a very gnostic idea that the Son was not in the womb. Cerinthus's, ( the Gnostic ) taught that the "Christ" (the divine spirit) came upon Jesus at his baptism and departed just before his crucifixion.

Her purity. That was verifiable.

A body you PREPARED FOR ME

It is prepared in the womb.

lol. all this gnostic stuff

If Jesus came into the body AT birth, he could still take on our sins..

to say otherwise.. I just can;t figure..

this is way out there.

Never heard anyone say this in my lifetime

but may explain why @Aeliana falsly accused me, because she misunderstood what I was saying and tried to paint me as a Gnositc.

Thats why I hate isms.. Just listen to the people and what they say, don't try to put them in a basket.. there would be so much less frustration in posts.

Its a historical fact of Gnosticism which infiltrated the early Church and the Apostles hve written against their heresies. 1 and 2 John calls their teaching the very spirit of antichrist.
I do not doubt this brother.. I can sadly believe this

but I have not heard anyone in this thread preach this..
