The Text refutes what Calvinism teaches

God's choice in His Son from the beginning.....

Similar thing happened to me but I wasn't reading the Greek source. I was simply reviewing what Paul was citing. I ended up in Isaiah 42 and saw God's choice in "His Elect" and I've believed it ever since that moment.

Christ is the elect. Election is in Christ. One becomes elect when in Christ

I can well appreciate it can be very difficult for one to realize they're been wrong as this former Calvinist states. One should be encouraged though not to let that hold you back from embracing ones new realization they've received and going for it. One might ask though what am I saying about myself in so doing? Does that mean I've been a failure for such a long, long time for having embraced a wrong way of thinking? One's should be encouraged to know look everybody I mean everybody has probably made mistakes in other type of assessments on different subjects. Everybody has more than likely been in the same type of boat about something I know that I have.

Wrong. Nowhere does the Bible say you "become elect" or you become chosen.

Another Provisionist presupposition
Read

Ephesians 1:3 (KJV 1900) — 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Name a spiritual blessing having to do with soteriology that is not in Christ

Then consider how one gets in Christ

Ephesians 1:13 (KJV 1900) — 13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

It does not say you "become elect". God chooses you because you chose Him. Nether proposition is ever uttered in the pages of scripture.

Another, of many, Provisionist presuppositions.

The Father chose His Son. Jesus Christ. God didn't choose you. Christ is the primary choice. Not YOU.

Conformity proves this fact. You need to be conformed. Christ is Eternal and always pleased the Father.

You dishonor Jesus Christ.

Oh... BTW....

Pro 1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
Pro 1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
Pro 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

Yes reading and comprehension are two entirely different things as we are witnessing:)

Still nothing about God choosing those who chose Him. Noting about "becoming elect".

It clearly notes all spiritual blessing pertaining to salvation are in Christ

and that includes the election of verse 4

Your theology seeks soteriological blessing outside of Christ and is therefore unbiblical

And your position is as well. Nowhere is it written you become elect, your words, or God chooses those who choose Him.

Sorry election is clearly in Christ

Ephesians 1:3–4 (ESV) — 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

And you are included in Christ when you trust in him

Ephesians 1:13 (ESV) — 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

Nope. Tom utters words nowhere found in scripture.

"Election is in Christ"

Another Provisionist presupposition. They are piling up.

What is your problem? Your requirement is senseless.

What you do have is Christ being the primary choice. Which makes all subsequent actions "in Christ". Which is why the Scriptures say "in Christ"....

Yeah. You don't care about Christ do you.......

You only care about what you believe is God's choice in YOU....... Christ is only a means to end for you.

Don't you think God is smart enough to know when you're only thinking about yourself?

BTW. You're wrong.

Luk 6:13 And when day came, he called his disciples and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles:

Where those "not chosen" elect? Go for it. Lets see where this goes.
