The Doctrine of the Resurrection of Christ

A theory that bit the dust: (hopefully this hasn't been covered already, I haven't read far back into the thread)..
Jesus only swooned on the cross and was revived in the cool of the tomb.
For this to happen:
1) He had to have survived a spear thrust to the side on top of the brutal beatings before getting on the cross.
So if he somehow survived that..bloodied and beaten with severe blood loss..
2) He had to survive the tightly wrapped linen cloth..mostly dead already. This would usually suffocate any life left.
So if he somehow survived that (getting absolutely ridiculous now)
3) In his severely weakened state He would have had to roll the stone away on the tomb entrance without help.
So let's say He even did that. (Now he is basically God anyway since He can do all this half dead)
4) He has to get past the guards at the tomb who would be executed if they let something happen to the body.
5) Now let's just be stupid and say He got past the guards against all odds.. half dead, exhausted, with alot of blood loss and semi suffocated..
How in the world do the disciples..seeing someone like this.. declare He is risen from the dead?

To reject the physical , bodily Resurrection is to reject both the gospel and the deity of Christ which are essential to salvation.
Is holding to a a historical, literal resurrection of Jesus as a supernatural event necessary in order to be a Christian? The answer is simply and unwavering, yes. To deny the resurrection of Jesus Christ is to reject Christianity. You may claim to practice Christianity while denying the resurrection, but call it whatever you like – it is not Christianity.
There are certain areas of Christian doctrine that is non-negotiable. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is one of those essential beliefs that make Christianity what it is. To deny the resurrection turns Christianity into a religion of our own making.
One of the most essential tenants of Christianity is that Jesus is the son of God. He is both fully God and fully man. To say that Jesus did not rise from the dead is to say that he remained in the grave and his corpse decomposed and rotted away. God is eternal and if Jesus is the eternal God of the universe than must resurrect.
One of the essential truths of orthodox, apostolic Christianity is that Jesus is God in the flesh. Therefore to claim that Jesus never resurrected is to claim that Jesus is not God. This turns Jesus into a martyred good teacher rather than the living God and resurrected King he really is.
In the Gospel Jesus continually predicted his own death. There are several clear examples, but one comes from the Gospel of Mark. In Mark 9:31 Jesus says “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.” Jesus made explicit claims about his own life, death, and coming resurrection.
Therefore if anyone is going to deny that Jesus did not rise from the grave bodily is to call Jesus himself a liar. This would not even make Jesus a good moral teacher but simply a con-man whose ministry is nothing but charade of deception. To deny the resurrection is to turn Jesus into a crooked, forked tongue liar.
One of the most dangerous results of denying the resurrection is that we lose salvation itself. As Paul says in 1 Corinthians 15:17, “And if Christ has not been raised, our faith is futile and you are still in your sins.” Jesus resurrection is the approval that his death did pay the penalty for our sins. It is the confirmation that Jesus’ death on the cross was a substitutionary death. He died in the place of sinners. The sacrifice of Jesus paid in full all our sins and our redemption is secure.
When the resurrection is denied the very concept of salvation is lost. Without the resurrection Jesus’ life is nothing but a tragedy. Yet the greatest tragedy of no resurrection is that we remain condemned under the wrath and judgement of God because of our sins.
Any hope we have in present suffering, sorrow, or death comes only from the assuredness of the resurrection. Life can be filled with heartbreak in this fallen world. The only hope we have not only in this life, but in the life to come is that we know our redeemer lives. As Paul again writes in 1 Corinthians 15:19, “If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied”.
If we deny the resurrection we have no hope. Death will swallow us up and we will perish. We have no hope that king Jesus will return and vindicate his people. If the resurrection is not true all we have left is the ashes of God’s broken promises.
The Resurrection is essential to Christianity. In fact, to lose it is to lose every truth claim the church proclaims and believes. If Jesus was not raised than he is not God, he is a liar, his death was pointless, and we have no hope. If you deny Jesus’ bodily resurrection, though you may call it Christianity, it is anything but. If you deny the supernatural, physical resurrection of Jesus Christ you are not a Christian. You are still in your sins and you will one day find yourself before God condemned for your lack of belief.
Though a supernatural resurrection of Jesus may be difficult for the modern western mind, to reject it is to reject Jesus. This was really good about Jesus resurrection.Without the bodily resurrection which was permanent one has no Savior and you are still dead in your sins according to the Apostle Paul. 1 Corinthians 15:17
Many deny Jesus was Resurrected and Ascended into heaven bodily( a human body with real flesh and bones) and are still dead in their sins even though they might claim to be a christian. That is an oxymoron.
Luke 24:37-43
37 But they were startled and frightened and thought that they were seeing a spirit. 38 And He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39 "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." 40 And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and His feet. 41 While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?" 42 They gave Him a piece of a broiled fish; 43 and He took it and ate it before them.
John 20:24-25
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples were saying to him, "We have seen the Lord!" Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.(Hebrews 13:5) Changeless, Immutable. Jesus was a man when He walked this earth, when He Ascended and when He will return again at His 2nd Coming.

In Heaven.... Hebrews 8:1 Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
8:2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
Look up the meaning of the word soma below, it always means a physical body in relation to anthropos(man).
His Body.....Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Philippians 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
Matthew 27:52-53
52 The tombs broke open and the bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs, and after Jesus' resurrection they went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
Philippians 3:20-21
And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

Remember in Luke Jesus said see here My hands and feet, touch Me a spirit/ghost does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have. Peter, Paul and John all agree that Jesus still had flesh well after His ascension. 1 John being the last of the books of the three Apostles declared that Jesus having come in the flesh and those who deny this are the spirit of antichrist. John makes it clear that the Incarnation was permanent. Jesus is forever both God and man. This is what Paul teaches in the whole 15th chapter of 1 Corinthians. The glorious physical bodies that we will have in the resurrection. We will have incorruptible bodies just as Jesus now has in heaven.
