A guy asked me yesterday if Jesus was God and wanted to come to the earth as a man. Then why didn't He just come as a man? Why did He start out as a baby? What should I tell him?

Jesus is not a man since he was raised from the dead? He is now the firstborn among the dead, the son of God, the Messiah to Israel, and the now resurrected Lord and Christ who is the head of the body of Christ to which the Christians belong to.

is not your New World Translation corrupt? do you not believe that the Lord Jesus is not your Jehovah? is this correct. if not forgive 101G.
but if this is your belief, "that the Lord Jesus is NOT Jehovah", then question, "why do the NWT state in Revelation 22:6 that Jehovah sent his angel to John, and just 6 verses later in the same chapter say Jesus sent his angel to John" let look at both verses.
Revelation 22:6 "And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his
angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done."
the NWT has Jehovah, instead of the Lord God sending his angel to John. and as said, just 6 verses later, the NWT has Jesus sending his angel to John. Let's see it.
Revelation 22:16 "I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star."
this has to be the worst translation by the JW or the biggest ERROR of all times.

Jehovah can send an angel. Jesus can send an angel. Jesus is Michael-prince of the angels, he leads them, they listen to him. Jehovah gave all that to Jesus. You twist what you don't understand.

I don't know what I will be when I'm resurrected. The Bible says I will have a spiritual body.

Jesus became fully human. Being 100% human included going through the humiliating experience of being born, being helpless and fully dependent on His parents. Jesus could not have humbled Himself more deeply. His earthly life included growing up, learning obedience (Hebrews 5:8) and going through the difficulties of puberty.
By being born as a baby and growing up in an ordinary human family, Jesus was like us in every respect. He knows what it is like to be a child, to be an adolescent and to be an adult. He took the full human journey. Therefore, He can sympathize with us as we go through the same challenges and temptations. As Hebrews 4:14-15 explains, “Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.”
An Old Testament prophecy about the Messiah already indicates that He would come as a baby. Isaiah 9:6-7 pictures the Messiah as a “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” who will be on David’s throne. But it also calls Him “a child” that is born. This is remarkable.
Another important verse is Isaiah 7:14, which is quoted in Matthew 1:23 as referring to Jesus: “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” This person, whose name means “God with us”, will be born of a virgin, not suddenly appear as an adult.

first thanks for the reply, second only one angel was sent to John ...... not two or three, only one. and your NWT says in Revelation 22:6 that Jehovah sent his angel to John . and your same NWT say in 22:16 the Lord Jesus sent his angel to John. so, do you deny this? yes or no.

There's no Scripture anywhere in the Bible that refers to God emptying Himself or being humble. God is a badass and anyone who ever messed with Him found themselves dead rather fast. You were dead if you walked in the wrong room in the Temple or bumped into the Ark by mistake. There's just no record in the Old Testament that mentions God would humble Himself or any such teaching explaining how that is even possible.

You hold your concept because you see Jesus as either a man like you or God. You do not see the son of God, the Messiah to Israel, and the resurrected Lord and Christ. What other man do you know whoever lived that God raised from the dead and then ascended into heaven? You think only a God could have done that. The Bible says the Christ did that.
Everything Jesus does is his Fathers will. His Father willed an angel to be sent, Jesus sent it. Mortals must go through Jesus to get to the Father, It must work the same with angels, The Father wills it, Jesus carries it out. To mortals or to angels.

now if what you said is true, then Jesus is just as Eternal as whom you think is God, LISTEN. Isaiah 48:16 "Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me." the "me" who was sent is from the beginning. and if the Lord Jesus is from the beginning, then he's ETERNAL. which negate your statement, making it false.
