Mans false religion says that a person by his or her own freewill of the flesh, believes on Christ, yet we believe that we believe by the power and grace of God, that is believing itself is given, caused by God Phil 1:29

29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

See also Phil 2 13

13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

See that, God effects/works the will to do ! Thats Pauls Doctrine

Philippians 1:29 (LEB) — 29 because to you has been graciously granted on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer on behalf of him,

How those at Phillipi were granted faith

Acts 16:9–12 (KJV 1900) — 9 And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. 10 And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them. 11 Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis; 12 And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.

God gave Paul a vision which caused him to go down to philippi and preach the gospel

Remember faith comes from hearing

Romans 10:14–15 (LEB) — 14 How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him about whom they have not heard? And how will they hear about him without one who preaches to them? 15 And how will they preach, unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “How timely are the feet of those who bring good news of good things.”

So God enabled those at Philippi to believe which they could not have done had he not sent Paul that vision.

Correct, there were some regenerate there like Lydia, duh whose heart the Lord opened that she would attend to the teachings of Paul.

God sends His servants to preach to His People so that they will hear and believe, like Corinth Acts 18:9-11

9 Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

11 And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

The Holy Spirit teaches us the "ICJESUS", extract for the soul, method.

Its given, the word given in Phil 1:29 is the greek word charizomai :

Its passive voice so the one its given is being acted upon

and the word means:

  1. to do something pleasant or agreeable (to one), to do a favour to, gratify
    1. to show one's self gracious, kind, benevolent
    2. to grant forgiveness, to pardon
    3. to give graciously, give freely, bestow
      1. to forgive
      2. graciously to restore one to another
      3. to preserve for one a person in peril

The lexicon for this verse uses #3

c. to give graciously, give freely, bestow: τίνι τί, Luke 7:21; Romans 8:32; Philippians 2:9; passive, 1 Corinthians 2:12; Philippians 1:29

Also charizomai is from the word and made of charis which is translated Grace 130x in the NT including Acts 18:27
