1) LOOKING FOR JEREMIAH
Chapter one

- Jeremiah was a priest !

- The word of God came to him in the days of Josiah and Jehoiakim and Zedekiah, three kings of Judah until Jerusalem went into exile !

- This chapter is interesting because God says he knew him before he was born and before he was in the womb of his mother !

- He was to be a prophet to the nations !

- We don’t know anything about his parents !

- He told God he was but a boy and didn’t know how to speak !

- But God didn’t give him any choice !

- He wanted him to go to people and tell them his word !

- He would save him !

- It seems really strange after four verbs of destruction !

3) LOOKING FOR JEREMIAH

Jeremiah 1

- Then God asks Jeremiah what he sees !

- Jeremiah answers by saying that he sees :

- A branch of an almond tree !

- A boiling pot !

What do almond trees represent?

Highly revered in many cultures, the almond symbolizes watchfulness and promise of new life, as this tree is the first to burst into bloom in many countries. For the Jews, the almond branch was the model for the menorah, and for the Christians, it is a symbol of Jesus' virgin birth.9 abr 2012

What does almond tree mean in Hebrew?
The Hebrew name for the almond (sha-KED) and for the tree (EitzhaSha-KED or shkaydiYAH) coincidentally has the same root letters as a verb meaning “to be eager, alert, awake, diligent, ready to act.”

What is the meaning of the boiling pot in the Bible?
The giant boiling pot, tilted from the north so as to pour its contents over Judah, symbolized a foreign army entering Judah from the north and overrunning the country. This was a judgment brought about by God because of Judah's idolatry (13-16).

Jeremiah 1

- God says that the kingdoms of the north will set up their thrones at the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem !

- But not only against Jerusalem but also against all the cities of Judah !

- And God says why !

- It is about his judgments against their wickedness !

- Because they abandoned him !

- Because they worship other gods !

- Who is concerned ?

- EVERYBODY: KINGS OF JUDAH, THE PRIESTS, THE PEOPLE !

- IT IS DIFFICULT TO BE MORE CLEAR !

- BUT USUALLY PEOPLE ARE DEAF AND BLIND WHEN IT IS INTERESTING FOR THEM !

- BUT IT IS NOT GOING TO LAST !

- THUS ISRAEL AND HUMANITY : SAME FIGHT !

- THE RESULT IS NOT GOING TO BE POSITIVE AT ALL !

6) LOOKING FOR JEREMIAH

Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
What do we learn here?
I know the created on earth bias interprets this as about thee, but it does open the door to accept it is possible that we existed previously to our human form being created on earth.

Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible sums it up well:
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee,.... Not merely by his omniscience, so he knows all men before their conception and birth; but with such a knowledge as had special love and affection joined with it; implying a personal relationship with not knowledge about as per:
Matthew 7:
21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’
23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

Obviously He knew all about them but He did not have a personal relationship with them as GOD suggests HE had with Jeremiah.

If the Scripture said, I knew thee when you were a little child, we would say that Jeremiah existed at that time. If it said, I knew thee when you were in the womb, we would interpret it as saying that Jeremiah existed at that time.

Why then, when the time moves back before the womb, does "I know thee" mean something else, to wit: “I knew about thee"? In the natural use of the word “knew", it is impossible to know someone before they exist, no matter how much you know about them.

You must be careful to not mix up knowing and knowing about.

These are two different things. For example, Christians know Jesus, demons know about Jesus. This difference is also brought out in Matthew 25:12, where Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not... to the five foolish virgins.

He obviously knew all about them, He just did not know them. Mighty big difference! Well this also means that there is a mighty big difference between GOD knowing Jeremiah and GOD knowing about Jeremiah.

Since I believe that GOD knows about this difference, then when GOD says to me that HE knew Jeremiah before his conception, I believe that GOD is sort of telling me that Jeremiah existed before his conception.

If GOD was not bearing witness to Jeremiah's preconception existence in this verse, would you please tell me what HE was revealing? Was it HIS omniscience, that is, was HE telling Jeremiah that HE knew all about him before HE made him in the womb, that is, before he was created?

But Jeremiah needed no revelation of GOD's omniscience. Jeremiah was a priest. He was trained in the Scriptures and the Jews knew about GOD's omniscience long before his time.

- There is and will always be a big difference between what we know or think we know and what Yah.weh knows!

- There should also be a big difference between what we know or think we know today and tomorrow and later on!

- On the other hand, in the Bible, we are told that Yah.weh uses any kind of man for different missions!
- He chooses people but they have free will to go in the right or in the bad direction!
- You can know or think you know people, but they evolve!
- You may know or think you know someone and later you realize it is not the same person you thought you knew or think you knew!

- What is important is what we are at the right time!
- We can't change the past, we can change the present according to the choices we make!
