That holds true for Abraham, his children, and his servants, both Hebrew and non-Hebrew.
I'm posting God's actual Words. God didn't reject the servants of Abraham that were circumcised in their hearts just because they were not biological relatives of Abraham,
Excuse me. They were circumcised in their flesh.
13 He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be
in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
14 And the uncircumcised man child whose
flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant. Genesis 17:13–14.
"Circumcision of the heart" is a metaphor. It has nothing to do with the heart organ but is a reference to the life of a person, not the heart organ. God ordained in creation that if one has a heart, its function is only to pump blood through the body. It has to do with a biological function, not a spiritual function. The "heart" is metaphor for the whole being or life of a person. That's all.
"Stranger" refers to a tribal neighbor.
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him.
34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you
shall be unto you as one born among you, and
thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19:33–34.
God is speaking to the Hebrew people. The Hebrews were held in bondage in Egypt by the Egyptians until Moses was sent with God's deliverance and the Hebrew people came out of Egypt 2-3 million people strong.
After the Tabernacle was built God situated the tribes around the Tabernacle three tribes to each side. Three million divided by 12 tribes equals around 250,000 people a tribe three times on each side of the Tabernacle, but the numbers varied. Benjamin was the smaller tribe and numbered less than the others.
To be "as one
born among you" clearly identifies someone of another tribe. If someone of another tribe decides to "dwell with you" they are not to be rejected or hassled. The host tribe is commanded to love that person or persons as though they were born "of your tribe." The thing that helps interpret "stranger" is God's command to the twelve tribes on loving those of your tribe and those of another tribe. God never commanded the children of Israel to love anyone not Hebrew and not the seed of Abraham. Here is the original command of God to the twelve tribes on love:
17 Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.
18 Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the LORD. Leviticus 19:17–18.
In both commands God says, "I am the LORD." By saying this God is adding significant notice to this command.
In verse 17 God identifies "brother" which means someone of the same tribe. Identifying "neighbor" refers to someone of another tribe situated living next to you.
Verse 18 God identifies "children of thy people" which refers to anyone of the twelve tribes living around the Tabernacle. God ends the command by referring again to one's neighbor living next to you.
This is the original command of God to the twelve tribes of Israel and in this command, there is no direction or instruction for the Hebrews to love anyone except their Hebrew brethren. If God provided command for the Hebrews to love non-Hebrew Gentiles He would say so here but He doesn't, and because He doesn't this helps identify "stranger" in verse 33 and 34 as being a Hebrew of another tribe.
Therefore, for the Faithful servants of God, anyone who "joins himself to the Lord", was considered a "Hebrew". But to the rebellious unfaithful Jews, they rejected God's Law in this matter.
I choose not to reject Him Law, you are choosing to convince others that they should reject God's Law.
This is why I replied to you post.
What? What the his-ell are you talking about? I never said to anyone here to reject God's Law. I contend against anyone who teaches the Law of Moses as abolished, obsolete, or ready to vanish away. And there are those here that believe this error.
Anyone who you say, "joins himself to the Lord" can be called "Hebrew" or anything else - choose your pronouns.
But it doesn't mean those that call themselves "Hebrew" are in covenant because the covenant is between God, Abram the Hebrew, and Abram's Hebrew seed. And Hebrews who rebel against God does not disqualify themselves as heir of the Abraham promises. A promise is a promise and God does not lie.
Who called Faithful Gentiles "The uncircumcision"? Not God, I just posted God's Very Law where HE commands that these faithful Gentiles "To be unto the Jews", as homeborn Jews. But the Priesthood had been corrupted. God's very Own Word tells us these "Children of Disobedience" led people astray. As Stephen said, "As your fathers did, so do you".
Jesus exposed all these "Commandments of men" the Jews had taught for doctrines, for centuries, and nailed them to the cross.
I posted God's Own Words, many of which you refuse to even address, which teach us that there is not one person, in the history of the bible, who turned to God, but was deemed "By God" as " without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:"
Not a Jew or Non-Jew in Abraham's Time, not in Moses Time, not in Isaiah's Time and not in Jesus' Time.
You need to stop promoting such foolishness. Or provide an example of a Non-Jew turning to God, but God rejected because they were not born a Jew.
"Turning to God" is irrelevant. If one is Hebrew and the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, they are in covenant with God and no matter their lives on this side of glory God made promise and God will keep all His promises. If one is of the seed of Jacob - and not Esau or Ishmael - they are in covenant with God. Period. Salvation is promised them under the Mosaic Covenant.
They were "far off" because the rulers of the temple in Jerusalem were "Children of the Devil" who had rejected God's Commandments that they might promote their own religious traditions. They are Hypocrites who taught for doctrines the commandments of Men, not God.
They were "far off" because God scattered His people into the four corners of the Gentile world.
Jesus and the Pharisees taught the same things. Jesus' issue with the religious leaders was that they elevated the traditions of the elders above the Holy Scripture. If they didn't do that they would be in good standing with Jesus and God.
Jesus tries to tell you this, but "many" just don't believe Him.
Luke 4:
25 But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; 26 But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow. 27 And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
But according to the you and the Pharisees both these people were considered by God's Law as
"without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:"
It's right there in your own Bible.
The world - through their prejudice and blindness - are blessed because of the existence of Israel as a people. Those widows, and Naaman, and the lepers -unless Hebrew - received blessing from God but they are not Hebrew and Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promises.
But a "Heathen", since the time of Abraham, if he chose to repent and turn to God, to sojourn with His People, to keep the Passover of the Lord, to join themselves to the Lord, were no longer to be considered a "Heathen". You still consider them a heathen, the rebellious, stiffnecked Jews still consider them a heathen. But God, Elijah, Abraham, Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah and Jesus didn't. I posted the scriptures which teach this. Rejecting them doesn't bring truth to a man, but brings deception and ignorance. This tactic of "Omitting" the Scriptures that doesn't fit a certain religious philosophy is a popular one, the rebellious Jews did it all the time. But as anyone can see, God doesn't accept men who, when the knew God, didn't Glorify Him "AS GOD".
Bottom line. Abraham and his seed possess covenant promises of God. Non-Hebrew Gentiles do not nor can they ever possess any of God's covenant promises because they are NOT Abraham's seed through Isaac and through Jacob. You can go from there.
A non-Jew who turned to God, was not to be considered a Heathen. I'm not going to reject this undeniable Biblical Fact just to gain the praise of men.
Mental assent is one thing. Being in covenant is another and it the most important thing to be Hebrew and seed of Abraham.
His servants, not of his seed, were to be treated the exact same way as his seed. It's right there in your own bible. All you need is to trust God, more than your adopted religion.
Ex. 12:
48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. 49 One law shall be to him that is homeborn, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among you.
Lev. 19:
33 And if a stranger sojourn with thee in your land, ye shall not vex him. 34 But the stranger that dwelleth with you shall be unto you "as one born among you", and thou shalt love him as thyself; for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
A non-Hebrew Gentile, that "turns to God" and keeps His Commandments, is no longer to be considered a "non-Hebrew Gentile.
Ignoring this undeniable biblical Fact, doesn't make it disappear from Truth. It only makes it disappear in the hearts of men who reject it.
It's all about covenant. That's was places a person in salvation's way.
It's the biology of salvation. You gotta be a Hebrew from the seed of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and you will be saved. Under the Law it's called "being kept." And the word is possessive. God keeps His own and discards the rest.
17 All nations before him are as
nothing;
And they are counted to him
less than nothing, and vanity.
Isaiah 40:17.
That's some cold truth there. Gentiles already hate God and hate Israel. If God said that too many times then that will give Gentiles more reason to hate the Jews.
