Jesus denied being God

Is there no end to peterlag's misunderstandings?
2.) There is no clear Trinitarian formula in the Bible.
He misses the clearer one of Matt 28:19-20 while finding excuses to ignore tying the three together.
3.) The idea that "the Father is God, the Son is God, the Holy Spirit is God, and together make one God" is not found in Scripture.
Hyperliteralist view shared here that denies that one can understand how the three appear in scripture.
4.) God is spirit, and Jesus said he was not a spirit even after his resurrection (Luke 24:39).
Jesus was denying that he was contrasting here against the idea that he was not physically resurrected. This not a broad explanation of what his appearance in flesh and bone signifies beyond countering their fears. Perfect misapplication of scripture by a unitarian.
5.) Jesus is very plainly called a man many times in Scripture.
Uh. He is also explicitly called "my God." It is bothersome that the unitarian does not acknowledge all of scripture.
6.) God was not born, but is eternal.
Duhhh. Jesus is not born a new god. No Christians hold to that -- at least not anyone that I've seen sharing that.
7.) Romans 5:19 says a man had to pay for the sins of mankind.
No Christian denies that the Word was incarnated as a man. duhhh
8.) The man Jesus is the mediator between God and men (1 Timothy 2:5).
Jesus is also God and one with the Father as found in Gal 3:19-20. So ignorance of interpretation again is the basis for a unitarian post.
9.) Jesus called the Father "my God" both before and after his resurrection.
Uh. There are no multiple gods. Jesus has the essence of his Father in his incarnation.
10.) Jesus said my Father is greater than I (John 14:28).
Jesus can speak as a man because he is incarnated and has limitations of being human.
11.) It was God that made Jesus "Lord" (Acts 2:36).
Lord in this scenario is shared because the message is of who Jesus was in the flesh and now is designated higher in resurrection. It is not a denial of the deity of Christ as Peterlag so hopes the verse says.
12.) Jesus would have already been the Lord if he was God.

13.) In the future Jesus will be subject to the Father (1 Corinthians 15:28).

14.) Jesus was "sanctified" by God. God does not need to be sanctified.

15.) There is only one who is good and that is God (Luke 18:19).

16.) God is greater than Christ (1 Corinthians 3:23).

17.) It was God who did miracles and wonders through Christ.

18.) Christ was given all authority. He would have already had all authority if he were God (Matthew 28:18).

19.) The phrase "Deity" never appears in the Bible, nor is Christ ever called "Deity."

20.) Ephesians 4:5 says there is one Lord.

21.) 1 Corinthians 8:6 says there is one God.

22.) Jesus called the Father the only God (John 5:44).

23.) Christ made a distinction between speaking against him and the Holy Spirit.

24.) Christ said his doctrine was not his own (John 7:16).

25.) Jesus and God have separate wills (Luke 22:42).

26.) Jesus counted himself and his Father as two (John 8:17).

27.) The Bible always portrays God and Christ as two separate beings.

28.) The Bible makes it clear that Jesus is an "heir" of God (Romans 8:7).

29.) Jesus grew in wisdom, but God is all wise.

30.) Jesus had limited knowledge (mark 13:32).

31.) God made Jesus perfect through suffering (Hebrews 2:10).

32.) Jesus received the holy spirit at his baptism. He would have already had it if he were God.

33.) Jesus was tempted. God cannot be tempted.

34.) Angels ministered and strengthened Jesus. God does not need to be strengthened.

35.) Jesus died. God cannot die.

36.) Jesus says we are his brothers. The Bible never says or even hints that we are brothers of God.

37.) We are told to do greater works than Jesus. Nobody can do greater works than God.

38.) Jesus would have already had "all authority" if he were God and would not need to be given “all authority” (Matthew 28:18).

39.) Jesus would have already had “a name above every name” if he were God and would not need to be given “a name above every name” (Philippians 2:9).

40.) Jesus would have already had "glory" if he were God and would not need to be given "glory" (John 17:22, 24).

41.) Jesus would have already been "appointed" if he were God and would not need to be “appointed” over the Church (Ephesians 1:22).

42.) Jesus was not unoriginated. Christ was the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16).

43.) Jesus was not self-existent. “I live because of the Father” (John 6:57).

44.) Jesus was not immortal. Jesus died and God resurrected him (Acts 13:30).

45.) Jesus was not all wise. Jesus “grew in wisdom” (Luke 2:52).

46.) Jesus was not all-powerful. Christ said “the Son can do nothing by Himself” (John 5:19).

47.) Jesus was not omnipresent. Jesus said after Lazarus died “I am glad I was not there” (John 11:15).

48.) Jesus is called the "Son of God" more than 50 times. Not once is he called "God the Son."

49.) The apostles also taught Jesus was a man (Act 2:22).

50.) The Bible teaches God is the “head” of Christ (Corinthians 11:3).

51.) The supposed “dual nature” of Christ is never stated in the Bible.

52.) There's no verse in the Bible that says we should believe or confess that Jesus is God.
We could go on with the errors of Peterlag but he just shows a long list of errors instead of dealing with each error on his part.

Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits."
Romans 16:17-18 "Now I urge you brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and occasions of stumbling contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them."

When you listen to Peterlag, do you hear the same kind of speech coming from Paul? No, not at all, because Peterlag is preaching a different gospel than Paul.

Galatians 1:6-9 "I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel; which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

Philippians 3:17-19: "Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things."

When you listen to brightfame, do you hear the same kind of speech coming from Paul? No, because brightfame is also preaching a different gospel than Paul.

Colossians 2:1-4 "For I want you to know how great a struggle I have on your behalf and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not personally seen my face, that their hearts may be encouraged, having been knit together in love, and attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ Himself, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument."

1 Timothy 1:1-6 "... remain on at Ephesus so that you may instruct certain men not to teach strange doctrines, nor to pay attention to myths and endless genealogies, which give rise to mere speculation rather than furthering the administration of God which is by faith. But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. For some men, straying from these things, have turned aside to fruitless discussion, ..."

1 Timothy 6:3-6 "If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing; but he has a morbid interest in controversial questions and disputes about words, out of which arise envy, strife, abusive language, evil suspicions, and constant friction between men of depraved mind and deprived of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment."

Titus 3:10 "Reject a factious man after a first and second warning, knowing that such a man is perverted and is sinning, being self-condemned."

2 Peter 2:1-3 "But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep."

2 John 9-11 "Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting; for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds."

Jude 17-19 "But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostle of our Lord Jesus Christ, that they were saying to you, 'In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.' These are the ones who cause divisions, worldly-minded, devoid of the Spirit."

Except for the Trinity and Jesus is God have you ever heard @Peterlag teach on the gospel? He is brilliant and knows the true gospel that Paul preached. He knows that Jesus took away our sin and not just cover it up. In this day and age of false denominations teaching doctrines of demons regarding sin and grace, Peterlag shows none of that. In fact, I have had way more problems with the Calvinist's knowledge of the gospel than on Peterlag's. I was saved for years before I saw Titus 2:13 and realized that Jesus actually is God. I'm confident that Peterlag will come to that truth someday as I did. He is like the man with 10 talents and will keep receiving more than those who only had one and it was taken away from them and given to he who had 10.

I think I'm in love with you.

charismaticlady said: "Except for the Trinity and Jesus is God, have you ever hear Peterlag teach on the gospel?"

That's like saying, Except for what the Bible teaches, have you ever heard so-and-so teach on the gospel?

That's NOT brilliant. That's deception - that's a lie. You said "He knows the true gospel that Paul preached."

You mean, like you know the truth of what Paul preached about women pastors and teachers? No actually, his "gospel" is distorted, which is what Paul warned about in Galatians 1:6-9. That is NOT the TRUE gospel.

I don't doubt that he says some true things - ALL false teachers say some true things, which is a deceptive tactic of Satan, to get people to listen to the rest of what they have to say - the things that are heresy. You don't listen to heresy, so you can pick out what's good in what they're saying. You should reject everything that they say, just because they are false teachers. The Bible is clear, as you can see in the verses I quoted. A false teacher is not to be listened to at all, except to pinpoint his errors and then warn him, which I have done more than once, but Peterlag arrogantly rejects all warnings - another typical trait of false teachers.

Yes, many Calvinists and Dispensationalists and some denominations fall into that same category. There's nothing new under the sun. However, unlike you, I don't believe all denominations are evil.

If it was all about me, I would not have a book that mentions the word "Jesus" 434 times and the word "Christ" 842 times in a paper that is 157 pages.

Of course you do, all false teachers have a book. That's just another way you can spread your lies and gain more followers for yourself. It's not how many times you mention "Jesus" or "Christ", it's what you say about Him that matters.

Nobody is having it all about themselves if they write a book that has 157 pages and mention the name of Jesus Christ 1,276 times. Nobody.

Even in this, you are self-deceived. Common sense tells anyone with a brain that you could mention the name of Jesus 5,000 times in a book, but if you're dishonoring Him in what you say, by lying about Him, then the "honor" comes back to you. Anyone who dishonors God - and Jesus is God -is in fact, honoring himself.

Wow, now you're even speaking for him. The last time I checked, false teachers do not love Jesus.

So now you're measuring how much other believers love Jesus by whether they agree with your misinterpretation of Scripture or not?

You missed my question to you:

Let's see how much you love Jesus. Did Jesus take away our sin nature and create a new one in us who He made born again of His Spirit?

I had the spirit of Christ tell me for 20 minutes that they liked the book right after I wrote it.

You are veering off the topic of this thread, so my answer to that question is unnecessary - especially since I already told you that your understanding of that question is a misinterpretation.

Wow, now you're really off the rails. The spirit of Christ is a "they"??? And "they" told you for 20 minutes that "they" liked the book??? That's really gracious of "them" to give you 20 minutes of "their" time. What a farce!! I don't doubt that some spirit(s) spoke to you for 20 minutes, telling you that "they" liked your book - but it was NOT the spirit of Christ. It was very likely demons speaking to you. This just confirms what I have been saying that you are a false teacher.

Who are you? God? What is my understanding? Do you deny who Jesus is? Let's see if you know about the power of God. Jesus is God. Do you believe God is capable of taking away our sin nature, or is Jesus not God? Let's see if you believe in God or not. Is Jesus God? What can He do with our sin nature? Did Jesus teach He would take away our sin as only God can do, or did Jesus deny being God and our sin nature remains in tact?
