This is not an error. You apparently are one of those which miss seeing the "mystery" which Paul wrote had been hidden from prior ages and generations, but which had then been revealed in Paul's own time to the saints (Col. 1:26-27).
You quote the Scripture but you don't understand what it says and what you post. Let me see if I can get you to focus:
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of
this mystery among the Gentiles;
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Colossians 1:26–27.
The mystery is "Christ in you." And this can only happen under the New Covenant in which the Holy Spirit of Promise PROMISED TO ISRAEL - NOT Gentiles, is who Christ said would "dwell" in 'you' (the believer.)
You apparently also miss the meaning of the vision John had in Revelation 7:9 of the great multitude "which no man could number": the redeemed in heaven clothed in white robes which had come out of "ALL nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues". This means that God has planned to redeem at least one or more out of EVERY family from EVERY nation, people, and tongue. This is not universalism, but it does give hope to EVERY family from creation forward that at least one and possibly more of each immediate family group will be standing before the throne of God in eternity as one of His own.
No, I don't miss it. I completely understand Revelations 7:9.
Let's take a look at it now:
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; Revelation 7:9.
It doesn't say "ALL nations", it says, "
OF all nations", meaning these are Jews. What led John to say verse 9, which is a conclusion of the verses preceding verse 9.
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand
of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Nepthalim were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand.
Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number,
of all nations, and
kindreds, and
people, and
tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; Revelation 7:3–9.
As I said, the composition of these "OF all nations" (verse 9) are Jews. Verses 3-8 make that clear. Or can't you see? But let's look at the "tie in" to what John is writing about:
10 Hear the word of the LORD, O ye nations,
And declare it in the isles afar off, and say,
He that scattered Israel will gather him,
And keep him, as a shepherd doth his flock.
Jeremiah 31:10.
3 And
I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. Jeremiah 23:3.
37 Behold,
I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in mine anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place,
and I will cause them to dwell safely: Jeremiah 32:37.
And Ezekiel, too:
17 Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
I will even gather you from the people, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. Ezekiel 11:16–17.
24 For
I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Ezekiel 36:24.
These are all prophecies of the end time when Christ returns in Revelation 19.
God had scattered the Jews into Gentile lands beginning with the Assyrian Conquest and then the Babylonian Conquest and Exile of 722 and 586 BC, respectively. Those in Revelation 7:9 are JEWS. Just read verses 3-7 to see who God is speaking about. They are the twelve tribes of ISRAEL - NOT Gentiles.
Your problem is the false Constantinian Gentile theology books you've read. You are infected - as I was once - of Gentile thievery and inheritance theft. They took a Hebrew religion of Christ and made it into a Gentile one. I recognize the mindset. It's a looking into a Hebrew religion, people, and culture with a Gentile mindset to come up with a reinterpretation of the Scripture. It's a form of Replacement Theology. Saul touches upon it in his letters in a couple of places and he has no idea nor understanding that he done it. So, let me take a moment to point these things out to you.
First, the Word of God is to and for believers ONLY. God never gives anything holy to dogs (Gentiles.)
If you accept this, then you've reached the first step in understanding what happened in Israel when the Romans destroyed both country and place of worship (Temple.)
Next step: There is no Scripture in the Old Testament Hebrew Scripture of a covenant of salvation between God and non-Hebrew Gentiles. If you know where one can be found in the Old Testament post it here. And while you're doing that also provide me here the name of this non-Hebrew Gentile God made salvation covenant with.
Next step: There are no non-Hebrew Gentiles included in any of the three major Hebrew national covenants (Abrahamic, Mosaic, and New.)
So far, have I lied? (the answer is "No.")
Next step: In talking to and ministering to the mixed heritage Hebrew Samaritan woman at the well in John 4, it is established that she and Jesus are both descendants of their father, Jacob.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than
our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? John 4:11–12.
Next step: The term "Samaritan" refers to a group that developed a distinct religious and ethnic identity in the region of Samaria, which was the capital of the Northern Kingdom of Israel.
The Samaritans, who refer to themselves as
Israelite Samaritans (or "Keepers" of the Torah), claim direct descent from the ancient Israelites, specifically from the tribes of:
Ephraim, Manasseh, and Levi (the priestly line.)
They maintain that they are the true and faithful remnant of the ancient Northern Kingdom of Israel who remained in the land and did not go into exile, preserving the original worship of the one God at their holy site, Mount Gerizim. The traditional Jewish perspective, based on the
King James Version and other biblical texts, views the Samaritans as a mixed-race and mixed-religion group. This view is rooted in the events following the Assyrian conquest of the Northern Kingdom of Israel (Samaria) around 722 BC.
According to the biblical record (which reflects the Jewish perspective of the time), the Samaritans are the descendants of this
mixed group of remaining Israelites and imported foreign peoples, which is why they were universally despised and considered by the Jews to be neither fully Israelite nor fully Gentile. On this point there were Jews that were towards the Samaritans, "racist." However, and factually, the Samaritans were still the descendants of Abraham and heir to his promises.
Next step: (we're almost done.) The majority of all living and exiled Jews and mixed heritage Jews lived in Gentile lands of their conquerors, the Assyrians and Babylonians, and in Gentile lands in-between. The "remnant" that was given leave to return to Israel with Nehemiah by king Cyrus, were a "remnant" of the total of all living Jews and mixed heritage Jews living at the time and accounts to 5-10% of all Jews and mixed heritage Jews living at the time of their return to Israel. Later, a second "remnant" returned to Israel with Ezra. In total of both returns is about 30-50 thousand Jews and mixed heritage Jews living at the time who returned to Israel. Are we on the same page?
Next step: From the Assyrian Conquest of the ten northern kingdom tribes, and the Babylonian Conquest of the two remaining southern kingdom tribes were about 722 years before Christ was born and in this time approximately 29-35 generations of Jews and mixed heritage Jews were born and died in these Gentile locations. In time they were almost completely assimilated into Gentile and Greek culture being ignorant of their great-great-great-grandfathers' religion "under the Law of Moses."
Are you still with me or have you become "lost" like the Ten northern kingdom tribes?
Next step: First century Jews and mixed heritage Jews who became born again and were among the three thousand Jews returned to their homes and synagogues after Pentecost and had come from all over the Roman Empire and Northern Africa and the good news about Jesus was promulgated by these persons returning home from Pentecost and so the good news went out by their testimonies to their fellow brethren. Additionally, Jesus commanded His eleven remaining disciples to go into these Gentile lands - and Jerusalem - to herald the good news to Jews that God has kept His Promise to send a Redeemer in the Person of Jesus Christ, and that He left with a promise to "soon return."
Next step: As time went on more mixed heritage Jews were becoming born again and those Jews who were of a more Jewish expression saw these mixed heritage Jews - many of whom were not circumcised - the question as to whether they required to be circumcised in order to truly be saved arose and the controversy finally reached the elders and apostles in Jerusalem around AD 50 (Acts 15.)
Note: some of these elders were part of the Sanhedrin (Acts 6:7.)
Next step: These Gentiles of Jewish descent were mostly culturally driven by Greek/Gentile upbringing and almost knew nothing of their Hebrew religion and heritage of the past. Here is where Saul wrote to Jews and Jewish Christians at Ephesus and remarked on their condition in Ephesus 2:
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles
in the flesh, who are
called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That
at that time ye were without Christ, being
aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and
strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and
without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus
ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:11–13.
Peter addressed a people beyond Israel's borders who were "far off" -
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children,
and to all that are afar off, even as many as
the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2:38–39.
Last step continued: The Jerusalem Council addressed whether these mixed heritage Jews who grew up Gentile needed to be circumcised in order to truly be saved. They were not non-Hebrew Gentiles because God never promised His Spirit to Gentiles and the Holy Spirit is necessary for the converting of the soul and the salvation of an (Hebrew) person. Also, the apostles and elders who decided the issue would never seek to circumcise a non-Hebrew Gentile nor compel them to obedience of the Law of Moses. If these persons were non-Hebrew Gentile the apostles and Judaizers would never seek to circumcise a non-Hebrew nor compel them to obey the Law of Moses, the very decision reached by the apostles in Jerusalem (Acts 15.)
29 That ye
abstain from meats offered to idols, and
from blood, and
from things strangled, and
from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. Acts 15:29.
These instructions touch on the Noahic and Mosaic Covenants. If this was the decision tailored for non-Hebrew Gentiles the people would rise up in protest, even riot, but there is no record of such events and actions by the people in Scripture. They were at large, content with the apostle's decision upon mixed heritage Jews by this council.
Next step: There was much conflict between Rome and Israel during the AD 60s. In AD 70 the Romans under Titus destroyed Israel and destroyed their Temple, thus fulfilling the high priest's ignorant prophecy:
47 Then gathered the chief priests and the Pharisees a council, and said, What do we? for this man doeth many miracles.
48 If we let him thus alone, all men will believe on him: and the Romans shall come and take away both our place and nation.
49 And one of them, named Caiaphas, being the high priest that same year, said unto them, Ye know nothing at all,
50 Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not.
51 And this spake he not of himself: but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for that nation;
52
And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad. John 11:47–52.
The Jews eventually did lose/"lost" their place (Temple) and their nation and Rome passed laws preventing Jews from inhabiting their land (Israel.) This left mixed heritage Jews who were for the most part, Gentile in speech, dress, behavior, and mindset in charge of the Jewish Church. Romans would not harm fellow Gentiles whom they saw as fellow citizens even if they were Christian (Christ-followers.) From this point onward it was through a lack of Hebrew heritage in these persons that eventually true, Biblical Christianity was unmoored from its Hebrew heritage into a Gentile "Christianity" which became a new religion completely void of things that were Hebrew. Now, we have a new religion called (Gentile) "Christianity" closely resembling Catholicism. It is but it's not. But I believe that when these two Hebrew witnesses of Revelation 11 come on the scene they will rile a great many Gentile feathers and cause them some problems. After all, Zechariah says ALL nations will be against Israel before the Lord comes. Yes, even America. Our "kingdom" will not last. Jesus' throne will be exalted - even above the American experience in the western world.
