yes salvation is the gift.
Nope salvation is the gift as per
Romans 6:23 (KJV 1900) — 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Salvation is not if yourself . God saves those who believe the gospel.

its the means God uses to save a person. One must of their own free will believe the gospel. The result of believing the gospel is eternal life, salvation, born again, new life, new creation in Christ, being placed in Christ, becoming a part of the body of Christ, etc.......

I would say our "difference " would be the "regeneration " part which I believe follows faith and you would place before faith.

When it's granted by God for you do so.
When you receive revelation whether from reading or hearing the gospel
