How and Why I joined here, and my sad Church story.

I heard some ministers refer to the 10 commandments as being apart of the law. I never took the time to research it myself to see if they should be included as apart of the Law of Moses. I did a google search and I see some articles about it. Seems to be a controversial subject.
okay. Well i just personally keep human religious rules(= laws) separate from what God asks. It's easier for me to just go to Him and not worry about laws. Thats just me.

Some Evangelists will take people through the 10 commandments just to show them that they are a sinner, and then they share Jesus with them, as the answer. Those kinds say that if you break just one thing in the law, then you broke the whole law. That is how that works. But they might not be correct about the 10 commandments being apart of the law. It really doesn't matter because it does make the point to some of the unbelievers who think they are a good person who doesn't need Jesus.

I wish I could evangelise better, but I got a lot of problems. And my life is in isolation. I would prefer to share Christ in person, in real life. That is the way everyone did it before the internet.
i can relate. Well i find myself on line less and less... and chatting with others online way down too.

I dont really care for evangelizing or evangelizers... but simply to share things about our experiences with God - thats always lovely... for God is an extremely kind and loving Deity.

except the evangelizers are sinners and doing that is casting stones and they should not ever do that since this flesh itself is fallen. they are in sin themselves. its cruelty to do that to another soul. 😔

I really hate that and find it deeply unchristian to call a soul a sinner in order to convert them to a belief.

I used to love chatting with other Christians online. But something changed. People don't seem to want to just have a nice conversation about life anymore. It would be nice to just have a conversation about life, trying to follow Christ, and pray with each other. That would be good. I get sick of the arguments.

exactly! i feel that way too. theology is a horror. Christ didn't do it either. He did not debate his followers on theology.

I don't know if you would consider this "theology" or not. Some Christians think they can hear the voice of God and can tell you what He said about you. They call it getting a word from the Lord. Some Christian's think this is ridiculous, and that you should just rely on scripture for guidance.

I shouldn't worry. But I've been concerned about my "friend" who joined YWAM. She's got a good heart for the Lord. Knows the Bible really well. She feels called to go on world missions and help the world wide church. This is all ok, but I have learned through research that YWAM is very very controversial The issue seems to be how they push the teaching that everyone can learn to hear from God, and everyone can receive words from the Lord about someone else. Some even say that they use this to control their students. In other words, some Christians think it is a cult, and even some who were students came out and are calling it such. You know how the internet is, you can't believe everything you read. But I have seen enough articles and videos about this, to cause me some concern. Please pray for her.

It kinda is. The Trinity created it for the Jews, and Jesus Christ is a Jew. The old school Judaism has been done away with, and Christianity took it's place. However Christianity honors it. The old testament is still useful. All of the word is God breathed.

2 Timothy 3:16-17
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Christianity was born out of Judaism ✡️.

I do not like that cult of 'receiving a word' or of tongues ... which some post youtube's about, giving messages from supposedly 'God'. it scares me. What is YWAM? I honestly never think about churches or know about what they do anymore. It is all too scary for me. I do not want to hear ideas which are not from Him.

YWAM stands for Youth With A Mission. The guy who started it, had a vision of young people going out like waves, into all the world sharing the Gospel. My "friend" is no longer a youth, but they a have program for people who are 27 years of age and up. We are in our 40's. The thing is, there are people in the Bible that heard the voice of God. Some Christians believe that once the Bible got completed that stuff like that is no longer necessary, so it doesn't happen. Other ones think all the gifts like that still happen today. I have lived my life in between the two extreme views, and have been happy to use common sense when it comes to these matters. But this debate isn't the big problem with YWAM. According to the articles I have read, they use the concept of hearing from the Lord as a control mechanism. "God told me that our team is to go to such and such place, and since I'm the leader you must obey, even if it is dangerous or maybe the wrong way to do things." Many Christians don't think of YWAM as being bad because lots of people have asked Jesus into their hearts through this ministry. But as one former YWAM'er said, "God can use anything but that doesn't mean it is the right thing to do." I agree with Him!

the problem is much of modern christianity never met Him..

don't know what entity they channel ..

Before going to bed, I decided to watch a Documentary Called, The Finger of God 2. Christians from my country were in some other countries, sharing the love of Jesus with people. They would follow the voice of God, telling them where to drive too next. Sometimes the voice of God would tell them who He wanted them to minister too. They could call someone over to the car and heal them in Jesus name. The first healing was a man who's one leg was longer than the other one. I realize the place they were at didn't like Christians practicing there faith, but I didn't get to see the healing very good. The next one was a man who had only one arm, and the other hand, was crippled. They asked him what happened to the other arm, and He told them a bomb blew it off. Then they noticed his other hand was crippled, and so they healed that hand in Jesus name. Again, I couldn't see what happened very good. I thought to myself, "if these people have faith that Jesus can heal people like this, then why did they stop with just the hand. Why not tell restore the missing arm in Jesus name? That would of been a miracle that I could of seen really good, and not dismiss as just being an easy fake. The next Christian group was driving down a road, and one of them heard the voice of God tell him to turn around the car. Then someone in the backseat said, I hear the name Mike. So they start driving around town, looking and asking for someone by the name of Mike. It wasn't the first person, it wasn't the second person, then finally they came across a drug rehabilitation center, asked some people, and they called in Mike M. He said that He had pain because He had been in a motorcycle accident. He didn't look bad on the outside. They healed him in Jesus name. I could go on with this, but my point is, all the "miracles" I saw on the documentary could of been easily faked. That makes me sad, because, instead of encouraging my faith, they just left me wondering if what I saw was true or not.

Last Weekend I was lonely and wanted someone to talk to. I found a website that I could talk to a random anonymous Christian. I talked about how I and why I haven't been going to Church. I explained that people at Church don't seem to like me. Of course the person wanted to know why people at Church don't like me. It is impossible for me to explain something I don't understand myself. I think I might have a personality disorder.

dont be bullied or discouraged... any one you might meet may say they follow christ and yet never met Him, for they continue to live in the fleshmind which is not of Him. And they may spout bible passages all day, be pastors preaching gospel, claim to be saved, seem so smart with theological filth, bully souls who they judge as inferior.. it's horrible and cruel.

Getting back to the subject of "Youth With A Mission" or YWAM... Your comment, eve, reminded me of an article I read about them. In it was a Christian Soccer Team, who was going around witnessing to people when they played soccer. They said that when they ran into the YWAM bunch, they acted like they were so much better than the way the Christian Soccer Team was doing it. The soccer team found themselves witnessing with YWAM just to prove to them that they could go around doing the same thing just as good as YWAM was doing it. It is crazy how the Bible teaches us to be humble, and yet there are still Christian groups, and Churches that seem to think their ministry is somehow "better" than someone elses ministry. When you stop and think about it, the people God called in the Bible were not all that special. They were just willing to follow what God called them to do.

At the school I work for. There used to be a young woman art teacher. She had gone to a private Christian Baptist School. She said that some of the other girls told her that she wasn't really a Christian because her Church allowed dancing. I heard this judgmental statement, and thought what on earth? So they judge someone's salvation based on what Church they happen to be in? The concept of dancing verses no dancing is legalism. I think some dance is ok, and some dance isn't. But there is very little in the Bible to guide us in the concept of dancing. David danced naked before the Lord. Probably not a good idea to do that now. But still.... Strange. I consider anyone a Christian who has accepted Jesus into their hearts. After that it takes time and growth. To dance or not to dance is one of those things that a person might think is ok for years, and then all of a sudden feel that God leads them away from it. But why should that be a measure if someone is saved, is beyond me.
