Has anyone ever thought about

Read the Book beginning, 1 King 18 starting at verse 17 for the ministry John has as Elijah had..... (smile) ..... :ninja:

101G.
17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
1 Kings 18:17.

Not quite.

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: Mal. 3:1.

5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:
6 And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children,
And the heart of the children to their fathers,
Mal. 4:5–6.

17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?
1 Kings 18:17.
GINOLJC, to all.
can you read with understanding at all? read at the ... "Beginning", "Beginning". of chapter 18, starting at verse 17. "THE CONFRONTATION BETWEEN BAAL'S PROPHETS OF AHAB AND JEZEBEL AND THE PROPHET ELIJAH, "TO TURN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE, (FATHERS'S AND CHILDRENS), BACK TO GOD. and this confrontation took place on Mt. Carmel. 1 Kings 18:19 "Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel's table." 1 Kings 18:20 "So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel." 1 Kings 18:21 "And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word." 1 Kings 18:22 "Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men." 1 Kings 18:23 "Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:" 1 Kings 18:24 "And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken."

John the Baptist ministry was to TURN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE BACK TO GOD....... IT'S CALL REPENTANCE. and here it is in black and white. Luke 1:15 "For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb." Luke 1:16 "And many of the children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God." Luke 1:17 "And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord."

did not God forewarned them? 1 Kings 11:1 "But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;" 1 Kings 11:2 "Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love."

how plain can one get?

No fair.
You took the words right out of my keyboard!

that's John the Baptist, scripture, Matthew 3:1 "In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea," Matthew 3:2 "And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Matthew 3:3 "For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight."

To all, and @jeremiah1five. since we're on the subject, "Has anyone ever thought about'. and we now know who the two witness are, think on this, "the abomination that makes desolation", Daniel 9:27. consider,
Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate.”

...That this is the "abomination that makes desolation", that occurs at the "half a time." The other half is of the second witness, in spirit, by the "life-giving spirit" whom is Christ.
consider this, did not our Lord put an end to sacrifice, (for he was it), and the abominations did he not make desolate, for abomination that makes desolation is those who sit in Moses seat. according to the scriptures he made them desolate. or as Revelation 11:5 said, "fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies", and another word for devour is destroy, and destroy means desolate.

101G.

They are sent to Israel.
They are two candlesticks, and the candlesticks were used in the Tabernacle.
The chapter begins with the measuring of the Temple. The prophecy of Revelation is given by a Jewish Christian (John) to and for Israel. Everything about Revelations is Jewish. You can't miss it.
Since the import of the book is world wide, I think there might be a metaphor involved...

Same ministry in preparing the way which is what he did.

No, He didn't ever make command to put an end to Jewish sacrifices. He can't order it and then reorder it in the Millennium. I mean, He can, but He doesn't.
At least you're thinking. I like that.

No, the prophecy is to Israel, the Church Christ was building, stopped building, and later removes their blindness and restarts the building again. Such is the work of a Carpenter.
Everything in Revelations is Jewish. Jewish history, Jewish prophecy, Jewish characters, Jewish Temple, Jewish churches in those in 7 cities, Jewish culture and religious practices - JEWISH.

To all,
"The two witnesses prophesy"
Revelation 11:1 "And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein."

The temple of God here is allegory, not in the sense of a physical building, but the body of Christ. 1 Corinthians 6:19 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?" and what was he to "MEASURE? also allegory, MEASURE how? Micah 7:14 "Feed thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old". and to MEASURE the people that worship therein? yes, the holy Scripture, or the word of God, which is sometimes called a line, a rule, and rod, (see Psalms 19:4), and which is the rule and precept to measure of doctrine and faith; and by it, all doctrine is to be tried and measured, and whatsoever is not agreeably to it is not of God, nor to be received, but rejected; and it is the rule and measure of all discipline, worship, and practice; it lays down the plan of a Gospel church, which should be gathered out of the world, and separated from it; it shows who are the proper materials of it, what officers are to be constituted in it, and what ordinances are to be administered, and what laws and rules should be observed in receiving and rejecting of members, and according to which the whole community should walk; in short, it directs to all the forms, laws, and ordinances of God's house

2 Corinthians 10:12 "For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Matthew 7:1 "Judge not, that ye be not judged. Matthew 7:2 "For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again".

Romans 14:13 "Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.

if not found, 1 Corinthians 3:17 "If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are".

it is to measure the religious service, and its doctrine. the line of the apostles: everyone had his line or measure; or the course he was to steer was measured out and directed to him; the line of one, where he was to go and preach the Gospel, reached so far one way, and the line of another reached so far another way; and what with one and another, their line reached throughout all the earth; (see 2 Corinthians 10:13), the apostle citing these words in Romans 10:18; renders them, "their sound went", the sound of the Gospel, as published by them. and this measuring of it denotes the conformity of it to the rule of God's word; a profession of the true doctrines of it, and an observance of the ordinances of it, as delivered in it; and an agreement of the walk, life, and conversation of its members with it.

Which is the breath width and the height in Christ Jesus, supportive scripture, Ephesians 3:17 "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love," Ephesians 3:18 "May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;" Ephesians 3:19 "And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

what a measurement.

The two witnesses and their effect upon the Gentile Church?

I mean, the Gentile Church will be here and go through the Time of Jacob's Trouble along with Israel.

When that happens has anyone ever though about what effect these two Jewish prophets will have upon the Gentile Church?

Hmmmm?

Want to clarify for some who may not know what you are getting at.

You are saying there is no Rapture.

You say that, by saying the Gentile church will be on earth when the two Jewish witnesses appear in the Tribulation in Jerusalem.

Correct?

You say that, by saying the Gentile church will be on earth when the two Jewish witnesses appear in the Tribulation in Jerusalem.
Revelation 11:2 answer that...... but wait for his explanation first. "But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months."

PICJAG, 101G.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-18
For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming
of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from
heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in
Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one
another with these words.

Now if there will be no Rapture? And, the church must go through the horrors of the Tribulation?
How could Paul include these words?

Therefore comfort one
another with these words.

Hello Church? You will go through the Tribulation.
Comfort one another with those words?

Now, if getting caught up in the air takes place at the end of the Tribulation?
What will that leave the Lord to work with on earth?

All unbelievers....
He will start all over the earth population with unbelievers?
For all believers will have been removed from the earth.

Either that? Or, you assume only Gentiles are in Christ....

And, please?
Spare me.
Save your breath.

grace and peace ....................
