Colossians 1:18 "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."
Revelation 3:14 "And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;"
the term "Beginning" set the stage to understand the First-BORN.... FROM THE DEAD.for the Greek term BEGINNING is,

note the term "concretely" in definition #2. and how beginning is translated in the KJV, "FIRST" which is in reference to "order, time, place, or rank". Question, "is not God in Genesis 1:1 the "FIRST" in order, time, place, or rank? let's check the record. Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." and the Hebrew term "BEGINNING" is,

so first-born has nothing to do with a actual birth or a creation of oneself, no, but he is the SOURCE of ALL CREATION, OLD as WELL as the New Creation that is to come also.

why not in order, place and time? for in the NEW CFREATION, there will be no more TIME, nor anything after, so no PLACE, nor ORDER. for the creation to come is EVERLASTING.
