Do Catholics Pray to Mary?

God called Mary 'meter' = Do you believe God at His word?

JESUS is the "son of man" = Do you believe JESUS at His word?

JESUS is the only begotten Son of God = Do you believe the FATHER and His Son's words?

Hebrews 10:5
Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.
I asked you many times if you believe Jesus is God and I never got a straight Yes or No answer from you.

If you refuse to give me a straight Yes answer again then I will take your answer as a No.

So, here is my question again: Is Jesus God?

You were given The STRAIGHT TRUTH from the Holy Scriptures many times AND i even color coded it for you

How is it that you do not understand the Gospel of John chapter 1 and Hebrews 10:5?

A.) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God

B.) Therefore, when He came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a body You have prepared for Me.

C.) The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.....as the only begotten Son of God

D.) "IAM from Above, you are from beneath" = John 8:23

Gotta go for now

Be Blessed in the Doctrine of God that Saves us = Lord Jesus Christ

Sure it is, JESUS said so..............but you do not believe His words, do you!

JESUS - “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ ”
Apostle Peter - "having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever"
Apostle Paul - "and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus."
Apostle John - "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God."

@mikepec, You boast that your religion does not need nor depend on nor follow the words of:
The LORD Jesus Christ
the Apostle Peter
the Apostle Paul
the Apostle John
Which as always fails to answer the question.

Indeed your cult has utter contempt for what Jesus, Paul and Peter( and early church) say the source of true faith can be found. You make it up in your own image. The sheer arrogance of believing you know better than; Jesus, and all he sent to teach you is breathtaking,

Go post on the David tree cult page.

This one is for true Christianity,

IS PURE PAGAN FANTASY!!!
To you perhaps. But your the minority.

Roman Catholic Dogma
In 1950 Pope Pius XII proclaimed that the Assumption of the Virgin was an official dogma of the Roman Catholic Church, confirming the preexisting belief of many Catholics and in agreement with the beliefs of some Eastern Orthodox Christians. Pelikan notes that this proclamation “caused an uproar among Protestant theologians and clergy, both over its doctrinal content and over its dogmatic authority” at a time when ecumenical relations between Protestants and Roman Catholics were producing signs of healing (Pelikan, Mary Through the Centuries, 204). The Roman Catholic Church has not formally stated whether Mary died before her assumption.

Eastern Orthodox Tradition
The tradition of the Eastern Orthodox feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos roughly corresponds to the Catholic feast of the Assumption. Like the Catholic feast, it is celebrated on August 15 and commemorates the end of Mary’s earthly life. The Orthodox feast focuses on Mary’s “falling asleep” (i.e., natural death), but hymns for the feast also celebrate that she was resurrected and taken up bodily to heaven.

So as you see can if you look at history of the Church it's not a fantasy.

the Roman Catholic Vatican way = "the Holy Scriptures always fails to answer the question"

the Way of Truth and Life Says:

@mikepec, why are you opposing the LORD and His Holy apostles???

Then you do agree Jesus is God because you wrote "the Word was God"
Good!
Therefore, Mary is the meter of God.
That's all I needed to know

The Scriptures do not say that Mary was the Mother of God

The Scriptures say Mary was the mother/meter of Jesus, who was the son of man.

Should you not, at the very least, believe Mary's own words: Luke 1:46-55

And Mary said:

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me,
And Holy is His name.
And His mercy is on those who fear Him
From generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm;
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
And exalted the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things,
And the rich He has sent away empty.
He has helped His servant Israel,
In remembrance of His mercy,
As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and to his seed forever.”

Mary was blessed because of her faith in God her Savior =
Mary says to every RC parishioner = only His Name is HOLY

I totally agree with Luke 1:46-55.
You already said that Mary is the meter of Jesus.
So since Jesus is God then that makes Mary the meter of God.

What came first the Cross or Doctrine from God

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

God's DOCTRINE = "it's Jesus that went to the cross"

God's DOCTRINE = John 3:13-15
No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up = CROSS
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

What came FIRST???
Interesting question.
Wonder what you goal is.

You want to know what came first...Jesus or a doctrine?

Jesus came first.

And you can tell me why.

Are YOU also a Jehovah Witness?
You believe Jesus is the SON of God...
but not God?

See David....
When we want to insist that Mary is not the mother of God...
it brings us to some incorrect theological conclusions.

Does the bible have to state everything perfectly as you understand it before you accept it?

You gave me a question...now here's one for you...

How many natures did Jesus have?
How many persons was He?

I ask because , according to you,,,a body was prepared for Him...
with WHAT in it?

You should change your avatar.
In respect for the Pope...if he deserves any...we shall soon see...
but I'm doubting it already.

I agree with you that Mary was held in high regard by the ECFs and that she was believed
to even have remained a virgin by some of them.

If they don't all agree, I tend to shy away.

However, none of the ECFs believed Mary was assumed into heaven.
If you could find one, I'd certainly be interested.

I could even accept the Immaculate Conception for one reason in particular.
But the Assumption is just too much.

What's really important for me is soteriology. The avatar is to show I'm really not that hung up on a lot of the other topics that get hashed oven here. They are issues that are never going to be resolved. But since you asked so politely I'll try a new avatar.

How's that?

Whoa!
You look serious!

Yes. That's better.
:)

Thank you. It's my Helmet of Salvation look, very serious stuff!

I need to keep my minds focused on God so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.
Amen brother!

Philippians 4:8
8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
