Do Catholics Pray to Mary?

Then the Greeks have it more precisely right when they call her the Theotokos (God-bearer).

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)

That son is Jesus who is God.

Therefore, Mary is the God-bearer, the Theotokos. What a magnificent title!!!
Always begin with the TRUTH = Mary was created by the only begotten Son of God = not vice versa

God deposited into
Mary, by the Holy Spirit, the Word that was God and became flesh = Luke 1:26-55

Mary indeed gave birth to a male child whom she was instructed to call His name Jesus = the Body only

Hebrews 10:5

Therefore, when He came into the world, He said:
“Sacrifice and offering You did not desire,
But a
Body You have prepared for Me.

Mary did not pro-create God = NEVER happened = God prepared the Body inside Mary for the Word to dwell in
"And
the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14

Mary is NEVER given the title as "Mother of God" by the LORD, by the Apostles, by any OT Prophet nor Revelation

Please review again the TRUTH from God's Mouth

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made = the Word created Mary

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men = Mary received her life from the Word = not reverse like RCC thinks

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. = Mary needed The Light to save her

Mary had a God and she needed her God to save her = Luke 1:47
And Mary said:
“My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;

There are many God-bearers = JESUS says so

While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him.
Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.”

But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?”
And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers!
For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.

There are many God-bearers = the Holy Spirit says so

"To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery,
which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."

There are many God-bearers = JESUS says so

I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.
And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.

Isaiah 7:14 says a Virgin shall bear a son. That Virgin is no other than Mary. No other person fits that description.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)

What a magnificent honor and title for Mary, the Theotokos (God-bearer).

Is lying a sin?

Isaiah 7:14 is TRUTH

Theotokos is a man-made, man-centered lie = There does not exist in Scripture where Mary is called "theotokos".

You have been sold a lie from the RCC

I gave you Isaiah 7:14. Is Isaiah 7:14 lying?

The word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible. Does that make it "a man-made, man-centered lie"?
You have been sold a lie from the RCC

@Administrator @civic please take note of this as i am a former RCC parishioner irregardless of your denomination, lying is sin.
You agreed Isaiah 7:14 is the truth. Good.

Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)

Isaiah 7:14 proves that only Mary is the "Virgin" who "bears a son" who we all agree is Jesus and who is God. Right?

Therefore Mary is the God-bearer.

Yes, Catholics pray to and worship statues of Mary.
We should honor Mary as the God-bearer but not worship her. Worship is for God only.

We can ask for her intercessions as Christians ask of each other. The Book of Revelation has accounts of saints in heaven who are cognizant of activities here on earth.

Genesis lays the foundation for all Truth to follow.

Let Us make man in Our image according to Our likeness = 3

This TRUTH is expounded upon in Genesis, the OT Prophets and REVEALED in the Gospel and Revelation

There does not exist in ALL of Scripture the word 'theotokos".

Therefore, to claim "theotokos", as you have been doing, is promoting a very serious lie from the RCC.

This lie of "theotokos" is the foundation of the sin of Mariolatry = goddess worship = queen of heaven
This lie has lead millions(billions) of souls to hell.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, - 1 Timothy 2:5

You bet Lying is a sin. And we don't call each other a Liar. The holy Spirit will convict us of lying. We all sin.

9 If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
10 If we say (claim) we have not sinned, we contradict His Word and make Him out to be false and a liar, and His Word is not in us [the divine message of the Gospel is not in our hearts].
John 1:9–10.

John is talking about saved Christians. We all fall short of the glory of God at times.

We can ask for her intercessions as Christians ask of each other.

Speaking or communicating with those who have passed away is what witches attempt to do.

Sorcery and Idolatry.

But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”

The title of God-bearer does not make her in any way a mediator between God and man. I understand your concern but rest assured you must be both God and man to qualify as that mediator and only Jesus fits that bill.

So back to Isaiah 7:14. That verse proves that only Mary is the "Virgin" who "bears a son", who we all agree is Jesus and who is God. Right?

Therefore Mary is the God-bearer.

Agree - except for the "we don't call each other a liar" - Genesis 18:13-15

And the LORD asked Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Can I really bear a child when I am old?’ 14Is anything too difficult for the LORD? At the appointed time I will return to you—in about a year—and Sarah will have a son.”

15But Sarah was afraid, so she denied it and said, “I did not laugh.”

“No,” replied the LORD, “but you did laugh.”

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.

But we know that the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine, according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

Please answer these 2 questions:

Do you believe Isaiah 7:14 speaks of Mary?
Do you believe Jesus is God?

If yes to both then Mary is the God-bearer.
