Do Catholics Pray to Mary?

Me too!

Me too!

In all my posts , i never pit church/denomination against denomination.

In all my posts i only present the Word of Truth = the Holy Scriptures

The Holy Scriptures are Truth = "Thy word is truth"

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth
= anyone who opposes the Holy Scriptures are opposing the Holy Spirit.
Thus we are instructed = "do not grieve the Holy Spirit"
##########################################################################################

"Seeing thru a glass dimly" does not give us an excuse to willfully be ignorant of the Truth.
Thus the clear warning from the Apostle Paul:
"If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.

SEE that word "acknowledge"

When a catholic/protestant priest, cardinal, bishop or pope reject the commandments of the Lord they willfully sin against the Lord by exaulting themselves above Christ and the Apostles.

Even GREATER is the EVIL of replacing the commandments of the LORD with man-made religion which can NEVER save a soul from hell.

The Roman Catholic hierarchy is under the same Judgment as the Jewish people who reject their Messiah.

"seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God."
@DavidTree I'm not here to "bash" Catholics.

Then you, of all people, should reflect “the meekness and gentleness of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:1), showing mercy and lovingkindness to others in humility.

If correction must be given, let it be done “in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself so that you also will not be tempted” (Galatians 6:1).

Sadly, open rebuke and sound correction are often met with resistance in spaces like this, where it is sometimes viewed as divisive...yet “faithful are the wounds of a friend” (Proverbs 27:6), and “he who hates reproof is stupid” (Proverbs 12:1).

Let all things be done in love and truth, as it is written, “Speak the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).

The Christlike way @DavidTree.

You agree?

Thank You for the reference which reflect in my posts these instructions from the Apostle Paul = 2 Corinthians 10:1-6

"Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ—who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,
bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled."

Did you read thru these passages carefully???

"Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
For each one shall bear his own load."

A lot of people these days making themselves into something: Masters of Divinity and Bishops and Popes

God tells us to "make a distinction" between those who are seeking Truth and those who oppose Truth.

There are modern day pharisees who promote religion and then there are those trapped in religion but cannot find their way out.

How are they going to find their way out? = "Jesus said, with man this is impossible"

@DavidTree, in case you haven’t noticed, this forum openly accommodates all forms of religion, including those that directly contradict sound biblical doctrine-a serious error, if you ask me.

Correction is unwelcome here, and it's often labeled as “divisive,” no matter how scripturally grounded it is (2 Timothy 4:2–4).

My hands are tied. We're expected to “love” and tolerate even cultic teachings and blatant doctrinal error, as though truth and falsehood deserve equal footing.

So tell me..what would you have me do? Speak plainly and get banned? Or stay silent while truth is trampled?

Johann.
How about loving your brother and following the rules? From what I have been told you can talk about whatever you like, just do it in a polite way. But I'll run you post by the staff just to see if you are right.

You don't have to tolerate anything, use ignore. And you just today posted that all denominations were messed up in some way yet you expect the forum to be perfect?

And to quote you "so what"?

If it's that bad here for you get your own forum. You need to make up your own mind on what you should do. No one tied your hands, we let you post your mile long copy past post in Greek day in day out. and now you want to bad mouth us. I know you know our history and why we set it up for everyone.

When your a guest in someone's house you go by their rules. It's that easy. I'm glad staff does not dictate to us. If we can't follow the rules or don't like them that's on us.

i understand the situation my Brother in Christ

Thus i am being respectful and speaking from my roman catholic education along with the God's words of Truth.

My mother died clinging to Mary - i do not know where she is today and that is frightening.

It is the most frightening experience to see people clinging to that which can never save.

So tell me..what would you have me do? Speak plainly and get banned? Or stay silent while truth is trampled?
Just be led by the Holy Spirit and prayer and the love that you have in your heart for all.
As you said to me
"no catholic bashing" - therefore we speak the Truth in love by posting a simple scripture or two that speaks for Itself like i did in post #125

Even though this is technically my forum and the @Administrator.

We do not lord things over the members. We expect that the members can conduct themselves by the rules they agreed to and we have fewer rules than most forums and are more tolerating hoping that the members hold themselves accountable to each other. Also we are not a church guided by the same criteria that a local assembly would adhere to with its authority/submission.

This place/forum came into existence so that people from all faiths could discuss there beliefs in a safe place much like you would when you meet people in your daily life outside of your church walls. I don't think its a big ask to abide by the rules and following the golden rule.

And if this place can be a vehicle for witnessing to the lost in other beliefs systems there will be no winning over someone to Christ by calling them a cultist, a reprobate and any other description that insults them.

I'm never going to win over the JW who knocks on my door by calling them a cult, hellbound Christ rejecting reprobate and a pharisee. Having an open dialogue, treating them with respect and being kind and asking them questions can get them to rethink their beliefs without accusing them of heresy, false teaching. Tact goes a long ways when talking to those of different beliefs. I hope @Johann and @Behold will read this post and everyone else and reconsider who they act and post on the forum.

Except when 'rules' on a christian forum are to protect those who oppose the Lord Jesus Christ and punish those who speak the Truth.

Now the @Administrator is 100% correct in making sure that we are not attacking one another with our words or God's.

i believe that we can all grow thru this process of being respectful while we examine what we believe and why we should or perhaps should not based on the Holy Scriptures.

Quick Reminder: Romans 1:15 - "That is why I am so eager to preach the gospel also to you who are in Rome."

Here is a blessing for you @Richard = Acts 4:8-12

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people!
If we are being examined today about a kind service to a man who was lame, to determine how he was healed, then let this be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed.
This Jesus is:
‘the stone you builders rejected,
which has become the cornerstone.’a

Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

Yes let the Holy Spirit convict them with the scriptures we post about the truth.

AGREE and Thank You

Knowing wha I know about you I had a hunch you would agree. :)
@civic , @Johann, and many others on here are a GREAT blessing and i believe that this is what the Lord intends for us.

To walk together in the Gifts and Calling, seasoned by patience, love and steadfastness.

Which i need to to yield to each day = some days are GOOD and some days that 'old man' wants a piece of me.......

For example in my church and our parent church I lead mens discipleship groups ( 3 different ones each week) and home groups. The church has recognized I have the gift of teaching and its "accepted" with those in leadership with the elders, pastors and small groups.

But that does not mean its the same here. I'm pretty sure many do not think I have the gift and may even think I might be a false teacher. So this is where the church is much different than an online forum. I can correct someone in our mens groups or home groups or give another or different side of the argument or another way to see the passage, word meaning etc...... Thats a given in the groups I'm involved in and I'm also accountable to them as well. We don't get this on forums which is why I say the forums are not the church and should not conduct themselves as if they are the church online. There is a difference.

And many online are what I call lone rangers having no accountability or weekly/daily fellowship with other believers.

P.S. I will not try and convince anyone on the forum that thinks I don't have that gift that my pastors/elders/ mens groups have affirmed.

We do not punish those who speak the Truth. Some people can't handle the truth. But we still speak the truth in love hoping they will come around. We don't want people to come here and rant and rave. Some have gotten away with it for a while till they get way to out of line. We will be making some changes as we come to our 2-yr anniversary as in running a tighter ship in a more efficient way.

We will not let anyone mess this up as we believed God has called us to offer a safe place for true believers to come and share their walk with Jesus.

Ok, so we are all good now. I do have a question about... you guessed it, Mary. Way couldn't she touch Jesus after the resurrection?

Jesus initially forbids Mary from touching Him but later invites Thomas to do so. What's up with that?
