Busy listening to this-

THE CHRISTIAN DELUSION
FINDING HOPE IN BEING HONEST WITH OURSELVES
“[we] have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness,
nor handling the word of God deceitfully”
~ 2 Corinthians 4:2
1. The Christian Delusion
a. Believing in God is no delusion, but there is a Christian delusion.
b. Why are we shocked when a church/pastor/Christian does something heinous?
c. Delusion: There are 2.5 billion Christians, historical victors, all people of book/truth
d. Truth: the largest segment of unsaved people in America claims to be Christian.
e. We should renounce dishonesty, even if it is hard to swallow - 2 Cor 4:2, Eph 4:15
2. Under Deceit
a. Deceit ~def. Misleading the mind; caught in a false belief; fraud, misrepresentation.
b. ‘deceive the hearts of the simple’ - Rom 16:17-18 (lies we are told)
c. ‘Let no man deceive himself’ - 1 Cor 3:18 (lies we tell ourselves)
d. ‘Be not deceived, evil communications corrupt…‘ - 1 Cor 15:33 (lies affect believers)
e. To be deceived is to be tricked, gullible, humiliating, but … Titus 3:3
f. We are warned to ‘Beware … vain deceit’ - Col 2:8
g. Our old man is corrupt and deceitful - Eph 4:22, 5:6
h. Sin deceives - Rom 7:11, Heb 3:13; miracles will deceive - Rev 13:14, 2 Th 2:9
i. Satan deceives - 2 Cor 11:13-15; we deceive ourselves - Gal 6:3, 6:7, Rom 1:21-25
3. A Look at Reality
a. 7 of 10 Christian in U.S. - 2 believe Bible, 1 reads Bible, ½ Biblical worldview
b. 30% not, 25% Catholic, 15% Baptist, 7% non-denom, 5% cult, Methodist,
Pentecostal, 4% Lutheran, 2% Reformed, 2% Church of Christ
c. Half of Barna’s born again’s believe Jesus sinned; and reject salvation by works
d. 73% of Americans think humans are basically good, not everyone a sinner
e. Women pastors, marriage, gender issues not the slippery slope it is already slid
f. People believe error, live worldly, act despicably, think unbiblically, because most
are lost, do not read the Bible, do not care - 2 Cor 4:3
g. Our Christian armies, prayer warriors, coalitions are not armored, trained, strong
h. Tradition does not save, even good tradition does not save the next generation.
i. We are lulled into thinking all is well, except a few doctrinal perspectives.
j. A false hope - “if we turn back time to the 00s, 1990s, 70s, 50s it would be better”
k. We are comforted by numbers, tradition, experts, freedoms, but not Rom 15:4
June 18th, 2023
4. Where is Hope
a. When confronted with a sad reality, we can deceive ourselves or press on in hope
b. What is the harm in assuming the best? A: Their salvation, service to Christ, truth.
c. There is no harm in assuring salvation, repeating the gospel, fortifying foundation
d. We renounce dishonesty (false hope) so that we can give true hope in Christ.
i. If in this life only we have hope = misery - 1 Cor 15:19, Rom 5:2
ii. We are looking at a ‘Christian’ world without Christ - Eph 2:12, but now…
iii. The truth is known, our hope in Christ, God’s power to save, glory to come.
iv. A few more truly saved is better than much more with false hope.

If I need something more in depth I have my physical library with lots of reference works, commentaries, systematic theologies, BDAD, Greek Word study/morphology books etc..... I also have the Bible Soft reference library and Logos with every available add on when I need to dig deep.

I am more interested in the big picture-something I have neglected for years and hopefully @Grace ambassador and @DavidTree will give me sound directives as to where to find a biblical online ekklesia.

This shocked me today brother-
WHAT KIND OF CHRISTIAN ARE YOU
WHY CHRISTIANS HIDE THE GOSPEL

“But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost…”
~ 2 Corinthians 4:4

1. Identifying the Problem

a. If success is determined by number of Bibles and Christians (in name), we win!

b. Bibles are everywhere (92%), but no one reads them (31% ~ 9%)

c. Christians are everywhere (70%), but none have a Biblical worldview (6%)

d. Salvation is only one part of a “Biblical worldview” … oops - 1 Tim 2:4

i. The problem: most Christians are not saved (i.e. there are fake Christians)

2. How Unsaved Christians Exist

a. How do you get false believers? Confidence in a wrong message or testimony.

b. Fake Christians (unsaved) have been around since Paul - 2 Cor 11:26, Gal 2:4-5

c. Gospel perversions create the problem - Gal 1:6-9, 4:11,13

d. These corruptions include a (different) Jesus, spirit, gospel, apostle - 2 Cor 11:4-5

e. A hidden, unclear, uncertain, watered down gospel creates lost believers - 2 Cor 4:4

f. We have a message and it should be clear what the cross did - 2 Cor 5:18-21

g. It is possible to “believe in vain” by not hearing the true gospel Eph 1:13, 1Co 15:1-4

3. True and False Gospels

a. Do not assume Christians know the gospel or are saved.

b. When you meet a Christian, you must learn “What kind of Christian are you?”

c. True gospel of salvation The preaching of Christ’s cross - 1 Cor 1:17-23, 2:2

d. Teaching the law as the gospel: a curse, we cannot do it - Rom 3:19-20, 23

i. “Love the Lord” “Follow Jesus” “Keep commandments” “tithe” “water baptism”

e. Add to his finished work: Christ died in vain - Gal 2:21, Eph 2:8-9, Ti 3:5, Ro 4:5

i. “repent (stop sinning)” “confess with your mouth” “pray” “Lord of your life”

f. Make it experiential: the Spirit seals believers - Eph 1:13, Ti 3:5, Gal 3:14, 1Cor 12:13

i. “personal relationship with Jesus” “filled with Holy Spirit” “born again”

g. Hide it: where is the cross? Is it necessary? 1Cor 1:23, 15:13-17

i. “receive him” “accept Christ” “ask him into your heart” “believe in Jesus”

h. Man’s problem: sin. The gospel must save you from judgment already declared.

4. What if They Are Not Unsaved

a. Who are we to judge? 1 Cor 2:15 - we are stewards, workmen, ambassadors.

b. “maybe they trust the gospel, but are not good at communicating it”

c. 1) If you cannot communicate it; how do you know it? What is your hope? Heb 11:1

d. 2) Accidental incompetence has the same effect as hiding it intentionally - 2 Cor 4:5

e. Either they are lost or doing devilish work: both need saved/stopped - 2 Tim 2:24-25

f. Do not be naïve and assume. No harm is done in making it clear.

g. Saved people glory in the cross, and that zeal begets other saved people. Gal 6:14

I have not heard of them before. Is this it ?
Haven't seen that one yet...
All my life I was doing word studies and the morphological meanings-but that is far as it goes-guess I am still a babe in Christ and not ashamed to admit it.
Don't beat yourself up too much; I am really s-l-o-w, and after 11 years as a babe, God Was Gracious, Leading me to "Rightly Divided" study, but it was another 10 years before I shared
it with someone. His Timing and Conforming us, is Much Better, eh?
I take it you learn from Grace Ambassadors online?
Precious friend, looks as if my brief Right Division is now getting quite lengthy, eh?

I have reviewed, in past years, the following mentors for some study, and have learned
from them:

graceambassadors . com (Justin Johnson)
+
arcgraceministries . org ( Shawn Brasseaux )
+
MatthewMcgee . org

However, I tend to stay away from these because of just a single teacher, because:

"...in the multitude of counsellors there is safety." (Proverbs 11:14; 24:6)
Thus, I stay mostly [ avoiding getting 'strung out' all over the place ;) ] with
BereanBibleSociety.org, as they have had a multitude of Different teachers who
write Great 'Rightly Divided' articles in the Berean Searchlight, which I have been
receiving for over 30 years now.

Please Be Very Richly Encouraged and Edified In
Christ, and In His Word Of Truth, Rightly Divided!

Amen.

The Rapture and the Prophetic Saints
by Pastor Paul M. Sadler

“There seems to be some confusion over the future resurrections these days. C. I. Scofield, for example, taught that at the Rapture, ‘Not Church saints only, but all bodies of the saved, of whatever dispensation, are included in the first resurrection.’ What are your thoughts on this statement?”

We hold the Scofield Reference Bible in high regard, but Dr. Scofield often failed to rightly divide the Word of God consistently, which is somewhat understandable, seeing that the truth of Paul’s gospel was still being recovered. With that said, the order of the future resurrections is as follows:

Secret Resurrection of the Body of Christ: This glorious event will take place at the Rapture of the Church. It will only include those who are “in Christ,” from the Apostle Paul to the sound of the trump (I Cor. 15:51-53; I Thes. 4:13-18).

First Resurrection of the prophetic saints: After the seven year Tribulation Period runs its course, it will be followed by the Second Coming of Christ to the earth. At that time, Christ will raise the believing prophetic saints of time past, along with the martyrs of the Tribulation, and usher them into the Millennial Kingdom (John 5:28,29; I Cor. 15:23; Rev. 17:6; 20:6).

Resurrection of Damnation: This particular event occurs immediately following the 1,000-year reign of Christ. In that day, the unsaved of all ages will be resurrected from the dead and appear at the Great White Throne Judgment, where they will be found in their sins and judged accordingly (John 5:29; Rom. 2:4-6; I Cor. 15:24-26; Rev. 20:5,11-15; 21:8).

Time to stop vacillating in my thoughts and embrace the teachings per BBC.

God bless
Johann.

Prophecy
1. Concerns a kingdom; a political organization
(Dan. 2:44; Matt. 6:10).

2. The kingdom to be established on earth (Jer.
23:5; Matt. 6:10).

3. Christ to be its King (Jer. 23:5; Isa. 9:6,7).

4. The kingdom prophesied “since the world began”
(Luke 1:68-70; Acts 3:21).

5. Israel to be given supremacy over the nations
(Isa. 60:10-12; 61:6).

6. The Gentiles to be blessed through Israel’s
instrumentality (Gen. 22:17,18; Zech. 8:13).

7. The Gentiles to be blessed through Israel’s rise
(Isa. 60:1-3; Zech. 8:22,23).

8. Prophecy mainly concerns nations as such (Isa.
2:4; Ezek. 37:21,22).

9. Prophecy concerns blessings, both material and
spiritual, on earth (Isa. 2:3,4; 11:1-9; etc.).

10. Prophecy concerns Christ’s coming to the earth
(Isa. 59:20; Zech. 14:4).

11. In prophecy salvation by grace through faith
alone is not contemplated.

12. The proclamation of the prophetic program committed particularly to the twelve (Matt. 10:5-7;
Acts 1:6-8; 3:19-26).

13. The prophetic program revealed through many
of God’s servants (Luke 1:70; II Pet. 1:21).

14. Old testament writers frequently did not understand the prophecies made known through them
(Dan. 12:8-10; I Pet. 1:10-12).

The Mystery
1. Concerns a body; a living organism (I Cor.
12:12,27; Eph. 4:12-16).

2. The body given a position in heaven (Eph. 1:3;
2:5-6; Col. 3:1-3).

3. Christ its living Head (Eph. 1:19-23; Col. 1:18).

4. The body chosen in Christ before the world began, but “kept secret since the world began” (Rom.
16:25; Eph. 1:4-11; 3:5-9).

5. Jew and Gentile placed on the same level before
god (Rom. 10:12; 11:32; Eph. 2:16,17).

6. The Gentiles blessed through Israel’s obstinacy
(Acts 13:44-46; Rom. 11:28-32).

7. The Gentiles blessed through Israel’s fall (Acts
28:27,28; Rom. 11:11,12,15).

8. The mystery concerns individuals (Rom. 10:12,13;
II Cor. 5:14-17).

9. The mystery concerns “all spiritual blessings in
the heavenlies” (Eph. 1:3; Col. 3:1-3).

10. The mystery explains Christ’s present absence
from the earth (Eph. 1:20-23; Col. 3:1-3).

11. Salvation by grace through faith alone lies at
the very heart of the mystery (rom. 3:21-26; 4:5;
Eph. 2:8,9).

12. The proclamation of the mystery committed particularly to Paul (Eph. 3:1-3,8,9; Col. 1:24-27).

13. The mystery revealed through one man: Paul
(Gal. 1:1,11,12; 2:2,7,9; Eph. 3:2,3).

14. Paul both understood and longed that others
might understand the mystery revealed through
him (Eph. 1:15-23; 3:14-21; Col. 1:9-10; 2:1-3).
Things That Differ, by C. R. Stam, pgs. 63-65

Update of:

Distinctions 1-14, and 15-19...

Continued:

...Prophecy / Covenants / Law { earthly! }, the "kingdom gospel":

(20) Jesus and the twelve "healed everyone"

"When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that
were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with
His Word, and healed all that were sick"
(Matthew 4:24, 8:16, 15:30-31; Mark 2:3-4, 6:54-56 AV)
+
"Then He called His twelve disciples together, and gave them
power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And
He sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick...
And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the
[ kingdom ] gospel, and healing every where." (Luke 9:1-6 AV)
+
"There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto
Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with
unclean spirits: and they were healed every one." (Acts 5:16 AV)

Why?:

a) The nation of Israel is called, By God:

"And ye shall be unto Me a kingdom of priests, and an
holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak
unto the children of Israel." (Exodus 19:6 AV)

b) The first "Requirement * to be a priest unto God":

"No man that hath a blemish of the seed of Aaron the
priest shall come nigh to offer the offerings of the LORD
made by fire: he hath a blemish; he shall not come nigh
to offer the bread of his God." (Leviticus 21:21 AV)

c) Thus all were healed in order to "meet God's first Requirement *
of no blemish for the priesthood."

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15 AV) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

Mystery / GRACE { Heavenly! }! Christ, to Paul, One apostle to the Gentiles:

(20) Today, Under The "Gospel Of Grace", According To God's Perfect Will,"
Not all are healed. Why Not?: No priesthood 'calling', but 'this' Is found
in Romans - Philemon:

"And He {Christ} Said Unto me, My Grace Is Sufficient For
thee: For My Strength Is Made Perfect in weakness. Most
gladly therefore will I rather glory {cp} in my infirmities [ #link# ] ,
that The Power Of CHRIST May Rest Upon me!"
(2 Corinthians 12:9 cp 2 Corinthians 11:23-30 AV)

Same {as before} Conclusion:

“things that are Different are just Not The Same,” correct?

----------------------------------

*
Note: the Other Two Requirements for Israel's priesthood were
"water [ washing by John and the twelve ) baptism, and anointing
of oil [ Christ's Baptism with The Holy Spirit { at Pentecost } ]",
Neither of which are For us Today, As God, Under Grace, Now Has Only:

Amen.

continued: More Distinctions of prophecy vs Mystery:

21) The Second prophesied Coming of The Son of man To earthly Israel
has a 'gathering' [ but not a 'rapture' ("catching up") ]:

Christ "Sets Up His Throne Of His Glory" (Matthew 25:31), and with:

Another trumpet ( After "the 7th angel trumpet” in heaven ), on
the earth, angels Are 'Sent', By The KING, To: “gather the elect”...

Rightly Divided (2 Timothy 2:15) From “Things That Differ!” (online):

21) The Mystery Coming Of The Head Of The Heavenly Body Of Christ Has
A Gathering, "Catching Up Into the air" (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 AV):

CHRIST “Gathers His Body To Himself, to Take us To Heaven...

Further study: God's Great GRACE Departure! ( aka 'rapture' )

Amen.
