@TomL
Tom, my friend, you have select reading disease. You can do better than that. Listen to our Lord:
John 3:3
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
And I agree with that
One, however, is born again by believing in Christ.
When one believes in Christ, they receive the Holy Spirit and are born again - made sons of God
James 1:18 (LEB) — 18 By his will
he gave birth to us through the message of truth, so that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
John 1:12–13 (LEB) — 12 But as many as received him—
to those who believe in his name—he gave to them authority to become children of God, 13
who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a husband, but
of God.
Galatians 3:26–27 (LEB) — 26 For
you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
John 7:38–39 (LEB) — 38
the one who believes in me. Just as the scripture said, ‘
Out of his belly will flow rivers of living water.’ ” 39 (Now he said this concerning the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were about to receive. For the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus had not yet been glorified.)
Acts 2:38 (LEB) — 38 And Peter said to them, “
Repent and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins,
and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 1:13–14 (LEB) — 13 in whom also you, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, in whom also
when you believed you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.
Galatians 3:2 (LEB) — 2 I want only to learn this from you:
Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
Galatians 3:14 (LEB) — 14 in order that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, so that we might
receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Regarding John 3
Nicodemus had a question, and Christ had an answer
John 3:9–18 (LEB) — 9 Nicodemus answered and said to him, “
How can these things be?” 10 Jesus answered and said to him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and you do not understand these things? 11 Truly, truly I say to you, we speak what we know, and we testify about what we have seen, and you do not accept our testimony! 12 If I tell you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things? 13 And no one has ascended into heaven except the one who descended from heaven—the Son of Man. 14
And just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, thus it is necessary that the Son of Man be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.” 16 For in this way God loved the world, so that he gave his one and only Son, in order that everyone who believes in him will not perish, but will have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world in order that he should judge the world, but in order that the world should be saved through him. 18 The one who believes in him is not judged, but the one who does not believe has already been judged, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
