"Works Salvation"

One obeys after they are saved by the work of the Spirit who causes the obedience 1 Pet 1:2,22

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

You want man to take credit for the Spirits role in Salvation
does God do the obeying for you ?

Only God knows. But if we MUST be born again to be saved, then yes, and it was a sobering thought! And becoming born again requires the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Being Born-Again requires the Spirit of God but it does not require the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

the OT Saints who BELIEVED were Born-Again but they did not receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

In the NT it is required.

Rom 6, 1 cor 12 and gal 5 i baptism of the spirit.

The people in the OT. I believe were washed or placed into christ after the fact..

None of these references refer to the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

There are three baptisms, identified by three different baptizers.

Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 1 Corinthians 10:1-2

  • Moses = Christ; baptized into Christ by the Spirit. Spirit is Baptizer 1 Corinthians 12:13 = Born Again

For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13

  • In the sea = baptized into water. Human being is the baptizer such as John the Baptist.

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5

  • In the cloud = baptism with the Holy Spirit as on the day of Pentecost. Jesus is the Baptizer.

He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Acts 1:4-5

I indeed baptized you with water, but He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” Mark 1:8

Yes. But I di not think it happened until after jesus died.
Duet

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of the Lord and His statutes which I command you today for your good? Indeed heaven and the highest heavens belong to the Lord your God, also the earth with all that is in it. The Lord delighted only in your fathers, to love them; and He chose their descendants after them, you above all peoples, as it is this day. Therefore circumcise the foreskin of your heart, and be stiff-necked no longer.

Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.
1 Peter 1:10-11

1“If you will return, O Israel,
return to Me,” declares the LORD.
“If you will remove your detestable idols from My sight
and no longer waver,
2and if you can swear, ‘As surely as the LORD lives,’
in truth, in justice, and in righteousness,
then the nations will be blessed by Him,
and in Him they will glory.”
3For this is what the LORD says to the men of Judah and Jerusalem:
“Break up your unplowed ground,
and do not sow among the thorns.
4Circumcise yourselves to the LORD,
and remove the foreskins of your hearts,

O men of Judah and people of Jerusalem.

Romans 6 says I was baptized (literally placed into) christ. And his death.

If God did nto do this who did?

1 cor 12 says I was baptized (placed into) his body.

Again who did this (actually paul tells us, it is by the spirit)

Gal. Says I was baptized (literally placed into) christ

Again who has the power to do this?

Sees what?

He did not see. I am not sure who he thinks baptized us into those things. But he is not seeing the truth
Any believer/saints whether from the OT or the NT who has received the "circumcision of the heart" has become Born-Again

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit was only given after JESUS Ascended back to the FATHER

SHALOM my Brother of encouragement
