"Works Salvation"

Again, "believe" is from the Greek word "pistis" which means "faith". It is not the American connotation of "intellectual assent", but an active faith as described in James 2:20, 22, 24, 26. The work of God is that you have faith, doing what He commands and acting as His servant (Luke 17:7-10).
pistis means to have assurance, to have confidence. to be assured. not based on lack of proof. but based in evidentiary proof.

who or what do we trust?

God

or self

The work of God......................that's IT = the work of God

Is it trusting God or self to do the seemingly asinine action of being immersed in water to cure leprosy?
Is it trusting God or self to do the seemingly asinine action of marching around a city to make its walls fall down?
Is it trusting God or self to do the seemingly asinine action of giving your last meal to a man who says that if you do you won't starve?
Is it trusting God or self to do the seemingly asinine action of being immersed in water to receive forgiveness of sin?
Is it trusting God or self to reinterpret Scripture to say that all we have to do is have a thought in our heart, and then no matter what we do we are saved and cannot lose that gift?

what do you mean about sin unto death? I am not sure where you are going here

It says he can not sin. it does not mention anything about death.
Romans 6. 16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
yet we do it..
But I don't, so I know it is possible to not have any desire to sin against the commandments of God. As I said, that was not true for the first 30 years of my life, but I came to an epiphany. Repentance is not us turning away from sin in our own power. We are not strong enough to succeed because of the strong pull from the sin in our nature. Repentance is giving up trying, and turning our sin over to Jesus to take away the desire out of our nature and making us a new creature. And He did. EG, it was so supernatural I literally felt the heavy darkness of sin lift out of me and made me feel light as a feather, and I was free. And in its place was the divine nature of God. Every moment of every day no matter what I am doing, I'm thinking the thoughts God puts in my mind. It is true He gives us the mind of Christ. 1 Cor. 2:16
Yes... But again, Even paul said he did not do what he wanted.. He still sinned, in fact he called himself the chief of all sinners (present tense) he ran did not think he made it. he continued to run the race.
EG, my friend you must read Romans 7 in context with Romans 8, and also with the truth that verses 1-6 is us after being freed from the law and "the flesh" described in 14 through 25 that was us IN the Law and still in the flesh, because we still sinned. When Paul was a Pharisee he was keeping the law in his mind, but his nature pulled in the other direction. Jesus stopped that roller-coaster ride of the devil by removing the carnality of sin from our nature. Read what is happening in the sentences, not the present tense misinterpreted by our "western" mindset. The apostles were eastern, not western so read each sentence as ask yourself is this before or after being cleansed of all unrighteousness and being filled with the Holy Spirit.

I haven't read your whole response, but would like you to read this bit first. I shouldn't have written such a long post. Sorry!

Titus 2:11-12 KJV
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Salvation vs service
Right.
So when we say that Jesus taught us to have a specific behavior...
and we do it....
that is obedience to God.

So are we required to obey God
or is FAITH ONLY sufficient to please God?

Paul taught we are saved by an obedient faith,
Romans 1:5 ; Romans 16:26 ; Romans 15:18
- by whom we have received  grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for his name

- but now is made manifest and by the Scriptures of the prophets according to the commandment of the everlasting God made known to all nations for obedience of faith

- for I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath wrought by me to make the gentiles obedient by word and deed(works)

Paul, taught faith without obedient works was profitless.

Galatians 5:6,
- for in Jesus Christ neither circumcision nor uncircumcision profiteth anything but faith which worketh by love

We know Jesus' word defines love of God as working His commandments.

John 14:21,
- He that hath My commandments and keepeth them he it s that loveth Me and he that loveth Me shall be loved by My Father and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him

yes we have the power to live by the spirit. it does not mean we will chose to do this 24/7
Then how can He guide our conscience if He is quenched. Quenching the Holy Spirit is apostasy. No, He is our identity now. If we are in control, then we are not born again of the Spirit.
But the flesh is not dead.. every moment of every day we are tasked with a choice. follow God or serve self..
EG, there is a huge difference between our flesh and who we are when born again of the Spirit. Just belief in Jesus as our Savior is not enough. We must be baptized with the Holy Spirit. The crucifixion is once. Sin in our nature is killed. We are resurrected righteous.
