GINOLJC, to all.
The husband and wife , Bishop team, of Aquila and Priscilla, Instructed a Man, who was a Jew himself, in a better, NOT DIFFERENT, but a better way in the Lord. he Apollos, a Jew, knowing only John's baptism was enlighten by this couple. but there is something else about this couple that 101G believes or thinks that has not yet been proven. this couple with the apostle Paul 101G believes, wrote the book of Hebrews. 101G base this on a couple of things. "The switching of identities from
we to
I". which indicate that more than one person wrote the book or letter.
A. on a singularly of point by a single contributor. Hebrews 13:18 "Pray for
us: for
we trust
we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly." Hebrews 13:19 "But
I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner." here we clearly see a switch from a group response to a single response.
B. on a singularly of point by a group contributor. Hebrews 5:11 "Of whom
we have many things
to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing
ye are dull of hearing." the
WE are the contributors, and
YE are the recipient of the Letter. or as in Hebrews 6:3 "And this will
we do, if God permit." or Hebrews 6:9 "But, beloved,
we are persuaded better things of
you, and things that accompany salvation, though
we thus speak."
these are just a few example, but there are many more in the book/letter. now the reason why 101G believes this because both the apostle Paul and Aquila and Priscilla spent some time in Corinth and Ephesus together. Acts 18:1 "After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;" Acts 18:2 "And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome
and came unto them." Acts 18:3 "And because he was of the same craft,
he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers." also in the time of the LIFTING of the band on the Jews, now can return to Rome. he, the apostle Paul, and Aquila and Priscilla, together in sending Phebe to the newly ... beginning to be organized church at Rome. hence we get the Book of Rome, an this book of Hebrews. for both Aquila and Priscilla were Bishops themselves and had a church in their home, and who both Labored together with Paul in the gospel. scripture, Romans 16:3 "Greet Priscilla and Aquila my
helpers in Christ Jesus:" the term "Helper" here tells us that Aquila and Priscilla was both Bishops.
HELPERS: G4904 συνεργός sunergos (sïn-er-ğos') adj.
a co-laborer, i.e. coadjutor.
[from a presumed compound of G4862 and the base of G2041]
KJV: companion in labour, (fellow-)helper(-labourer, -worker), labourer together with, workfellow
Root(s): G4862, G2041
and if one is catholic you know what a
coadjutor is. a bishop appointed to assist and often to succeed a diocesan bishop. these two bishops assisted in the appointment of of our sister Phebe in the church of Rome. Romans 16:1 "I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea:"
and the verse said, my "helper(s)" yes with the "s" at the end of Helpers. meaning both Aquila and Priscilla are bishops.
KNOWING this ... the book of Romans, and the book of Hebrews are presented to both the Jews and the Greek possibly in Rome.
this is only 101G reasoning of the events, so don't hold 101G to this accuracy of reasoning. but it may be of interest to certain minds.
101G.
