The Unconditional Election Debate: An Universalist Perspective

That was my point.

Thus all who believed did so without regeneration then.
They didn't have the indwelling of the Spirit, but they did receive regeneration after they exhibited faith in God. They did have a regenerated spirit within their lifetime. But not (as bright says) before they exhibited their faith.

The resurrection of Christ when he was glorified

John 7:37–39 (NASB 95) — 37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ ” 39 But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Yes, in John 7, Jesus had not yet been glorified. But in John 13:31, before His death and resurrection, Jesus says that He is NOW glorified. When Jesus returned from the dead and met with the Apostles (John 20:22)(after He was glorified), Jesus gave the indwelling of the Spirit to the Apostles.
